On today’s full episode recap of Days of our Lives, Angelo helps Steve and John, Abigail goes off on Gwen, and Roman goes after Tripp.
Kayla finds Marlena in her office at the hospital. She says Steve and John landed in Philadelphia. Kayla feels bad that Steve dragged John on a wild goose chase. Marlena knows that Tripp has never wavered on his innocence. Neither has Allie. Hopefully, their husbands will get to the truth. Kayla talks about the guilt she feels over Tripp, and how she’s overwhelmed that Joey left town so fast after being out of prison. And Ava’s return. She thinks she needs to make an appointment with Marlena. Marlena laughs. She calls what she’s going through natural. Kayla admits she finds it strange that Ava’s gone missing. It’s not like her, after being reunited with her son. “It is like Ava vanished from the face of the earth.”
In Philidelphia, John and Steve find Angelo Vitali (Angelo Tiffe) at an outdoor cafe. John asks if he raped his granddaughter. Angelo’s shocked. He shows Steve his gun and tells him to call off his attack dog. “What is this Jamoke’s problem?” Steve fills him in on Allie’s rape. Angelo didn’t do it. He talks about how their family is huge and that Ava has another son named Charlie. That’s all he’ll say. He gets agitated and takes off. John thinks he knows where Charlie is.
Roman catches Tripp posting flyers about his mother who has gone missing. Tripp explains the flyers and Roman cites private property. He wants Tripp to remove the posters. Tripp’s mother doesn’t deserve to be found and he thinks it’d be best if Ava took off with her son. Roman keeps up his tirade over Tripp raping Allie but Tripp maintains his innocence and says his dad and John are investigating it.
At Julie’s Place, Allie is triggered when Charlie says Arrivederci to her. Claire asks what’s going on and she takes off, while Charlie looks worried. Once Allie’s gone the two canoodle and discuss going ice skating or going to a movie. They decide instead to head to Allie’s since he lies that his place is messy.
At the DiMera mansion, Chad says, “If I’d known it was a lie I…” Abigail asks him to finish. What would he have done or not done? Chad stammers. He wouldn’t have gotten drunk and passed out at Salem Inn. Abigail asks where Gwen was and she says she was with Chad. Gwen says she spent the night with Chad “but the man was a drunken, blubbering mess.” She claims she slept in a chair. Abby still doesn’t get why she lied about seeing her kiss Jake and booking a room at the Inn. Gwen explains she saw Jake kissing Kate and she claims he threatened her. Abigail rolls her eyes and asks her to fast forward. Gwen lies that she covered for Jake. Abs thinks Gwen wants Chad for herself. She asks about the folder she has on her family. Gwen was researching her employer and calls it perfectly legal. Gwen’s surprised she didn’t take advantage of him when he was passed out drunk in the hotel. She starts to cry and asks Chad, “Unless that was a lie.” Chad says he wasn’t taken advantage of, but he calls Gwen out on manipulating them. Abigail kicks her out and fires her. Once she’s gone, Chad yells at Gwen for lying to her and taking advantage. Gwen refuses to leave her job or the house. She blackmails Chad into ensuring she can stay.
Allie interrupts Kayla and Marlena’s chat at the hospital. Kay leaves the two alone and Allie apologizes for being late. She explains how Charlie turning up at Julie’s Place triggered her. Something about Charlie reminds her of Tripp. Marlena guesses she could see a resemblance. Allie is upset that she feels that she’s taken one step back but Marlena believes she’s come a long way since the rape. Allie hopes Tripp never puts another girl through this. Once Allie is gone, Marlena considers what Allie said about Charlie.
Kayla encounters Roman yelling at Tripp. She calms Roman down and asks Tripp to go, and they discuss Steve and John’s trip.
Claire takes Charlie home and says they have the place to themselves.
