April’s comings and goings for Days of our Lives
Gloria Loring returns to Days as Liz Chandler
Deidre Hall was on The Locher Room recently and broke the news that Gloria Loring, who portrayed Liz Chandler over the years, is returning to Days of our Lives.
Again, we assume that she is returning for a farewell for Doug Williams since Bill Hayes passed away.
If you recall, Liz was a clothing designer, a singer and owned Blondie’s. She was paired with Joseph Gallison’s Dr. Neil Curtis.
Loring herself is well-known as a singer and composer. She composed for the theme from Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life. Her song, Friends and Lovers, was a big hit and co-sung with Carl Anderson.
Loring is also the spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and an author.
Take some time to watch the interview with Alan Locher and Deidre Hall.
Stephen Schnetzer’s big return to Salem
In a surprising turn, Stephen Schnetzer returns to Days of Our Lives as Steven Olson after leaving Salem in 1979. Soap Digest was the first to report.
For those reading who weren’t around in the 1970s, or who were but simply don’t recall this character, Schnetzer was Julie Williams’s brother, the eldest child of Addie Horton and Ben Olson.
He’s also Hope Brady’s half-brother.
Could he be back for a story involving Doug (Bill Hayes) passing away?
In an interesting twist, back on December 22, 2023, Matthew Farris suggested that the character pay a visit to Julie. Someone was reading his Twitter feed! If any of the soaps were smart, they’d snap Matthew Farris up as a writer.
Day 10: What gift should Santa bring your favorite character?
For Julie, a visit from brother Steven Olson, formerly played by Stephen Schnetzer. Steven was a petty criminal who skipped town in 1979. There could be a whole branch of the Horton family tree out there!#Days #DOOL https://t.co/iOlch6gnps pic.twitter.com/OlElJ5aNrx

Tate Donovan Black recast with Leo Howard
After less than a year, Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) has been recast with a new actor.
Leo Howard takes on the role after Martin Mann left to return to college. We’ll first see Howard starting Friday, April 5.
Incidentally, Howard is engaged to Natasha Hall, a temporary recast of Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) for a few episodes in March.
Leo Howard did a stint on the first season of Why Women Kill as Tommy, he was Sven in Santa Clarita Diet and Ethan in Legacies.
Days’ March comings and goings
Jennifer K. Lee’s appearance
Jennifer K. Lee made a short appearance as Dr. Lexie Carver on Days of our Lives on March 11 in a scene with James Reynolds (Abe Carver) and Paulina (Jackee Harris).
What happened to Jessica Serfaty’s Sloan?
Jessica Serfaty’s temporarily out as Sloan Peterson.
So that the story will keep moving, Days has decided to recast Sloan with Natasha Hall, until Serfaty’s return.
Viewers will see Hall in three episodes starting the week of March 4.
Hall has portrayed several roles on television including The Kominsky Method, The Rookie, Seal Team, S.W.A.T and Mom.
Days’ February comings and goings
Sal Stowers (Lani Price) and Lamon Archey (Eli Grant) make a big return to Days of our Lives on Thursday, February 29.
Lani and Eli return to Salem to visit Paulina (Jackee Harry).
Last we saw Archey, who also portrays D’Angelo Carter on All American, was at Christmas when he returned briefly to visit Doug (Bill Hayes) and Julie (Susan Seaforth-Hayes) and the rest of the Horton family.
July 2023 we last saw Stowers, who has been busy outside of her infrequent returns to Days.
She’s been enrolled in school to get certification as a life coach.
Jamie Martin Mann is back
Jamie Martin Mann (Tate Black) returns to Days after a brief absence.
He appears on Wednesday, February 28.
Mann will be in scenes with Eric Martsolf (Brady Black) and Emily O’Brien (Theresa Donovan).
Sydney K. Smith and Zach Chyz
Sydney K. Smith and Zach Chyz have joined Days of our Lives in the roles of young Tom and Alice Horton.
In the wake of the big fire that burned up the Horton house, a staple of the show, the duo will share “flashback” scenes.
Viewers will watch Tom carry Alice over the threshold for the first time after they wed and purchased their new home.
Frances Reid and Macdonald Carey originated the roles in 1965 and later became the patriarch and matriarch of the show. Reid’s last appearance was in 2008 before her death in February 2010.
Here’s a clip of the first episode of Days of our Lives starring Reid and Carey.
Days’ January comings and goings
Christy St. John
Folks will be seeing Officer Goldman on Days of our Lives when Christy St. John steps into the role of Salem Police Department’s new rookie cop February 6.
The actress was quite excited to be on Peacock, telling her Instagram followers, One of my episodes of Days of Our Lives is now live on @peacock, with more to follow! I’m filled with gratitude for being a small part of television history—this is the show of JOEY TRIBBIANI, after all. Before working on a soap, I never fully appreciated the effort it takes to make one. Many thanks to @boblambert5 & @bostongrl23 for casting me and to everyone at @dayspeacock for warmly welcoming me into this cast of highly talented (not to mention GORGEOUS 👀) actors who effortlessly handle 100+ pages of dialogue a day with ease. Exciting times ahead for Officer Goldman!
If St. John looks familiar, it’s because she portrays Officer Andrea Bishop in NCIS: Los Angeles, and was the girl next door on The Christmas Chronicles. She’s been in Blindspotting, Quirky Kinks, and Work-Life Balance.
Ellie Patrikios
Ellie Patrikios will be appearing on Days of our Lives as Catherina the week of February 5.
With a background in theatre and musical theatre, Patrikios is branching out into soaps.
As Catherina, she will be involved, of course with the Konstantin, Steve and John storyline. Catherina will play a pivotal role in this “Pawn” story.
Patrikios has been seen in Silent Life, Not So Happily Ever After, Sex and the Future, Never Ever, and Cam Cam Grrl.
Cary Christopher makes a return
Cary Christopher returns to Days of our Lives as Thomas DiMera.
Fans can look for the little guy on Friday, January 12.
