General Hospital recap for Friday, January 6, 2023. In today’s GH episode, Joss learns Britt died, Nina stops her aunt from killing Esme and kidnapping her baby, and Spencer is shocked Britt died.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Austin and Obrecht discussed Britt’s final days, Nina informed Brad and Maxie of Britt’s illness, and Dante doesn’t get anything out of Nikolas, so Obrecht went rogue.
At the hospital, Nina looks through Britt’s effects and tells herself this isn’t fair.
Sonny and Frank appear and Frank takes the box to Nina’s car. She’s not doing well and is worried about her aunt.
Scott says she’s broken.
Nina’s not sure where she is and Sonny asks if she knows Esme’s here.
Nina freaks out and runs.
Michael and Willow and Wiley head into the stable.
The kid says he’s not cold and comments about his mom being tired. He can’t wait for his kid sibling to come.
Outside, Drew talks to someone on a call about Josiah, trying to get his address.
He heads inside and Wiley wants to introduce him to the new foal, Thor.
They guys go outside. Willow tells her husband she’ll get through this and Drew returns to them kissing while he tells them Melanie lured Wiley into the house with hot chocolate.
They talk about there being no match yet for a bone marrow transplant. When asked, they talk about her visiting Josiah.
She doesn’t remember it though. Shiloh made Harmony cut ties with Josiah when they joined the cult. Drew asks her to talk to Carly, to check-in.
Dr. Randolph calls Willow who asks if her results are back. “Is the chemo working?”
She learns she got a bone marrow donor and cries happy tears on Michael’s shoulder.
Joss heads into the kitchen to find Dex with Carly and mossy.
He wanted to tell her about Dr. Westbourne. She acts like she doesn’t already know and Carly tells her what happened.
Joss is glad nobody got hurt but Dex and Carly look upset.
They tell her Britt died. Joss says she was fine.
Carly tells her about the scratch and poison from the hook which made her collapse and die in Liesl’s arms.
Joss tries to come to grips with this. She blames herself. She was the intended target. Thanks to Dex and Britt, she got away.
She doesn’t know who the hook was. Carly asks why she didn’t wait for the cops. Joss was freaked out. “You left Britt alone?”
Joss says she told them to. She wasn’t wounded. Dex says he was carrying a gun Sonny gave him for work. Carly sighs dramatically.
It wasn’t registered and he was concerned. Joss asks Dex to go. She walks him out and says she wants to explain to her mom that he didn’t talk her into anything.
He asks if there are regrets. “Not a one.”
She goes back inside and tells her mama the whole story. “Britt saved my life and it cost her her own.” She later reveals she broke up with Cam last night, too.
She says he was so hurt but everything was so clear for her. She thinks of what she would have done differently.
Spencer visits Cam at Kelly’s for coffee. They talk about Esme being caught and pregnant.
Cam’s shocked. Spence asks if he has tips on being a good big brother.
He explains that his dad slept with Esme and got her pregnant and now she claims she’s amnesic. If Esme’s not the hook, they need to protect Trina.
He notices Cam is acting strangely and Cam reluctantly admits he and Joss broke up. Spencer asks if it’s Dex’s fault. Cam doesn’t think so. They talk about Spence and Trina setting themselves up as bait.

Obrecht lets herself into Esme’s room at the hospital.
She says she’s had her daughter taken from her and wants her pound of flesh.
Outside, Nikolas and Liz discuss how Esme and the baby are okay.
He wishes he could get into her room to talk but Liz says it’s not going to happen.
He wonders if her amnesia is real.
Back inside Esme’s room, Liesl threatens her with a syringe.
Esme doesn’t know her daughter and begs.
Liesl stuffs her mouth with a cloth and tells her that “you scratched her with that infernal hook and she died in my arms. It’s your turn!”
She rants at her and Esme shows the doctor her belly. Liesl gasps. “You’re pregnant?” Esme nods, sobbing.
Outside, Nina and Sonny appear.
They don’t see anything amiss so Nina goes in search of her aunt while Nikolas tells Sonny that Esme’s pregnant with his baby.
Sonny slams Nik into the hub and punches his face.
Meanwhile, Nina heads into Esme’s room and finds Liesl has injected Esme with something. Esme’s passed out.
Nina rushes into Esme’s room and learns Obrecht has only given Esme a sedative to get her to sleep.
She picks up a pillow and they fight over it. Liesl wouldn’t hurt the baby. She’ll take her from her.
Nina tells her this isn’t justice and she should take it from her. This is a bad idea.
She’ll be the villain again and Esme will be the martyr. Britt wouldn’t have wanted that for her mama.
She takes her aunt out of the room and shoves her into an elevator while Nik tells Liz he told Sonny about Esme. “Do you have a death wish?” She asks.
She tells him to stop hanging around Esme’s room. She goes to Esme, who wakes up and begs for her life. Liz convinces her she’s having a bad dream.
Sonny goes to Kelly’s to tell Cam and Spencer there was another hook attack last night.
Spencer asks if he knows about his father and Esme. Sonny doesn’t want to discuss that.
Someone else died. Spencer’s rocked when he tells him it’s Britt. He doesn’t think it’s possible. He saw her last night and she was having the time of her life.
Sonny explains the hook attacked her. Spencer takes off upset. He returns and Cam goes back to work while Sonny puts Dex off when he interrupts.
Spencer learns Britt wasn’t alone and is grateful. Spencer’s so tired so Sonny invites him to come home with him.
When they leave, Dex and Cam look at one another.
Liesl and Nina sit at Nina’s home and Liesl just feels tired.
She goes to rest in Nina’s bed and Nina goes through the rest of Britt’s things, not yet seeing the file with Dr. Randolph’s name and Willow having chemotherapy listed on the front.
