Friday, Dec 8: Today on Bold and the Beautiful, as Li badgers Finn to go to the party, Eric’s family thank him for all he’s meant to them.
Thursday’s Early B&B recap: Li was suspicious of Finn when she found him working, ignoring Steffy’s texts, and Eric sanctioned Hope and Thomas’ relationship.
At Eric’s, Thorne and Ridge urge him to sit but he refuses. He tells them all they can’t really understand how significant it is that they have all honored an old man’s wish for this party.
Stepping up, Steffy says they do understand. Tonight is a night they will always look back on.
It’s amazing to have them all gathered there. She knows nothing means more to him than family and they feel the same way.
Tearing up, she declares that he will always be their leader and they love him so much.
Steffy’s brother and father crowd around her. They tell her she did great and that was very moving.
She worries that her granddad may have caught on that they know he’s sick and peers across the room at him.
Thorne and Bridget tell their father what a great party this is. He wishes they had more time together and says that he wants them to go away knowing how much he loves them.
He sends them off to fill their drinks and Carter walks over. He tells Eric how grateful he is to him for making him welcome.
Eric says he’s family.
Carter tells him how important his forgiveness has been. He’s been like a surrogate father to him.
If it were up to Eric, he wouldn’t be a surrogate and shakes his hands.
Carter walks over to Ridge and says that was the hardest thing he’s ever had to do.
Katie and Donna check on Eric. He admits this party is a little more emotional than he thought it would be.
It’s almost as if everyone knows the truth. He starts coughing and asks for a martini.
Donna will allow him a splash of champagne.
As she pours it, she overhears Thomas, Ridge, and Brooke talking about how Eric didn’t win the fashion show.
She rushes over and tells them he can never find out. Ridge wants his dad to go out on top.
Donna knows he was being kind and selfless but she worries about how painful it will be if Eric finds out.
Who knows what the truth could do to him in his condition?
Eric tells Zende, RJ and Luna they are the future of Forrester. She’s happy to be included. They joke that Eric has never been wrong.
Eric shakes RJ’s hand and tells him how proud he is of him and the man he’s becoming.
Turning to Zende, he tells him he never stops being impressed by him.
As they shake, Zende tells him he has been the best mentor and teacher.

B&B December comings and goings
Eric tells Hope and Thomas how happy he is that they are there. He sees great things in their future and urges them not to take any of them for granted.
He admires how lovely and smart Hope is. She’s really Brooke’s daughter and a reminder they should never lose hope.
Hope says she’s learned never to give up, even in the darkest of times. She hugs him and then Thomas hugs his grandfather.
Donna is trying to keep from crying.
Turning to Steffy, he tells her she’s always been the family jewel.
She knows she inherited her grandmother’s name, but he will always live through her. His presence will always be in her.
As they hug, Brooke follows, asking for a hug.
Tearing up, she tells him that he has always been her champion and the first to root for her and Ridge.
Eric says that they will lead the company and family into the future.
Calling out to everyone, Eric acknowledges what an angel Donna has been and how much he loves her.
Looking to Ridge, he says they have been battling, admiring, and loving each other for years. He’s not a bad designer either. Not the best,
of course, since he won the fashion showdown.
Staring at his son, he asks if he lied to him. Ridge says nothing.
Eric gets more upset and realizes that they have all been lying to him.
Looking around at all the guests as they weep, Eric finally tells his son that lying to him was the nicest thing anyone’s ever done.
He and Ridge shake hands and laugh.
Suddenly, Eric collapses. Nodding to Donna, he tells her it’s his time and he’s at peace.
“Be kind to each other,” he says, before losing consciousness.
Li is surprised to see that her son is still working at the office and tells him he should be at Eric’s party.
She keeps pushing. He says that Eric is a remarkable man.
She’s envious of Eric having a loving family and thinks he has so much to live for.
