Kimberlin Brown has portrayed villainess Sheila Carter for over 25 years, a role created by the late William J. Bell. She started out wreaking havoc on Young and Restless in Genoa City in May of 1990 and crossed over to Bold and Beautiful in 1992.
She flitted between the two soaps off and on and her latest stint began in August of 2021 when Sheila came to LA as Dr. John (Finn) Finnegan’s biological mother.
Sheila has one of the largest naughty lists from her time living in Genoa City but became a tamed version over the last few years of the once iconic villainess while on Bold and the Beautiful this time around.
Sure, she shot Steffy and Finn and cut off a toe to fake her own death but her claim to fame seemed to be telling anyone who would listen that she was a changed woman.
Still, it’s a shock that her time has come to a definitive end. TV Insider interviewed Brown after reporting that she is finished as Sheila. Readers might have caught SoapsSpoilers’ early B&B recap where Steffy picked up a butcher knife and ended Sheila at the beach house.

Brown stated in the interview, “Well, you know, it’s a tough place for me to be in right now; I’m not going to lie about this,” Brown begins. “I guess if anyone were going to take Sheila down, I’m happy it’s Steffy. I just wish that no one was taking Sheila down. It’s my happy place where I have been so blessed to be for over 35 years. But I’ve had a good run at it, so I’m one of the lucky ones, there’s no doubt about it.”
Jacqueline MacInnes Wood spoke out about this major exit, calling it bittersweet. “I absolutely love working with Kimberlin; she is just the consummate professional. She elevates every scene and she’s so creative. For Steffy, hallelujah! This is her moment. How long has it taken Steffy to take her down and it’s finally happening, so it’s going to be a big shock. For someone who used to watch the show, and to [now] go toe-to-toe against Sheila, that’s a really cool moment.”
