Thurs Feb 1, 2024: Today on General Hospital, Drew sets some new ground rules with Michael, Adam refuses to go home with his father, and Lois realizes she needs to let BLQ have the wedding she wants.
Wednesday’s GH recap: Spencer and Esme fell overboard after she drugged him, and Carly celebrated a win against Tracy.
Dante and Laura are on the ship in France. He spoke to the local police. The captain Esme attacked has ID’s her but the search for Spencer hasn’t found either of them yet.
Inside, Trina flashes back to Esme and Spencer struggling before going overboard. Portia and Curtis enter to hug her.
Ned let them use his jet to come and they assure her the authorities are doing all they can.
Portia recaps the fight. Spencer saved her life again. She thought she lost him in Greenland so she knows in her heart he’s alive.
Laura joins them and urges her to trust her heart. There’s no word yet on finding him.
She asks about what happened and Trina explains Esme wanted to drug Spencer and use him to bargain for her son.
Dante enters and he doesn’t have good news. They’ve been the water for 24 hours and it has become a recovery mission.
The cop explains that Spencer is now presumed dead. Distraught Trina runs off, yelling she knows he’s alive.
Portia chases after her and Curtis gives Laura his condolences before wheeling off.
Dante wishes he could help but Laura knows nothing can be done and begins to weep. She runs through what-ifs and how things could have gone so differently.
She can’t imagine a world without Spencer.
On deck, Trina sobs as she asks her mom how she’s supposed to let Spencer go.
Trina looks out at the water and remembers that Spencer loved to swim but hates the cold. She wonders why they didn’t see Esme for what she was.
Portia tells her that Spencer is a hero and saw to it that Esme can’t hurt anyone else.
Her daughter wants time alone to weep. She looks out and wonders how to say goodbye.
In a room, Curtis tells Portia the authorities will search for another 48 hours but if they find nothing, they will assume they are lost.
The odds aren’t good they will find the body. He’d like to spare their daughter seeing him if they find him.
Portia wanted Spencer out of their lives, but not like this.
Dante and Laura go on deck to see Trina. Laura tells her to take as much time as she needs and gives her a kiss.
They leave her alone and she flashes back to the past few weeks with Spencer.
“This isn’t goodbye. Some way…” she says.
The turtledoves wash up on shore.

At the Quartermaine estate, Lois pitches a church in Bensonhurst as a wedding venue for Chase and BLQ. They’ve already asked Gregory to officiate.
Lois asks about the reception. They are thinking a yacht. Lois recalls that she and Ned were married on a yacht and it almost sank and killed everyone.
She suggests they could have a moonlight cruise by Coney Island. That leaves the bride and groom speechless.
Tracy arrives and Lois immediately begs her to just think of what the bride and groom want. She flashes back to Gregory begging her to do the same.
Lois keeps going on about the wedding and how important it is for BLQ to get married in her neighborhood.
Tracy eventually coughs out an agreement. Gregory almost bursts out laughing.
Lois is amazed that Tracy can look beyond being “snooty.”
BLQ and Chase ask to speak to her grandmother alone.
Once they are, Tracy says they can thank her for agreeing to whatever Lois has planned.
“We were counting on you to say ‘no’,” BLQ says. She loves the old neighborhood but they want a Port Charles wedding. That’s where they fell in love.
Tracy urges her to tell her mom that but BLQ says her mom is eager for the chance to have the kind of wedding the family always had.
Tracy promises that they will have the wedding they want.
They calls Lois and Gregory back in. Tracy whispers to him that agreeing with Lois took years off her life.
Cerullo declares that she will take care of everything. Tracy shuts this down and announces she will be taking control of the plans and having the wedding there.
Chase and BLQ confirm that this is what they want. Lois doesn’t think it sounds fun. Tracy says that happens the night before the wedding.
They are shocked when she suggests they have the rehearsal in “Coney Island.” Lois wonders why she didn’t think of that.
“Nail polish removed, silent killer,” snaps Tracy before saying they can have a carnival and rockers or whatever.
Lois thinks they should fly everyone to the real Coney Island and Gregory would love to see Tracy on the slingshot.
BLQ and Chase love this. Gregory and Tracy exit.
Lois admits her wedding plans were almost identical to all the other weddings in the family. She wants her daughter to have the wedding of her dreams.
In the foyer, Gregory tells Tracy she amazes him. He’s sure that if he can get Alexis into a parachute, he can get her into the slingshot.
Drew arrives in Carly’s Crimson office as she panics about putting her first issue out. He assures her it is only a matter of time before she surpasses Nina.
He’s sure making her editor-in-chief is the best decision he ever made.
Michael interrupts to congratulate his mom on her new job, sure she’ll knock it out of the ballpark.
He wants to speak to Drew and his mom suggests they use her office. She exits, telling Drew to go easy on him.
Michael informs Drew he’s resigning. He thinks he should have been consulted about his plan to fire Nina and hire Carly.
He rehashes what happened with the SEC and why he didn’t want to break his father’s heart after they reconciled.
Drew guesses that Sonny blames his son as much as Nina. Michael knows he owed Drew teh truth and thinks he should replace him with someone he trusts.
Drew says Nina caused all the harm. The books are balanced and he wants him there but with ground rules.
He needs assurances that he can trust him. Drew explains he’s planning to make Nina pay for all she did to him. He’s determined to make her as alone, broke and empty as she deserves to be.
Michael won’t be part of a vendetta, even if he wants Nina to lose everything. This just proves to Drew that he’s the right person to be CEO.
In the GH corridor, Felicia and Joss discuss Adam. Joss just thinks he should be allowed to live his life and asks her to help him.
Willow brings Adam his guitar in his hospital room. He wasn’t sure what happened to it. The nurse explains Joss rescued it from the park.
His father arrives. He was hoping he’d outgrown the guitar and says it’s time they get his priorities straight.
As he starts demanding answers for his behavior, Willow tells him to stop badgering the patient.
Joss and Felicia arrive and tell him to stop. Felicia needs to speak to Adam privately.
Carly arrives to back up teh others and Willow threatens to call security if Adam’s father doesn’t leave.
Everyone files out so Adam can talk to Felicia. She tells him he has a second chance at life and how he lives it is his choice.
She sits with him to say that he can have help if he asks for it.
By the nurses’ station, Joss tells Adam’s dad that music is what gives his son a reason to live. If he wants to do what’s best for his son, he needs to think about what he cares about.
Joss is called in to see Adam. He thanks her for his guitar and for saving his life.
She says she was just doing what a friend does and promises to be his friend as long as he listens.
They walk out and his father wants to take him home. Adam refuses.
His father thinks this is foolish but Adam is determined to go to PCU and study music, even if that means he has to get a job and put himself through school.
He tells his dad he can call him. His father walks off and Joss hugs Adam.
