General Hospital recap for Friday, January 13, 2023. In today’s GH episode, Michael learns that Nina is Willow’s mother, Portia worries about Trina’s attachment to Spencer, and Spencer and Alexis discuss Esme.
We also have Friday’s GH recap where Willow’s family gathered at the hospital, and Drew prompted Carly to finally tell Nina the truth about her daughter.
Trina is playing cards with Curtis and Portia at their place. They wonder who she keeps texting. She admits it’s Spencer.
Portia didn’t realize she still considered him a friend. Her daughter tells her how hard things have been for him.
The doctor thinks his other friends can help him. She worries that she’s already going through a lot right now.
They ask her how she thinks about Esme being caught. She’s conflicted.
She wanted revenge on Esme and part of her still does.
Curtis says that’s only human. Trina doesn’t really feel that way after seeing how vulnerable Esme was.
If the doctor’s are right, could amnesia change Esme?
Trina is sure she is a psycho but not a serial killer. Her mom says Esme still needs to face the consequences of her actions.
Trina wants to move on. Her mom asks what role Spencer is playing in that.
She tells them Spencer has been there for her since Rory died. Her mom still doesn’t understand how she can let him back in.
Trina understands her concerns but her eyes are open and she can see how much Spencer has changed over the past year.
Her mom thinks the Cassadines are dangerous and burn everyone who comes in contact with them. She starts venting about how amoral they are.
Trina says that Spencer is his own name. Her mom says he’s a felon.
“He’s not your friend mom, he’s mine,” Trina says.
After she storms upstairs, Curtis prods Portia to open up and hands her some win. She thought that Trina put Spencer in the past and she can’t allow that.
Alexis meets with Spencer at Sonny’s and he starts venting about how everything is going wrong. He’s scared that there is someone running around that’s more unhinged than Esme.
He admits he spoke to her and she does seem to have amnesia. He almost wishes she was guilty so this would be over.
They chat about Esme adding to the Cassadine family free.
He assures her he won’t hold a grudge against the baby. But he worries about Esme running off with the child.
She points out Esme has legal problems. Besides, Nikolas wants full custody and stands a good chance of getting it.
They wonder who the killer could be but have no answers. Spencer realizes there is one person who is very devoted to Esme: her old nanny.

At General Hospital, Drew tells Michael that Carly is with Nina. Michael doesn’t think that can be good.
Drew explains that Nina could be a bone marrow match. It turns out, she’s Willow’s mother.
Michael is stunned, furious, confused, and wanders off.
Sonny finds Joss outside of Willow’s room.
She tells him something has come up and she has to go.
He offers to stay by Willow’s side so she takes off.
When Sonny sits with her, he tells her that she’s a fighter.
He wishes he could take care of her and Michael. His son can’t lose her.
Everyone needs her, including him. Losing her would mean there is no hope of his family getting back together again.
Even if that doesn’t happen, he still wants her to get better.
Michael walks in and Sonny immediately leaves them alone.
Sitting at Willow’s side, Michael tells her he could hear her voice in his head encouraging him to go after his father.
He begs her not to say their lives will be cut short.
“I need you. You’re my conscience,” he says, taking her hand. She wakes up.
They recall how she collapsed and she worries that Wiley saw it. She senses there is something he’s not telling her.
When he mentions Nina, she says she never wants to hear her name again.
In the chapel, Carly tells Nina that Willow is sick. There’s more she can do to help her than pray. She may be the only person on earth who can help.
Carly tells her to get tested now. Nina wonders why she’s come to her personally.
Carly explains she’s the most likely match. Nina thinks they are only connected by Wiley.
“Nelle isn’t your only daughter…Willow is too,” Carly explains.
Nina needs an explanation. Carly says she had twins while in her coma.
Phyllis didn’t know about the second baby. Madeline gave Willow to Harmony.
Nina squints in disbelief.
Carly admits that Harmony told her this when she died last year.
Nina says that’s not evidence and she’s being irresponsible.
Carly says she knows it’s true. She ran a DNA test and the results were conclusive.
Nina wants her own tests and suggests this is some bizarre attempt at revenge.
Carly reminds her that Willow needs a donor right now.
Nina flashes back to her many fights with Willow, then calls Carly a monster.
“Go to hell you selfish bitch! I’m going to go save my daughter!” Nina declares storming out.
Sonny bumps into Drew in the hallway.
He tells him it’s good he’s there to give Michael support.
The mobster asks him why Carly is with Nina right now instead of her son.
Drew claims it’s not his place to say. Sonny gets threatening.
Carly pops up and tells him to back off.
Down the hall, Nina bursts into Willow’s room. Willow wants her out of her life for good.
“I’m sorry, but your life may depend on me,” Nina explains.
At the PCPD, Jordan offers to take the lead on the case if Dante is exhausted. Joss shows up to answer Dante’s questions.
She’s startled when he brings her to the interrogation room and Robert and Jordan are waiting.
They sit around the table and show her the video footage they got from the pier.
They can see that Britt saved her life and wonder if she can help them ID the killer.
She’s cagey. They think she was the intended target the night Brando was killed.
They’ll only be able to protect if she talks to them.
Diane barges in and tells her not to say a word.
After she has some time alone with her client, she invites the DA and cops to listen to her statement.
Joss explains what happened on the pier and how Britt came in swinging her bag and told her to run. She only found out about Britt a few hours ago.
Diane and Robert bicker about her being there just so Joss can answer some questions.
Diane says she’s following Jason’s example.
The lawyer cuts it short and Robert offers to walk her out.
Dante asks Joss for a moment. He tells her he’s sorry about all this. She would have come to him if she knew anything useful.
Dante asks what the family emergency she had was.
