At the bar, Dante proposes a bottled beer toast to Sam, attributing it to a well-deserved night out.

Sam can’t help but wonder what the foursome is up to. Dante claims not to give a damn. He’s off duty and with his girl, and they don’t matter.

Dante tells Sam that she did an incredible job officiating at Michael’s wedding. She looked so beautiful in that pink dress, being all-appropriate, official, and smoking hot at the same time.

Spencer, Trina, Joss, and Dex enter the bar and take seats at a table. So much for nobody knowing they are there, hopes for Dante.

Joss and Trina say great minds think alike and it’s good to be back there again. The two of them are focused on getting dirt on Esme. They both agree, this time, though, they were smart and brought along backup.

Spencer can’t believe it’s come to this. Dex assures him that these types of places are not uncommon and are readily accessible all around the world.  They have their advantages and serve their purpose, according to Dex.

Joss hopes they can find something real that ties to Haggerty. Something like the evidence that his uncle Victor let him. Trina cringes and admits to Spencer that it just kinda came out when they were talking.

Joss understands how he would want to use that and he clarifies it is more than enough to take Esme down. He claims his uncle was a pro and would hold up to scrutiny. Trina then insists that Spencer must have kept the fake evidence.

Spencer claims that the fake evidence is his plan B if Esme begins to show any signs of being her old self again. Dex explains that just handing evidence to police isn’t exactly easy oftentimes. Spencer is confused as to how. Dex says getting a boatload of evidence all at once raises red flags and extra vetting.

Spencer gets testy and says he really doesn’t need Dexter’s help or opinion. He demands to know if Dex is such a decorated soldier with all this experience, then why would he take a job opening doors for Sonny?

Dexter tells Joss it’s time to go and stands up. Before he can walk away, Spencer officially states his help isn’t wanted and punches him.

Spencer isn’t done with him and wants more. When he takes another swing, Dexter ducks, misses, and punches Spencer in the stomach, landing another lick or two as he heads to the ground. Dante rushes over with his badge insisting that he will handle it.

Dante and Sam claim Dexter could press charges for assault if he wishes since Spencer threw the first blow. He declines, and Dante agrees that it is a likely smart decision. Dante then states he’s not exactly sure how many of them are over twenty-one. Joss and Dex quickly bolt out the door, Spencer is still on the ground with Trina looking over him.

Dante advises Spencer to think before he acts next time, being that he is an ex-con. He doesn’t want to add this to his record. Spencer struggles to catch his breath but agrees with Dante.

Spencer insists to Trina that Dexter has no right to chime in on anything about what Esme has done to him and his life because he has no idea. In fact, he says Joss doesn’t, either. Trina quickly reminds him that Joss is her best friend and she was forced to drop charges against Esme because of his baby brother and advises him not to ever forget that. Spencer still doesn’t want help from Joss or Dexter. Trina reminds him he is the selfish jerk he always has been and she is tired of denying it. She grabs her purse and storms out, leaving Spencer standing alone in the bar.

Dante and Sam watch and agree that did not end well for them. Dante sort of feels bad for Spencer after watching all this go down. He knows he has lots of pleading to do with Trina. Sam offers a woman’s point of view and what Trina is likely feeling. They question what they will end up doing after this incident.

Dante pulls Sam into a dance and stops talking about other people’s worries.

Dexter apologizes to Joss, but she finds Spencer to be the one in the wrong. Dex claims she makes him extremely happy and pulls him in for a kiss. The pair end up on the bed making out.

Spencer makes it in, alone. He struggles to take his shirt off without pain, but it hurts. As he gets it off, Esme barges into his room demanding to know what happened to him. She stops when she notices the obvious bruises.

Spencer insists that he is fine and rushes Esme out of his room, shutting the door behind her.

Ava isn’t thrilled to find Austin at her door when she opens it, claiming she does not want to see him right now.

He enters past her and helps himself to a drink, against her continued objections.

Ava is not happy to find Austin at her door
ABC

Ava is appalled to think she owes him any type of thank you for having her daughter kidnapped earlier today.

Austin disagrees and informs her if Mason thought for even a moment that Pilar was inhibiting her ability to spy on Sonny, Pilar would meet a very unpleasant fate, and Avery would likely be kidnapped, for real.

Austin toasts himself about making a good call. Pilar losing her job is much better than losing her life, so he is good with that. He couldn’t live with himself knowing Pilar lost her life when he could have prevented it.

Ava wants to know what the hell he has gotten her into. He claims Ava must be confused. He’s in this mess because of her killing her husband and leaving him in a tack room. That was all an accident she firmly asserts. She only wanted to stop Nicholas from taking her daughter.

Austin agrees she did that, alright. However, she left his body to be found, and now Mason has them both right where he wants them. He claims he had nothing to do with this murder and if she goes down, he would go down too. To top it off, now they have all this leverage over them and there’s nothing they can do about it.

ABC

Ava is tired of hearing about they and wants to know who is the they, that’s behind Austin and Mason.

These aren’t your run-of-the-mill mafia folks or crime bosses. They are relentless, don’t honor codes or loyalty, and they always are going to get what they want. Right now they want information about Pikeman from Sonny, and she is going to get it for them.

Ava acknowledges the demand but is unclear about what exactly she is supposed to get for them. He instructs her to give them what they want. Otherwise, they will keep ramping up the pressure until she does. Worse they’ll just get her out of the way and go after Sonny from another angle.

Ava recognizes his fear as being real, though everything else about him has been a lie. She recaps his history of latching on to the Quartermaines, then Maxie, and now to her. She wonders if she has ever really been anything to her. He wonders the same about her feelings toward him.

He accuses her of thinking so little of him while placing herself on some type of pedestal. She still wants to know what he really thinks of her. He replies that he doesn’t want her to die. When she insists on knowing why, he quickly pulls her into a kiss.

Esme and Ace go to the hospital for a visit with Portia. She discusses Spencer being Ace’s brother, not his parent. Nicholas opted to run away rather than face justice for what he did to her. This makes her his only parent, and Portia agrees that legally, she is correct.

ABC

Portia then explains that the challenges of raising a child alone are extremely complicated and demanding. Marcus was a huge help for her while she was going through it, and by appearances, Spencer seems to be that much-needed help for Esme.

He’s clearly devoted to his baby brother Portia says, but Esme states it’s all complicated and doesn’t believe Spencer is all-in. Portia advises that as the reason she believes they should take a parenting class together. Portia gives Esme some brochures on the classes GH offers.

What if I told you my going to jail is not about protecting you, Drew wants to know from Carly. She says he would be lying. Drew admits she would be right to some point. He reminds her though, that this is the logical choice. He’s not only protecting her. It just makes sense that he do this to eliminate more suffering for many other people.

She wants to know why he’s doing all this for her mistake and he tells her that it’s because he loves her.

After dinner, she brings a selection of cupcakes to top off the meal. Finn tells Liz that he finds her to be remarkable. They notice Violet passed out on the loveseat. Liz offers to help put her to bed, claiming she must be exhausted after hosting all this.

Once Violet is settled in, Finn apologizes to Liz and says they can’t be together simply because it’s what Violet wants to happen.

Liz goes to leave and he gives her the flowers Violet ordered, saying he knows pink is her favorite color.
