Fri Feb 2, 2024: Today on General Hospital, Sonny pays his condolences to Laura, Joss and Trina weep over Spencer, and Anna and Jordan try to trap O’Neil.
Thursday’s GH recap: Trina and Laura were devastated Spencer and Esme were presumed dead, Adam rejected his father, and Tracy and Lois planned the wedding.
Kevin welcomes Laura as she arrives at the penthouse.
He holds her and wishes he’d been with her in Paris.
She reminds him he was recovering in the hospital. Besides, there was nothing he could have done.
They sit and she explains how hard it was to hear Spencer couldn’t be found. She and Trina stood on the deck of the boat for a long time.
But they felt that hope slip away. Everyone was very supportive and helpful.
Laura feels like she blinked and now her whole family is gone.
Sonny arrives and gives Laura a hug after she confirms that Spencer is gone. She’s sorry she told him over the phone.
As she weeps, the mobster tells her she will be fine and offers to help any way he can.
Laura explains this isn’t just about Spencer, it’s also about her brother. She thought she knew him but the way he attacked Cyrus makes her doubt that.
Sonny says he made a mistake but Cyrus isn’t worth her trouble. The mayor thinks they owe each other the truth for the sake of their friendship.
She’s had too much violence in her life and can’t take it any more.
Cyrus can be heard arguing with Dex in the hallway. Kevin opens up.
Sonny and Cyrus lock eyes. After Renault is let in, he declares he wants to help his sister walk through her loss.
He laments that he couldn’t protect Spencer in the end and begins quoting The Bible.
This isn’t comforting her so she asks him to go and breaks into tears.
Sonny insists on walking him out. In the hallway, Renault reminds him he gave him a pass on the assault charge, but just the one.
He’s not a saint. Neither is Sonny.
Back in the penthouse, Kevin and Laura talk about loss. She knows he did all he could for his niece.
They don’t think her love for Ace was an act. That may have been the only pure emotion she ever felt.
He assures her there was no way they could have known what would happen after she convinces Esme to turn herself in.
Nikolas shows up with Ace. “Hello mother,” he says.
Nina visits Ava at the penthouse and they talk about what’s happened in Paris. Ava adds that she and Sonny are just lucky to be alive.
The Jerome tells her about the gunfire and assures her all is fine. Sonny hasn’t explained anything.
She assumes that this was the same people who shot Curtis by accident. They try to stay calm.
Ava assures her she won’t be a widow any time soon. “I don’t even know if I’m still a wife,” Nina says.
As she paces, she asks what Sonny talks about…like his marriage. Ava says no. He certainly wouldn’t discuss that with her but he’s wearing his ring.
Ava hopes things work out for them but she suggests that she prepare herself for a life without him. Nina can’t lose him and his family. They’re her family too and she has nothing else.
They talk about Carly getting her old job and how much Drew seems to have changed.
Nina is very grateful for her friendship and impressed by her resilience. She makes her promise to look out for Sonny.
Sonny arrives and informs Ava that Spencer is dead. He’s surprised to see Nina there. She starts telling him how sorry she is but he can’t do this right now.
Ava shows Nina out and then tells Sonny she’s sorry. “Nothing really matters,” he groans.
She’s sure Trina must be gutted about Spencer and pats him on the shoulder.
Jordan and Anna hide guns in a motel room to prepare for their meeting.
They argue about whether they can believe Brennan’s referrals to gun dealers. They sure they can entrap O’Neil into telling them who sold the gun that shot Curtis.
Anna hides in the bathroom as O’Neil arrives and pads Jordan down. He starts showing her his guns.
After she agrees to the price, he says they need to make the payment to his accountant in person.
She refuses to go and he guesses something is off as she reaches for a gun. He grabs her and Anna comes out, ordering him to back off.

As Carly leaves Bobbie’s for work, she bumps into John (played by Adam Harrington), who explains he used to work there when it was Kelly’s.
She welcomes him back and he goes in to eat.
Olivia and Leo rush up to her. Liv sends Leo inside and then asks Carly about the article in the City Gazette.
She shows it to Carly, who assumes that Nina was behind it. Olivia was hoping Nina would make peace.
Carly confronts her about keeping Nina’s secrets. Olivia claims nothing she knew could have changed anything.
Her friend still can’t understood why she shielded Nina, especially when she was letting Ned take the blame.
Olivia says a blow-up would have made everything worse.
Inside, John spots Leo with his spinner and starts talking to him. He shows him his ID. He’s from the FBI.
They talk about animals. Olivia spots them from outside and rushes in.
Leo introduces her to John and she sends him to the bathroom. John guesses Leo is on the spectrum. So is his son.
He approached him because he could see he was getting agitated and decided to distract him.
He steps away for a call and then rushes off.
Meanwhile, Olivia tells Carly that she will crush it at Crimson and promises not to hide the truth from her in the future.
Leo joins them and asks if they are done arguing. They say they are getting back on the same wavelength and hug.
Back at the motel, Anna and Jordan have guns on O’Neil. They threaten to turn him over to the Feds if he doesn’t tell them what they want to know.
Before he can say anything, John and the Feds burst in and order them to drop their weapons.
Anna offers to lower their weapons.
She suddenly recognizes John as “Jagger.”
Joss is surprised when Trina shows up at the dorm.
Trina informs her that Spencer is dead.
The police don’t expect to find the bodies.
They assume that they were carried out to sea. Joss is sorry and gives her a hug.
As Trina weeps, she recalls the struggle on the boat that resulted in Spencer and Esme going into the water.
She recalls how she didn’t believe Spencer was gone in Greenland.
Now, she wants to believe but something tells her this time there will be no happy ending.
Joss asks what her plans are. Trina doesn’t think she can go back to Paris.
She’s taking a semester off to live with her parents.
They talk about how hard it was to lose Oscar.
Joss says that was different but the way your heart hurts is the same.
Trina feels like it took so long her for and Spencer to be together and it was over in a heartbeat.
They have to tell Cam. Joss calls and breaks the news.
