In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Michael, Danny, Traci and Lauren get reacquainted, Diane and Jack share a tender moment, and Sally tells Chloe she doesn’t know who the daddy is.
In the previous episode, Sally thinks she’s pregnant, Diane came up with a plan, and Nick and Adam get into an argument over Sally.

Tracy sees Danny at the Phoenix lobby’s New Year’s Eve party. They’re excited to see each other and Lauren walks up.
“Hey! Are you two getting the band back together without me?”
They all laugh and catch up. They say Tessa’s around. They could all sing together.
Michael finds them together, happy about the reunion.
Michael and Danny embrace.
Danny offers to get them concert tickets next month in Chicago.
They’ll do dinner before. They love it.
He talks about Daniel’s game and working with him.
Michael asks if he’s going to see Cricket if she gets back from her trip. He hopes so if she’s back before he goes. Later, they toast to the new year and Sing auld Lang Syne together.
At the apartment, Connor and Chelsea make an egg drop device and he says he saw the one in the closet. She says she and Billy were testing it but he’ll be sending in his own project.
Connor thinks Billy’s cool. “He can be.” Connor talks about all the omelettes they can eat with the broken eggs.
Adam arrives and Connor’s glad to see him. They tell him about the egg drop project. He likes it. When he learns Billy was helping, he looks off a little.
They want Connor to do his best on the project. He goes to watch a video while Adam asks if Billy’s coming by later to do Connor’s math homework. She laughs.
Lily finds Billy at Chancellor park. She’s in time to celebrate New Year’s Eve. “Here?” She asks. He doesn’t want to dress up and make a big deal about it.
She stares, uncomprehending. They tell each other that they’re worried about their relationship.
She’s pissed that he didn’t put anything together for tonight when he was supposed to plan something.
They’ve hours to wait for fireworks. She doesn’t like that he’s spent every day with Chelsea over the holidays but she understands it. He asks if she’s sure.
Lily says their issues started before Chelsea’s crisis. He’s been going in another direction for months and she’s unsure of how to get on track.
He reminds her they’re in therapy next week. She reminds him he hasn’t even changed his behavior since they talked therapy.
If he won’t meet her halfway, what’s the point? She becomes emotional and says backing him into a corner wasn’t right.
She cries and calls them different people with different goals. She’s not sure they have enough in common to keep them together. He tears up.
He doesn’t see their differences as a negative and doesn’t want to give up on them. Lily says this isn’t easy for her but she’s being pragmatic. She wants time apart.
She’s not saying it’s the end but they need to see what’s left between them.
Nick brings a heating pad, soup, and other things to cure Sally’s illness, to her suite at Grand Phoenix.
She knows this isn’t the New Year’s Eve he had in mind. He brought ginger ale instead of champagne and brings out champagne glasses.
She smiles but says she doesn’t like showing her sick side to people.

He takes the hint and says he’ll go but will return if she changes her mind. He kisses her cheek. “Happy New Year.”
He goes and Chloe shows up. Sally admits she can’t stop thinking about her comment, earlier. She checked her period tracker and pregnancy isn’t out of the question. She’s been taking the pill but did forget a few times. She can’t believe she’s admitting that. Chloe asks if it was on purpose. Sally says no, she’s not trapping.
That’s not her style anymore. Chloe is relieved. They both know from experience that that plan doesn’t work.
Chloe says it’s not the end of the world. Nick makes beautiful kids. Sally says Nick wasn’t the only one.
She slept with Adam, too. She reveals she and Adam had a “moment” a few weeks ago “for closure.” Chloe says, “Goodbye sex? Are you kidding me?”
She says it was spontaneous but they agreed to go their separate ways. Chloe rails on her for letting the man suck her in. Sally begs her to get a pregnancy test.
Sally paces her hotel room after Chloe’s left.
At Society, Jack listens in as Jeremy tells Diane she needs to pay him back what she took from him.
It’s the only way they’ll settle. She says the money is gone.
She’d rather lay their cards on the table.
He’s in and asks her if she turned state’s evidence to put him away. She denies it.
He thought about her a lot on the inside. She recalls their time together made her feel alive. He asks what she’s suggesting. She wants that excitement with him back.
Jack looks stunned. Diane says she can’t stop thinking about Jeremy and thinks they have an unbreakable bond.
She claims the quiet life is boring.
He calls himself risky and she smiles. She tells him she wants the risk and reward again. He’ll consider it and get back to her.
He goes and Jack appears. She asks how long he’s been there. He reveals he’s been there the whole time.
Adam finds Billy at Crimson Lights and comments that he’s fixated on Adam’s ex-wife.
He wants Billy to leave her alone. He goes and Chelsea and Connor appear, wishing him a happy new year.
Connor wants to hand in Billy’s egg drop project as his own. He says he’s being logical. Chelsea scoffs.
She invites him for hot chocolate upstairs so Connor goes to order it.
Chelsea can tell Billy’s got something on his mind but says nothing.
Billy leaves Chelsea’s place with Connor asleep on the sofa later on and wish each other a Happy New Year.
Inside, Nick and Sharon greet each other. It’s his birthday and her one-year anniversary to Rey.
She says it’s hard but she doesn’t want to dwell. He tells her his plans with Sally fell through since she’s sick. He didn’t tell her it’s his birthday.
They talk about the lack of drama now without Adam in the mix.
Sharon likes seeing her ex smile. She hopes 2023 brings lots of smiles like that. Sharon and Nick toast to the new year.
Back at the Abbott house, Diane tells Jack that he helped her to change.
He thinks he was hard on her. She thinks he was kind but not coddling.
She likes who she is when she’s with Jack.
She tears up and admits that hasn’t been the case.
He feels the same. He likes himself with her.
They smile at each other and start making out.
Lily cries on a park bench when Daniel texts Happy New Year.
Adam drinks alone at Society.

At Glam Club, Daniel didn’t know things got this bad.
Summer says, “I’ve just been going along with everything Kyle wants for the sake of our marriage.”
Sally asks Adam why he’s being so nice to her. He thinks she already knows.
Cricket finds Danny at Crimson Lights. She’s thankful he waited for her.
He says it was worth it to have some time with her.
