Thursday, Dec 21: Today on Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy worries they made the wrong choice, Zende tells Luna he wishes there was more he could do, and Bridget and Finn decide to take Eric off the ventilator.
Wednesday’s Early B&B recap:
Steffy told Eric it’s okay to go toward the light, and frustrated Zende was comforted by Luna.
Bridget and Finn are in Eric’s hospital room. It’s hard for him to see him lying there like this. She thanks him for letting her help with his treatment.
Eric’s temperature has been up and they are worried pneumonia could set in. They need to get him off the ventilator soon.
The doctors know that the longer he’s not breathing on his own, the greater the risk he won’t recover. She fears that if they don’t do this today, it will be too late.
Finn says they need to remove him from the ventilator now. They go over their concerns about the risks.
She wishes her father would just wake up. Finn says she might be able to hear his voice again if they move forward today.
Bridget is sure he wouldn’t want to live incapacitated and offers to reach out to the family.
At Eric’s, Steffy worries to her father and Brooke that they have made a mistake. Maybe Eric was ready to go and they shouldn’t have stopped him from going peacefully…
Ridge says it’s out of their hands now. It kills his daughter to think Eric is suffering.
They worry about what kind of like Eric might have until Brooke pulls out Stephanie’s Bible to read what she marked.
It’s Psalm 107:6.
Bridget calls to say they want to take Eric off the ventilator. It’s early but theoretically he can handle it.
Ridge and the others rush off.

At the Forrester office, Luna looks at a photo of Eric and sighs, thinking of how wonderful he is. Zende shows up to say there’s been no improvement.
The longer this goes on, the more he worries about his grandfather.
He visited him and held his hand but he wishes there was more he could do.
He wanted to finish his collection but Ridge already asked RJ and he doesn’t want to get between them.
She can feel his frustration.
He says all he learned about fashion, he learned from Eric.
She thinks he inherited his swag.
He thanks her for that and wishes he could help with the collection.
Zende doesn’t want to make things more stressful by fighting with Ridge when they should all be concentrating on Eric.
He gets a call about the plan to take Eric off the ventilator.
They hope this is a positive move and are sure the doctors wouldn’t be taking this risk if it wasn’t the best move.
Luna knows how hard this must be for him, especially over the holidays.
He says her presence and genuineness is enough.
She’s getting embarrassed.
Smiling, he can see why RJ is crazy about her.
They talk bout how positive her experience at the company has been.
He says she’s more than just an intern. She’s an amazing addition.
She goes on about how amazing Eric has been and he adds that Eric thinks very highly of her and RJ is lucky to have her.
Back at the hospital, Finn tells Eric he can do this.
He needs him to breathe on his own.
Ridge, Brooke and Steffy arrive in the corridor and continue contemplating if they’ve done the right thing.
Ridge says they need to take this one step at a time and Brooke says they need to believe in Eric’s resiliency.
Finn and Bridget join them and announce that removing the ventilator is the only move they’ve got.
They file into Eric’s room. His vitals are down.
Donna is down in the chapel praying.
Brooke tells him they are all there for him and love him.
Bridget tears up.
Steffy tells her grandfather that she prays he’s not upset with him because they can’t say goodbye.
She bursts into tears.
Sitting with his father, Ridge tells his father that maybe he was wrong and it’s not his time to go.
Maybe there is a miracle that could give him the life he wants…
The doctors need him to breathe on his own and they want that too.
Taking his father’s hand, he tells him that he has people pulling for him all over the world.
But if he wants this, he needs to show them a sign.
Eric suddenly presses his son’s hand and his eyes start to open.
