In the Friday, January 28, 2022, full episode recap of CBS’ Bold and the Beautiful, Paris gets an earful from her mom and Thomas is shocked to her who was really kissing Brooke. We also have Wednesday’s B&B recap where Brooke tried to get Douglas to forget about who she was kissing.
At Il Giardino, Sheila urges the waiter to get away as she eavesdrops on Hope telling Deacon that she knows he and Brooke got drunk and shared a kiss and woke up together.
Deacon says if Ridge left Brooke, he’d get a foot in the door but he doesn’t want it to happen that way. He’d never betray Brooke’s trust that way. He vows not to say anything to anyone as Sheila leans in to hear better with the menu covering her face.
Hope can see he really loves her. It’s comforting, though she doesn’t condone it. It means it might be more than a scandal back when they had her. He admits he’d do everything to make her life full of happiness if he had a second chance with her.
Hope thanks her dad and goes while he flashes to kissing Brooke. Sheila appears. “You and Brooke…on New Year’s Eve.” She lets him know she heard that he and Brooke were drinking partners on New Year’s.
She doesn’t seem to have heard the rest. She flashes to making it happen by switching the champagne. Sheila says, “Karma’s a bitch.” Deacon defends Brooke. Sheila calls her a drunk but Deacon clarifies she’s an alcoholic an her world won’t come crumbling down.
At the cabin, Brooke and Liam talk about trying to move on from Douglas seeing her kiss “Santa.” Brooke’s still in shock at what the tyke saw. Liam reminds her he didn’t see anything, really and he’ll forget. Brooke worries he’ll start asking questions.
She can’t let this get out. She criticizes being a terrible grandmother because she tried to get him to stop thinking about it. Liam comforts her and she says she had no choice.
At the Cliffhouse, Douglas uses binoculars to look at the birds. He yells happily that he saw a bald eagle.
Thomas has a look. It’s only a seagull. Thomas and Steffy tease that first he thought he saw Santa kissing Grandma and now a bald eagle.
Maybe he needs glasses? Douglas sulks. They tell him they’re only joking around. He goes to play and they talk about what’s going on at Brooke’s place. Steffy knows their dad’s life would have been so much better.
He wouldn’t have been dealing with Deacon. They go on about their parents being together and Thomas clutches his head. They have to stop talking about this. Douglas reappears and Steffy’s called in for a hair emergency.
Thomas lets his kid know he can talk about anything to him. Thomas isn’t supposed to discuss Grandma kissing Santa. Thomas asks, “Why do you keep saying that?” The kid tells his dad it’s true but Grandma said it was in the past and that there’s no need to talk about it anymore.
Thomas assumes it was Ridge but the kid tells his dad it wasn’t Christmas. Santa was wearing a hat not not his face. He asks his son to think hard about who it could have been. Douglas thinks and realizes he knows. “It was Mommy’s dad.” Thomas asks, “Deacon?” Douglas nods and hugs his dad.

At Forrester Creations design room, Paris tells her mom that she and Zende have a connection but more freedom. Grace asks for freedom to do what? Date guys who disappoint? She doesn’t think there’s another better guy out there than Zende.
Paris flashes to making out with Carter and looks away.
Carter interrupts and Grace tells him what he’s interrupting. Paris tries to get her not to continue talking. Grace asks if Carter knew. Carter says nothing and Paris looks around, awkwardly. Paris claims she didn’t want to hurt Zende by rejecting him.
Grace doesn’t get why she’d want to at all. They had numerous conversations about how much she liked him. Paris shrugs. She doesn’t know what to say. Grace apologizes for being an overbearing mother, even though she admits to liking being one.
She never meant to do this in front of him but she keeps up her remarks that Zende’s too good to pass up. Grace is only going by what lovely things her daughter said about the man. Once Grace is gone, Paris tells Carter she can’t stop thinking about him.
He feels the same. She tries to convince him to pursue this. He calls it complicated. She kisses him as Grace returns and witnesses the kiss.
Hope returns to the cabin and lets Brooke know that she saw Deacon, who promised he’d keep quiet about that kiss. Brooke’s glad to hear. She thinks she may be able to keep this secret. She hugs her kid.
