Wed, Dec 6: Today on Bold and the Beautiful, Bridget and Thorne return for the party as everyone else prepares and remind themselves they have to look happy.
Tuesday’s Early B&B recap: Thorne was told to rush home while Donna moved a declining Eric into the guest house.
Thorne joins Ridge in the office at Forrester Creations.
He says it looks like not much has changed and asks his brother what the rush for the party tonight is about.
Rick and their sisters are on safari and won’t make it back.
Ridge explains that their dad is dying.
He’s sorry he has to tell him like this but Eric hasn’t wanted anyone to know.
Thorne isn’t sure he can fake not knowing like everyone else.
Ridge holds him as he gets upset. Steffy joins them, guessing Thorne knows the truth.
Thorne starts to weep. He’s not ready to let his dad go.
In the design office, Hope, Brooke, and Katie say they look great.
But they aren’t getting dressed up to be festive. It feels sad.
Brooke reminds them they need to act festive for Eric.
After Katie takes off, Bridget arrives and hands out hugs.
She asks if this party is about the launch of a new line.
“I wish,” says Brooke.
She breaks the news.
Bridget turns away to weep for a minute before asking if he’s seen a doctor.
Her mom explains the doctors have all said the same thing.
She wishes she could take her pain away.
Bridget was so excited to come back. She really missed her daddy.
Now they have to put up a front like they don’t know he’s horribly sick?
Brooke says that Eric just wants them to have a joyous occasion.
Bridget keeps crying, realizing her dad doesn’t have much time.
Her mom holds her.

B&B December comings and goings
In Eric’s guest house, Donna spins around in her gown. When she tells him it’s time for him to get ready, he starts to cough.
She wonders if he really has the strength to go ahead with this party tonight.
After she pulls up his suspenders and puts on his jacket, she adjusts his crispy hair and tells him he’s the most elegant and handsome man she’s ever laid her eyes on.
He says this will be a wonderful last family gathering.
Eric and Donna go to the main house.
When Katie arrives, he’s using his oxygen mask.
She begs him to let them take him to the hospital but he insists this will be a party no one will forget.
They’ve got a bottle of wine left over from his wedding from Stephanie.
Zende joins Thomas, Luna and RJ in the Forrester show room. He explains that he knows the truth about Eric. It’s hit him hard.
He apologizes to RJ for being so hard on him now that he knows he was just helping their granddad.
Carter joins them and they talk about how well Eric has been covering.
Clearly, he doesn’t believe he has long to live.
Bridget, Brooke, Hope, Thorne, Steffy and Ridge join them.
Thorne thanks them for all they’ve done.
Carter tells them what an inspiration they’ve been.
Ridge knows today will take a toll on all of them.
So anyone who can’t handle hiding their grief, likely shouldn’t go to the party.
Tonight has to be a celebration.
When Thorne and Bridget admit they might not be able to stop themselves, Ridge tells them to let the tears fall now.
Bridget doesn’t think any of this make believe is okay.
Ridge and Brooke remind her of how important this is to Eric. They have to do this, no matter how hard it is.
He tells everyone to get their game faces on and the mill out.
Back at Eric’s, the champagne is out and he has Katie stash his oxygen.
He reminds them that only Luna and RJ know.
The guests and he’s thrilled to see Thorne and Bridget.
After hugs, he tells them his kids are the best thing he’s done in his life.
He’s grateful they made the effort to come.
As the other guests file in, Eric welcomes and hugs each of his talented grandsons and admires their clothes.
Carter arrives and Eric tells him never to forget that he’s family too.
Champagne is handed out and Donna says Eric doesn’t want to waste any time.
He toasts to his guests, telling them that they will have a night of love, laughter, music, and positive energy.
They all toast. As he takes a drink, his hand starts to shake.
Everyone stares as Donna promptly takes the glass from his hands.
