General Hospital recap for Thursday, February 9, 2023. In today’s GH episode, Alexis offers Gregory a job, Obrecht wants to help Willow, and Sonny comforts Nina.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Michael and Willow named their baby, Liz called Scott for legal advice, and Laura confronted Ava about her fight with Nikolas.
At General Hospital, Willow tells Austin that holding her baby reminded her she can handle anything with her family behind her.
He’s not saying any more until Terry arrives. When she does, Austin explains she’s healing nicely but there were complications.
Terry explains they were not able to harvest enough stem cells from the umbilical cord. This treatment is no longer an option.
Sitting down, Terry explains that the TNC count in the cord blood was too low. Michael asks about HLA cells but Terry explains they weren’t a close enough match.
Willow knew this would be a possibility but didn’t want to believe it.
Michael asks what’s next. Terry says a bone marrow transplant is still an option. It’s too late for more chemo. All they can do is manage the illness.
Terry is wishy washy about how much time she has left but it’s likely weeks. Austin adds it’s a best guess.
Willow needs some time alone. The doctors file out. Austin thinks they need to discuss palliative care but Terry thinks they should wait.
Carly tells Willow she will find a donor and exits. Willow stares.
She tells Michael she loves him but needs to be alone. He kisses her forehead and exits.
Staring at her machines, she flashes back to times with Wiley and Michael and weeps.
Once he returns, he promises to make calls to get her some cutting edge treatment.
She knows there is nothing he wouldn’t do, but all she wants is to have a conversation about his life without her.
Carly walks the halls, calling Drew to ask him to call her back.
Nina and Sonny are in the waiting room. He’s sorry that Willow is keeping her at arm’s length while she worries.
She hopes her daughter will go into remission and they can look to the future. She tells herself that everything will work out.
He’s sure that Willow will come around to accepting her as a mother. Nina is determined to prove how much she can be depended on. She suggests that same thing could happen for him and Michael.
Sonny gets an idea. He gets Donna and they discuss breakfast before he introduces her to baby Amelia.
Nina looks in at the baby and tells her how much she loves her. She will always be there for her.
Donna looks in and Sonny tells her that her niece will want her to look after her. That’s what families do.
They walk down the hall and bump into Carly. Donna notices she’s upset.
Carly explains that Willow doesn’t have much time.
Nina shows up. Things and uncomfortable. Carly takes her daughter off for hot chocolate after Donna gives everyone hugs.
Rubbing his head, Sonny tells Nina there will be no stem cell transplant. Willow doesn’t have much time.
Shaking her head, Nina says that’s not right. She just found her. He holds her.
It’s hard for Nina to have hope given what’s happened to her other daughters. She wonders if they have been punished for her mistakes.
Sonny doesn’t believe that. They won’t give up. Willow’s just been dealt a bad hand.

At Liz’s, she tells Scott she needs legal advice. Once he assures her this is privileged and he can get her out of any mess, she explains she’s been part of a crime in progress for months.
A few people know about it. Before she can explain, Ava shows up. She assumes Scott is there for the boys but he admits it’s legal business.
Ava asks him to give them some privacy to discuss Nikolas. Reluctantly, he exits.
Ava admits she knows everything. Nikolas told her. She almost admires Liz for what she did.
The nurse regrets her involvement and wants to fix things by turning herself in. Ava doesn’t see what good that will do.
Liz apologizes for the headache this will cost her when the cops show up on Spoon Island. But she can’t live with this.
Ava asks if her children can live without her.
Liz insists she can’t live with this. Ava says that the prince is already worried that she’s been having a crisis of conscience. She claims he’s left town.
That means that Liz will be left to pay for his crimes alone. She doubts they will ever see him again.
Liz says this doesn’t erase what she did but Ava urges her not to ruin her life. The nurse wonders why the Jerome is so concerned about what she does.
Ava tells her she can blow up her life, but she knows what it’s like to be in love with Nikolas and then see him destroy everything. She doesn’t want to see anyone else suffer because of him.
Liz needs to own what she did. Ava doesn’t get it and pushes her about how much going to prison will hurt the people in her life.
Back at the hospital, Obrecht asks Finn why Liz went to see Scott. He flashes back to the nurse confessing everything that happened with Nikolas to him.
She can see he knows something and asks him to let her help. He’s defensive but she claims she cares about her since she fell for Scott.
If Liz is in over her head, she has the skills to help but only if he tells her what’s going on. He’s keeping his mouth shut.
Scott shows up and his schnitzel demands to know what Liz wanted. Finn is concerned too.
The lawyer snaps at him and won’t say a word. Finn takes off.
They find Nina and Sonny and learn about what’s happened with Willow.
Obrecht decides to step in and rushes over to Terry. She asks to be tested for a bone marrow match.
Finn shows up at Liz’s, where Ava is still talking to her. She abruptly leaves and calls Austin, telling him they have a huge problem.
Back in the house, Liz tells Finn that Ava has claimed that Nikolas has left town.
At The Invader office, Alexis tells Gregory that someone from the editorial board is retiring. She thinks he would be an asset and could start immediately.
He’s flattered but has to decline. She’s bewildered. She thought he wanted to try something new.
He made a commitment to the university. He can’t walk away.
She claims they can be flexible until his semester is over and then he can work full time. She wonders if he’s scared of following his heart.
He admits that something new is daunting but he’s not holding back because he’s scared. He likes teaching.
She tells him he can do both. He’s not sure how accommodating the university will be.
She’s sure he wants this and they can work it out. Eventually, he agrees.
