Days of our Lives recap for Friday, December 2, 2022.
In today’s Days episode, John and Marlena worry about Kristen manipulating Brady, while EJ and Nicole drown their sorrows.
In the last Days recap, Eric and Nicole got into a massive fight, Paulina summonsed Abe with an idea that she hoped will save Chanel and got herself arrested instead.
Alex finds Sonny playing a video game in the living room of the Kiriakis mansion. He needs to know which shirt he should wear.
Sonny’s annoyed and busy so Alex gets in front of the TV and ruins his game. He repeats the question and Leo appears.
“Neither.” He should go shirtless.
Leo takes out his laptop. He has a proposition and thinks it’ll blow Alex’s mind.
He wants him to hire him as his executive assistant. Alex is shocked he has the gall. Leo says he and Jackson have put their history behind them. Sonny calls it a work in progress.
Alex has an assistant and even if he didn’t, he wouldn’t hire him. Leo begs. It doesn’t help and Leo looks bummed.
Alex leaves and Sonny resumes playing. Leo’s not sure what to do.
Maybe he’ll take that job at Buddy’s Burger Barn but his head isn’t meant to wear a paper hat.
Sonny says a job is a job. Leo thanks him for trying to cheer him up.
Sonny admits he needs an assistant and offers him a job as his assistant at Titan.
Leo’s touched. Sonny hasn’t forgotten what he’s done but he has forgiven it. Leo asks what Will and Victor will think.
Sonny realizes Victor would fire him. Leo thanks him anyway. Instead, Sonny helps him comb through the want ads.
Sonny talks up Leo’s art and they joke around as they find a job suitable.
At the square, Christmas music plays as Marlena and John sit with Rachel. John asks how her Christmas list is going.
She refuses to show him. Marlena’s present is on the way. “A new grandbaby.” John says there’s no greater gift.
Marlena knows things are complicated, but she’s so happy for Eric.
Later, Rachel gives John her list. He reads. “A dream house for Granny Mar Mar doll.”
Marlena says, “You know, you can just call me Grandma.” Rachel says that her mama says she likes Granny Mar Mar.
Marlena purses her lips. “Mommy’s confused.” She also wants a pony. A real one. They laugh. “Duly noted,” John says.
He reads that she wants her parents to get married.
Marlena says Santa doesn’t give those types of gifts but Rachel says that her mother says so.
Marlena doesn’t want her to get disappointed because not all mommies and daddies are married.
Rachel knows but she believes it’ll happen. John tells her that no matter what, her parents love her very much.
He hands her some headphones to watch Frosty and then he bitches about Kristen.
Marlena talks about how she manipulates people and events. Maybe she’ll manipulate him into marrying her.
They need to stop her.
Eric goes to Jada’s room to see how she is. She doesn’t answer.
He just wants her to know he’s there for her. He goes downstairs and a guy sitting at the bar says his bartender isn’t around.
Eric pours him a drink and they agree that they both need a good stiff one. Eric cleans the bar and stares at the booze.
He flashes to his fight with Nicole and pours himself a drink. He stares at it.
Nicole drinks a dirty martini at the bar and cries when EJ walks up. She was going to call him.
She’s so sorry about his mother. He appreciates it and assumes she’s upset over Eric.
EJ says Rafe told him she left him for Eric and that there was trouble in paradise. Does she want to discuss it? She calls it a long story.
He has time. She tells him all about her talk with Jada and the abortion.
She says maybe deep down, it’s what she wanted, for Eric and Jada not to have this bond for the rest of their lives.
EJ says it’s not as though she forced her at gunpoint to get the abortion. In the end, the decision was hers.
Still, Nic says he wishes she didn’t stick her nose in it. EJ scoffs.
He has to know she’s never been one to keep her opinions to herself.
Nic doesn’t think they can come back from this. They crossed a line. EJ gets it.
He too crossed a line and now his mother is dead. He opens up to Nicole about trying to outsmart Ava.
Nicole says Ava is out of her mind but maybe it’s his fault, just like it’s hers that Jada got rid of Eric’s baby.
EJ says it makes sense. They have a history fo being their own worst enemies. Nic says they haven’t managed to learn their lessons.
