Wednesday’s Early B&B recap: As Thomas wondered if his sister was right, and Steffy accused Hope of using Thomas like a toy.
In the design office, Thomas tells his father that he has been blindsided. He thought he would have a wonderful future family and work life with Hope.
Ridge urges him not to let this make him spiral.
His family will get him through this.
Will he take his sister’s advice and end things with Hope?
At Forrester Creations, Steffy tells Hope she will never be serious about Thomas and needs to let him go.
She suggests it’s just physical and Hope just loves being worshipped.
She’s exactly like her mom and she won’t let her undermine her brother’s integrity.
“You stay away from Thomas!” Steffy decrees, storming out.
Hope sits and mulls until her mom shows up.
She tells Brooke that Steffy showed up and made things worse, acting like she’s her brother’s savior.
Brooke offers her help.
Hope knows Thomas is upset and needs to get through to him on her own.
Ridge enters and announces his son went home devastated.
He doesn’t think she should have been surprised by another proposal.
She was wearing the ring around her neck.
Hope says that was a compromise.
She’s grown to loving the idea of them being exclusive but she thought he understood she needed more time.
Ridge thinks she could have been more explicit before about not wanting to marry him and Brooke says she’s told Thomas that repeatedly.
“I never said never,” admits Hope.
Brooke thinks Thomas should have listened harder and Ridge says he was listening.
That’s why he proposed again.
It kills Hope that Thomas is upset right now.
They argue about whether this will be a set back for Thomas.
Hope insists it won’t be because he’s grown strong.
This would be easier if Steffy would butt out. She told her to stay away from her brother.
Brooke says she has no right to do that and Hope points out how Steffy brought up Brooke’s past while she was trashing her.
Ridge doesn’t want a war to break out and Hope tells him to stop his daughter from pouring gas on the fire.
Brooke repeats her daughter did the right thing.
Hope thinks if Steffy cared about her brother, she would stay out of this and see she did the right thing by not accepting the proposal when she’s not ready.
Hope insists that she has not been leading Thomas on and Brooke says he has not been respecting her timeline.
Ridge thinks his son has done nothing but respect and listen to her. Is he just getting mixed signals? Are they from different planets? What?
Hope says that have something beautiful no one else can understand and it would help if people weren’t constantly interfering.
It now seems like it’s Steffy’s mission in life to get her out of Thomas.’
She adds that she thinks she’s gone “full Logan” and that sticks in Brooke’s craw.
Hope thinks this is running a lot deeper than the proposal.
She’s always had issues with Steffy and she’s sure her old enemy just looks for opportunities to tear her down.
Steffy is trying to drive a wedge between her and Thomas and she will not allow it.
