General Hospital recap for Friday, December 23, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Sonny is surprised to bump into Sasha, Maxie gets some help from Austin, and Ellie realizes Spinelli wants Maxie back.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Spencer and Trina hatched a plot to lure Esme out and the earring led the police to Ryan and Heather.
Austin and Brook Lynn clean up at the Quartermaine estate.
Ned and Olivia thank him for the gift he gave Leo and he thanks them for letting him stay.
Ned worries to Olivia that they haven’t made enough food for guests.
She reminds him that Monica is under the weather so they will have to stretch it.
Cody shows up and explains that the roads have been closed.
Since he has nowhere to go, Olivia insists that he stay.
She assures Ned she can whip up more food in the kitchen.
TJ and Molly show up after being stranded while caroling.
Meanwhile, Austin admits to Brook Lynn that he knows she’s not crazy about him being there.
She says they all screw up. He guesses she’s admitting to something.
A pregnant woman shows up. She was in a live nativity scene and her car won’t start and the roads are out.
Olivia insists that she stay and eat dinner with them. She tells Cody they will need a bigger lasagna.
At Nina’s, she tries to convince Britt to stay but she has lots of plans for the day.
After Nina and Maxie give her a hug, Liesl walks her out.
In the hallway, she tells her daughter she doesn’t need to act like this is her last Christmas.
She tells her not to live every day like it’s her last, but like it’s her first.
Back inside, Nina asks how Maxie is doing and tells her it’s okay to be sad after her breakup.
Maxie insists it was the right thing to do and she’s going to Portland to be with Georgie.
She gets a text informing her that her flight has been canceled.
In Portland, Ellie (played by Emily Wilson) thanks Spinelli for being Georgie.
He tells her she will always be her third parent and thanks her for letting him invite Maxie.
Maxie calls them to announce that her flight has been canceled and she can’t make it until tomorrow.
Georgie tells her it will be too late and she doesn’t need to bother.
After she stomps off, Spinelli offers to talk to their daughter.
He tries but his daughter is furious. She stays in her room and Ellie accuses him of falling for Maxie again.
He admits he was hoping that their getting together as a family could help that along.
Ellie suggests they make a miracle happen for Georgie.
Back at Nina’s, Liesl scoffs at Maxie when she announces that her flight has been canceled.
Obrecht says there are other options to explore to get her to her daughter.
Nina makes some calls and suggests a private jet.
Maxie calls Brook Lynn and asks if her family has one to spare.
When Brook Lynn tells Austin about Maxie’s problem and how hard it is to get her to an airplane hangar in Canada, he offers to take care of it.
He calls Mason and asks him to prepare a boat to take someone to Toronto.
Brook Lynn calls Maxie and tells her the plan. Liesl insists on going to the boat with Maxie and they race off.

Back at the Quartermaine estate, Olivia explains to Ned who the random pregnant woman is and why she couldn’t turn her away.
He worries that the spice in her sauce is too much for a pregnant woman.
Olivia dismisses this. The woman’s water breaks.
Liv sends Ned to fetch blankets and pillows and they help her onto the floor.
Molly reminds everyone that TJ is a doctor. So is Austin.
As she goes into labor, Austin takes Cody aside to tell him this is not a normal pregnancy. They need a real OBGYN.
Sonny is surprised to find Sasha in the garage. She accidentally tripped the alarm.
Taking off his jacket, he insists on helping her with an engine.
Britt shows up and announces that her car spun out a few blocks away. This is not how she wanted to spend her last Christmas in Port Charles.
“Last? Are you going somewhere?” Sasha asks.
Cody calls Britt and tells her a woman is giving birth at the Quartermaine’s right now. Austin gets on the line and says she’s in breach and they can’t get to a hospital, so he needs her to talk him through this.
Laura drops by Jordan’s office and tells her how bad the roads are. It’s a disaster out there.
Back at the Quartermaine’s, Austin tells Olivia and Ned they need to get the baby to the hospital as soon as it’s born.
Sasha and Britt drive up on a motorcycle to help with the birth.
After checking out the situation, Britt explains the baby is upside-down but she has three doctors to help her.
Once the baby is born, it cries and the mother says it’s perfect. She decides to name the child Britta Noel.
Britt doesn’t mind that at all.
Brook Lynn thanks Austin for what he did for Maxie. She admits he may have some redeeming qualities.
Jordan arrives with the EMTs and is surprised to see her son there.
Olivia says they have all earned a gold star.
Ned decides everyone should stay so they can celebrate together.
Cody and Britt keep exchanging glances but she avoids him.
Maxie arrives at the Edmonton airport and tells the clerk she needs to catch a flight to Portland.
He tells her no one can take off tonight with the storm and hands her a candy cane.
She tries calling Spinelli but can’t get through.
He suddenly shows up with Georgie. They are thrilled to see each other.
She thanks him for always being there for her. The three of them hug and then eat pizza.
Back at home, Ellie gets a call from Griffin.
Sonny shows up at Nina’s with a wreath.
At Liz’s, she looks at the photo of Finn over the fireplace and gets glum. Cam jogs in and tells her she can talk to him if she’s not okay.
She insists she’s fine.
Scott enters after being exhausted by the kids outside. Cam goes out to replace him.
The lawyer asks Liz which man she’s moping over today. He and Laura are both worried about her.
She insists she’s fine but admits that her parents’ absence feels final this year.
He knows she’s down but she’s the most resilient woman he’s ever met. Reminding her of what a great home she has made for the kids, he tells her that her parents are fools.
Franco may be gone, but she is still a Baldwin. They hug.
Laura shows up and offers Liz any help she needs.
Liz thanks Laura and Scott for all their support and the three of them hug.
Obrecht eventually shows up with some mistletoe and kisses Scott.
