Wednesday, April 21, 2020: On today’s full episode recap of Days of our Lives, Theo asks Ciara about that kiss, Ben admits to Claire that he tried to drug Ciara, and Paulina needs Lani’s help.
At Lani’s, Paulina wants Lani to convince her daughter to get out of “that shame of a marriage to Xander — today.” She wants her to talk sense into Chanel and she’ll stay with the babies.
At Salem Inn, Xander tells Chanel he’s not unloading her that fast. She’ll annul their marriage on the grounds that “Little Xandy was a no show.” He doesn’t want that. He’s interested in how loaded her mother is. Chanel says if he gets rich from her mother, she won’t want a divorce. “What’s your point?” She smiles. Are they having their first fight? He wants to scheme to get a payout from Paulina and then they’ll split it 50/50. Lani arrives and Xander pretends he and Chanel are having marital bliss. He takes off to leave them time alone and Lani says she’s there to get her out of the marriage. She can get what she wants without a man or her mother. Whatever she sets her mind to do, she’ll do well. Chanel says Xander wants a payout or he won’t give her a divorce. Lani says that’s the Xander we know. Chanel’s not sure what to do. Lani offers to ask Paulina for the cash on her behalf. “Exactly how much does Xander want?” Later, Lani leaves and Xander returns, shocked to hear that Chanel asked for ten million dollars.

Abigail finds Kayla at the hospital and asks if Gwen is pregnant and if she intends on having the baby. Kayla can’t tell her. It’s confidential. She encourages her to fight for Chad and reminds her they’ve found their way back to each other many times. They embrace and Abigail cries. She’s consumed with wanting to hurt her. She needs to get control. Kayla tells her to let go of what she can’t control and says to go home and tell Chadhow much she loves him and how badly she’s hurting. Be brutally honest with Chad.
In Ciara’s room, Theo brings her flowers and asks why she kissed him the other day. “I felt close to you and kissed you.” Theo reminds her she’s married. “He’s still your husband.” She said, “Yes but I don’t want him to be my husband, Theo.” The actual thought of it makes her sick. She likes being with Theo. He doesn’t judge her or tiptoe around her. When he returned to Salem after he’d been shot she was angry that they were robbed of a chance to be together. She now feels that they got that chance back. Theo calls her special but what happens if she remembers Ben and decides to go back to him? She can tell he’s afraid of getting hurt. She gets it and doesn’t want to get hurt, either. She asks if it sounds sane to her that Ben tried to drug her. “No.” He says. She tells Theo he’s the kindest, sweetest man who always makes her feel safe. He sings her praises and they agree this is complicated. She isn’t saying they should jump into a relationship. “We should just be us and see where things go.”

At the mansion, Gwen tells Chad she’s pregnant with his kid and keeping her baby. He digests that and asks, “Why? Why are you doing this, Gwen?” She knows it’d be best for all if she didn’t. She explains she’s done with all that revenge against Abigail. He can tell she’s sincere but then why is she having the baby? Gwen admits she didn’t want to see the image of the baby during the ultrasound because she thought she’d be reminded of the regret she feels and the pain she’s caused and then she decided to look. The image of the baby was real. It wasn’t an ‘it’ anymore. She thought of the years she’s felt unwanted and discarded by her father. She didn’t want to do that to her child. She doesn’t want Chad to feel responsible for the kid or to be a part of their life. Chad says regardless, it won’t be possible. He respects her decision and accepts the responsibility for parenting. He’ll do his best to ensure he or she is welcomed in his and his family’s life. Abigail interrupts. She knows Gwen’s pregnant and keeping the baby. She could tell by the look on her aunt’s face. Abigail becomes emotional and starts making accusations. Chad starts to defend Gwen.

At Claire’s place, she tells Ben that her mother isn’t a murderer. Ben assumes there’s been a mistake. Trask is out for blood. Ben can relate and turns the conversation around to him. “Because Ciara’s out for mine.” He tells her about trying to jab her with the memory drug. He knew it was the wrong thing to do but thought she’d want him to do whatever it took to bring them back together. Theo caught him. Claire is shocked that he’d take things that far. He wants to go talk to Ciara but she stops him. The more they push her, the more upset she gets. They need to back off. Claire will talk to Theo to see if he’ll give her space. Ben goes and Theo arrives. They talk about her mom’s arrest and that she’s innocent. Claire wants to talk about Ciara.
Ben goes to see Ciara at the hospital. He apologizes for trying to drug her. He’ll give her space from now on. She tells him she’ll never be with him because she’s leaving Salem.
