SoapsSpoilers’ General Hospital recap for the Thursday, January 28, 2022 episode. Today, things kick off at the cabin and Esme walks out, Stella encourages Curtis to leave things alone, and Valentin digs for more evidence. We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Peter reacted to learning where Louise was as Valentin stumbled on the truth.
Martin joins Laura at Perks and she starts grilling him about having Peter as a client. The mayor worries he has no idea what he’s in for. He claims he’s taken him because he believes in equal justice under the law. She assumes that comes with a big paycheck. After he lists his many money issues, she still asks why it has to be him. He asks if there’s any chance Peter could get his hands on his little girl. She says the only chance is if he gets him off.
Brook Lynn walks in on Chase while he is changing at General Hospital after his physical. As he pulls on his pants, he tells her that if he wasn’t suspended, he’d be back on duty. But he’s happy to have so much time to spend with Bailey.
Brook Lynn says it’s too bad he’s her father in name only. As she does up the button he missed, she tells him he has the touch to be a real father. She’s been sitting on pins and needles since Maxie left for Pautauk. He’s sure Maxie knows what’s at stake and all will be well.
Peter sits in his room mulling over Victor telling him that Bailey has been Louise all along. Dante arrives and informs him he’s headed for Pentonville tomorrow. There are some more tests to run. Peter claims that he has resources that could still lead to finding his daughter when the cops clearly can’t. They bicker.
When Peter and Dante head down the hall for tests, they bump into Brook Lynn and Chase with Bailey. “You’re so very lucky,” Peter tells them as he looks at the baby. “She looks just like her mother,” he adds. After Dante leads Peter away, Brook Lynn and Chase nearly hyperventilate. She worries that Peter has learned the truth. Chase insists that he can’t possibly know. “Peter can’t possibly know what?” Laura asks as she pops up.
They all hope that Peter is going to prison. She encourages them to have faith that their daughter will live in a better world.
Martin arrives in Peter’s room. The lawyer recuses himself from his defense. Peter has no hard feelings. Martin assumes there must be a catch. There isn’t. He exits as Dante returns.
Laura drops in on Peter and wonders why he was so magnanimous to her brother. He claims he has faith in the system.
Victor notices Valentin at the nurses’ station requesting Bailey’s medical records. He informs his father that Brook Lynn hasn’t changed the birth certificate yet. That makes Victor wonder if she’s hiding something. Before he can walk away, Valentin stops him. Victor reminds his son that he can trust him. His son admits he’s fishing to see if he can find anything to use against Brook Lynn.
When a nurse brings the records, Valentin asks to meet his father later. Once Victor walks away, Valentin requests a copy of the sonogram. It’s not in there and would be in Brook Lynn’s file. He asks Bailey’s blood type. It’s O negative.
When Valentin heads to his car, he calls Anna to say he has a lead on Louise. A thug grabs him and knocks him out, shoving him into the trunk of Victor’s car. “Cancel my dinner reservation,” Victor says.
At the cabin, Joss keeps calling Esme a bitch. Cam declares the bar closed for the night. Joss insists that Esme was determined to hurt Trina because she’s jealous of Spencer’s friendships. She asks him if he can finally see his girlfriend for who she is. The Cassadine doesn’t say anything. Esme accuses Trina of having him wrapped around her finger and walks off. Joss gets in Spencer’s face about not calling Esme out.
Spencer explains that Esme has repeatedly stood by him. Joss and Trina have always rejected her. She tells him to wake up and see the hurt she’s done. Cam wonders if his friend has finally seen what his girlfriend is capable of.
Esme looks at some luggage and then goes into the bedroom smiling. She returns to the others and declares that she’s leaving. Spencer agrees to go with her but wants to check on Trina.
Esme says she’s asleep and walks out. He follows. Cam is sorry that all this blew up. Joss isn’t sorry. She hates Esme. While Trina is sleeping it off, it’s just the two of them.
Joss and Cam go outside. She hopes that Spencer will come to his sense and dump Esme. He suggests they stop talking. They kiss and head back in. When they go into their room, she assures him she’s ready and they have sex. Afterward, they say they are glad they waited.
As Esme and Spencer are driven back to town, he asks her if Joss was right that she got everyone together at the cabin so she could blow up his friendships. She accuses him of being ready to believe the worst.
He wants the truth. Esme flashes back to planting a camera in the bedroom before leaving. She tells Spencer that she only wanted him to have great memories before going to prison. His thinking she is diabolical, just makes her sad.
Meanwhile, the camera she planted records Cam and Joss having sex.

Marshall (temporarily played by Damien Leake)Marshall (temporarily played by Damien Leake) strolls into Kelly’s with a plant for Epiphany to apologize for spoiling their date. He hopes he hasn’t also spoiled the chance to get to know her better.
The nurse is looking grim. She tells him that after talking to his doctor when he was brought in for his health emergency taught her that some dreams deserve to die. She asks if the doctor was right that he only needed to adjust his blood pressure medication.
He changes the topic. The nurse thinks he should be more concerned about his family than her. Marshall claims that things are going okay and keeps turning the subject back to her. He assures her that he would trust her with his life any day.
Curtis joins his aunt at Charlie’s. Stella is back from the wellness center and guesses that he and Portia are doing well too. He admits things are kind of improving with Marshall. His father told him everything. “He did what?” she asks in disbelief.
When says he thinks his father is in the witness protection program, she’s surprised that he believes that. She’s not saying he shouldn’t, she’s just surprised. He’s more surprised when she’s willing to give his father a pass on being upfront and truthful.
Stella isn’t giving him a pass. He worries that trouble could follow his father if he lets him back in. Curtis senses she knows something he doesn’t.
She never suspected his father was into any dirty business. Stella wasn’t around when he left and Irene is dead so they can’t ask her. She suggests he just leave things alone.
Marshall wanders in.
