Rafe sits at the SPD office, looking at a photo of him, Nicole, and “Duke the Bear” and flashes to Nicole telling him they’re not going to hang out for a while. Eli appears and says Bonnie’s in a holding cell. He says Justin dodged a bullet. Rafe’s grateful he came into work for that and is sorry he interrupted their dinner. Eli says it’s fine and notices the photo of Nicole on his cell. Rafe shares that he’s not seeing Nicole anymore. Ava is “kind of a jealous person” and he needs to show her he’s all in. Rafe tells Eli that he came home to a darkened room and Ava sitting with her packed suitcases. Eli knows Rafe was exhausted. It wasn’t what he needed. Rafe thought it was dramatic until he saw how hurt she was. Eli asks if he’s being honest with himself about his feelings for Nicole. Rafe says he’s with Ava and that’s that.

Abe confronts Paulina about telling the twins at her place that they can call her Grandma. She reluctantly admits she did. She has a confession to make. She drinks some wine and tells him their evening got them thinking about the future and how they may get married someday. That’s why she referred to herself as being their grandmother. By marriage. “You know me, always jumping the gun.” Abe looks at her with pursed lips. She worries she’s scared him off but she hasn’t. It’s crossed his mind. She smiles. It’s been ten years since Lexie died. They kiss and Paulina thinks he’s worth waiting for. She jokes, “How about a week from Friday.” They laugh and later profess their love for each other.
Chloe and Brady arrive at the Kiriakis mansion and Lani tells them there was a murder there tonight. “Oh my God, Philip,” Chloe says. Lani explains it was Calista Lockhart. Bonnie’s been taken for questioning. Chloe knows that she and Justin were to get married today. “Typical Salem wedding,” Lani says. Chloe goes to talk to Philip but he’s not there. CSI will be wrapping up. She’s sorry to ruin their homecoming. Chloe can’t believe this. Brady thinks she should go home with him tonight. “Why would I go home with you?” She doesn’t think if Bonnie got out she’d go after her for not liking her daughter in high school. Brady thinks emotionally it might be rough. Chloe says, of course, his remedy would keep her away from Philip. He admits she can’t blame him for trying. “Yes, I can.” She doesn’t want to be a rope in this tug of war between him and Philip and wants it to stop, now. She thinks he cooked up the business trip to be alone with him. “You used my job to one-up Philip.” Brady denies it. The meeting was legit. Chloe tells him he may think this is a romantic comedy but this is her life and her career. She tells him to go. He wants to see his grandfather first. She tells him to do it before Philip returns. Later, Brady returns and Victor says he loved seeing Bonnie taken away in cuffs.

Philip confronts Gabi and Jake for installing a keylogger into his laptop. Gabi acts innocent but he knows she put it there. He fires both of them. Jake tries to tell him it is someone else hacking his company, making them scapegoats. Philip learns that Gabi’s got a keylogger on her laptop too and they assume that Brady put them both on each one. Philip’s gone when Gabi realizes that Jake put the keylogger on Gabi’s laptop. He realized that Stefano taught the kids how to play chess so they’d be one step ahead of everyone. He thinks he’s a genius and wants to be CEO when they take Philip down. They drink wine and hug.
Ava joins Nicole at Julie’s Place. She dropped off a resume as a chef. She thought it’d be awkward if she worked at Basic Black. They discuss how she and Rafe turned out to be more than just friends. Nic leaned on Rafe too much but he was being a friend. Ava denies that. Rafe told her himself. Nicole claims she didn’t know. Ava tells her what happened between her and Rafe. “We kissed and made up,” she admits and wants Nicole to share how she feels about Rafe. Nicole lies that she doesn’t feel anything but friendship for Rafe. They talk about them not seeing each other for a while and Nic assures her friend that it’s not a problem. Rafe walks in and Nic leaves them to dinner. Ava goes to the washroom and Rafe stares at Nicole’s photo.

Philip strolls into the Kiriakis mansion and grabs Brady by the lapels, calling him a son-of-a-bitch. He confronts Brady, thinking he put the keylogger on his and Gabi’s computers. Brady denies it and Chloe asks him to go. Philip yells that his lawyers will be in touch. He asks Chloe to quit Basic Black but she doesn’t think Brady did it. She won’t quit until he does. “Well, that’s up to you.” She says, “That’s nice of you to acknowledge it.” She agrees to stay away from Brady if it is, but he has to keep quiet about the man. They shake on it.
At home, Lani gets Eli a beer and they discuss Bonnie’s case. Eli rubs her shoulders as they talk.
Nicole eats a pint of ice cream as Brady strolls by to tell her they closed the deal with the client. He notices she’s eating her feelings. He wants to get in on that.