They drink some more. EJ learns that Holly’s staying with Maggie and she’s sleeping in her office.
She’ll check into the Salem Inn. EJ suggests she come home with him.
Brady walks into his parents’ townhouse and sees Susan holding the Marlena doll. He blinks. “Susan?”
Susan says he looks like he saw a ghost. Isn’t she?
She assumes he thinks she died in the car crash.
Brady says people saw the car explode. Like Elvis, she tricked the world into thinking she’d met her maker.
Brady’s shocked and pulls out his phone. He needs to tell Marlena. Before he can, Susan tells him to stop.
When he doesn’t, she pulls off her wig. It’s Kristen. She just wanted to see if she could pull it off.
She needed to practice before she visited EJ.
Brady’s shocked she’ll visit EJ as his dead mother.
She says since she can’t console him as his sister, maybe she can as his mother.
She takes off the outfit. Brady asks if she’s completely lost her mind. She can’t do this.
It’s cruel. Kristen thought it’d be an act of mercy.
She was going to appear as a vision to ease his mind and assure him that her death wasn’t his fault.
Brady’s surprised. It might be helpful. Surprisingly compassionate of her.

She says he is her brother. She knows she hasn’t behaved honorably but maybe it’s a chance to even the scales.
Brady thinks it’ll scar him and ruin their relationship. Kristen considers how she preyed on Susan’s weakness, she’ll never get a chance to apologize and thank her for all she’s done for her.
She tears up. She’ll miss Susan. Brady rolls his eyes and comforts her. She embraces him as Rachel, John and Marlena arrive. John squints and asks what’s going on.
Brady says they were reminiscing about Susan. Rachel asks Grandpa John to tell her a story.
Brady takes her to bed and once the men are gone, Marlena glares. Kristen assumes she’s about to give a lecture.
Marlena understands that she’s filling Rachel’s head with ideas that she and Brady will marry. She calls it manipulative. Kristen says she won’t be disappointed if they do marry.
Marlena begs her to stop.
In the hall, once Rachel’s brushing her teeth, Brady says he’ll look for monsters under her bed.
John thinks that he’s looking for monsters in the wrong place. He doesn’t like what he walked in on.
Brady says it was nothing. He’s not going to fall for her again. Johnn yells for Marlena to join him in reading to Rachel.
Back in the living room, Kristen holds the Marlena doll and says she wasn’t going to use the Susan disguise to visit EJ.
Her scheme to get Brady to see her in a different light worked like a charm. She grins.
In Paulina’s office, Chad finishes writing a press release.
Stephanie’s glad it’s done in time for her to meet Alex.
Abe calls and tells her about Paulina’s arrest. She’s shocked and tells Chad the news.
They feel bad and start writing a new release.
Chad assumes things are going well between her and Alex.
She says they are and he surprised her with a Thanksgiving dinner.
Chad guesses he’s not that bad after all. He’s happy for Steph.
She helps him with his release and then calls Alex to cancel.
They don’t like the release so she says she’ll do it over. He should go home and put the kids to sleep.
He says he’ll stay and walks behind her. Stephanie’s grateful and hugs him.
Alex catches Eric with the glass of whiskey in his hand at the pub.
Alex says Eric’s looking at that drink the way he looks at women.
Eric claims he’s not an alcoholic but he doesn’t drink anymore.
Alex drinks it for him. He also asks when they can do another cover for Bella.
He goes on and on about how people are thirsty for more. Eric is visibly upset.
Alex tells him that people online are calling them Ericole.
It’s wild. “Shut the hell up!” Eric yells.
Alex his shocked. What the hell is wrong with him? Eric says he’s a photographer.
He’ll quit if he’s forced to. Alex is baffled. Did something happen between them? Did they hook up?
Eric starts barking and Alex says that for a former priest, Eric sure has some rage issues. He leaves the area and gets the call from Stephanie who has to reschedule their date.
Eric pours another drink and stares at it and then drinks it. “I need to get the hell out of here,” he says.
Alex arrives at Paulina’s office with food for Stephanie and catches her in Chad’s arms.
Back at the bar, Nicole and EJ finish drinking and when Nicole almost falls, he tells her she’s more blotto than she thought.
They laugh and he helps her walk to the door.
They run into Eric who glares at them.
