In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Daniel tries explaining Summer’s position to Phyllis, Diane asks Jack about kissing, and Nate has an idea for Audra. In the previous episode, Diane agreed to prove herself to Stark by stealing from Nikki, while Lily and Billy’s therapy was a disaster, and Summer and Kyle fought.

At the Abbott estate, Diane admits to Jack that she’s having second thoughts about stealing from Nikki and making things worse.
Jack assures her he can smooth things over later.
Ashley walks in, appalled to see them conspiring together.
The siblings bicker about Jenkins being there. Jack insists she’s his guest.
Ashley guffaws and strides out when Diane claims she doesn’t want to create problems.
Jack assures her she’s not to blame. Besides, they should drop the Stark issue for now.
At his penthouse, Devon gets a call filling him in about possible connections between Audra and Tucker. He asks for the full report.
Audra shows up at Tucker’s suite and demands to know why he hasn’t been answering her texts.
He reminds her he’s the boss and has other concerns.
She explains that she’s convinced Lily and Jill to move on with the IPO without Devon’s approval. She thinks it’s time for them to strategize.
Audra is baffled when he claims he needs to contemplate this and hustles her out the door.
As she exits, she hopes he’s in a better mood when he gets back to her.
Once she’s in the fall, Devon sends her a text, demanding to meet.
Devon arrives in the office. Lily is still there. She didn’t want to go home because of Billy.
Before she can explain, Audra arrives. Devon announces they have a new traitor in the company.
Lily narrows her eyes. Her brother explains that Audra and Tucker have been in touch.
He’s discovered all her student debt was paid off by a company owned by his father.
Devon points out that she and Tucker showed up in town at the same time. Lily asks if they have been working together all along.
She admits she knows him from London but that has nothing to do with the work she’s been doing. If they disrupt the IPO again, it will only make the company look weak.
Lily can’t deal with this and fires her, demanding security take her out of the building.
After she storms out, Audra offers to leave if Devon feels the way. Explaining that she knows about Tucker’s business and goals, she says she can be an asset.
Devon doesn’t think he can trust her.
She points out that she already knows a lot about his company and he doesn’t want her as an enemy.
He threatens to take her to court. This is the end of their working relationship and he wants her out.
“It’s your loss,” she says, telling him he’s a lousy judge of character. She wonders how he’s made it as far as he has.

Ashley shows up at Tucker’s door and vents about Diane before handing him a bottle of wine.
She complains that Diane is like a virus and has turned Jack into a sucker.
Every day she wakes up to a new Diane Hell. He chuckles and uncorks, saying this feels heavenly to him.
He’s sorry she’s upset, but he likes her shifting from cool to wild. The situation with Diane has awakened the spark in her that he loves.
Stroking her hair, he tells her how much he loves the way she can come and be real with him. He finds that sexy.
“What are you going to do about it?” she asks, putting down her wine.
They start making out.
After they have sex, they laugh in bed and he tells her that was fire. He missed that.
Tucker hopes she can see how strong they are together. She hates that she loves this.
Resting on his shoulder, she says there is no evidence they actually work.
He suggests they keep testing. Ashley says she’s too smart to fall for him again.
“I guess being with me is the smart choice,” he says.
She insists that what happened with them doesn’t mean anything about their future.
He tells her she can stay as long as she wants and even offers her space in his closet, but he won’t push it.
As he gets up to order room service, she starts going through his papers and discovers some reports from Jabot.
“He’s targeting us,” she mumbles.
He catches her, explaining the files came from Diane. He was looking into the company but has changed his plans.
Her sway over him has altered his agenda.
She keeps her distance. He hopes she can see that what’s happening between them is real.
Devon starts banging on the door.
Bursting in, he confronts him about his collusion with Audra and declares their relationship is over.
Tucker doesn’t know what went down between them. Devon says he no longer has access to the company, him, or his son.
His father insists he’s only ever wanted to help and support him.
Devon accuses him of trying to take over his family’s company. He refuses to listen to any explanations.
Ashley wipes away tears as Devon rails about McCall’s betrayal.
Tucker warns that he’s getting close to crossing the line.
His son suggests he leave town tonight because he will make it his mission to make sure no one ever trust him.
After Devon has stormed out, Tucker apologizes for her having to see that.
She claims she never trusted him or thought he could sink any lower.
She walks out on him. After he has thrown some papers, Tucker sits down and puts on his shoes.
Audra bumps into Nate at Society. She claims she’s celebrating so they drink together.
She explains she’s moved on from Chancellor-Winters. They don’t need her for what’s next.
She’s leaving town to face new challenges. He says that if she’ll think about sticking around, he may have just the opportunity for her.
He’s looking for a COO and suggests she throw her hat in the ring. If it all works out, they could have plenty more to drink to.
They toast to that.
Daniel and Phyllis talk business at Crimson Lights. He’s eager to build a loyal team and starts worrying about her vibes.
He thinks she’s unfocused and reminds her she needs to start setting the tone.
She knows what he means and starts venting about Summer betraying her at Marchetti.
Her son tells her to move on to her new job. She jokes she shouldn’t be working with her kids. He’s not laughing and accuses her of treating him like a second choice.
She insists that she is very excited to be in charge of the tech team at Omegasphere.
He’s disappointed she hasn’t bothered to look at any of the resumes he sent her.
His mom claims she’s just tired and will be okay in the morning.
Sniffling, she explains her feelings are hurt because her daughter chose Diane over her.
He points out that Summer’s eyes are very open where Diane is concerned. She’s making these choices because of Kyle.
Daniel tells her to try to see things from her daughter’s point of view. She needs her support right now. She needs her to be the bigger person.
He encourages her to be subtle and apologetic. Be empathetic.
When Lily walks in, he’s instantly distracted and his mom notices.
She thanks him for all he said and leaves to find her daughter.
Once she’s gone, he sidles up to Lily. She tells him something worrying has happned.
He worries it could affect his project. She’s reassuring.
Daniel offers to listen to her problems but she doesn’t want to talk about them.
She admits she should rest, but if she goes home… Lily suggests they just sit and talk about things that don’t matter.
Back at the Abbott estate, Diane is about to leave when she suggests she and Jack discuss her desire to kiss him again. She wants him to know her feelings aren’t a holdover from the past, but based on real friendship.
She’s not sure how she can pretend to tolerate Stark when she cares so much about him.
Diane thinks they should clarify their feelings. He cares a lot about her. They kiss.
Phyllis arrives and watches them through the door.
Diane tells him she’s going to her hotel alone. He wasn’t suggesting otherwise.
“Too bad,” she says.
He repeats that they will handle this together.
Tucker goes to Glam Club and finds Phyllis moping.
He asks her if she’s ready to burn it all down.
