Monday, July 7, 2023, Y&R day ahead episode recap: Phyllis tells Michael she’s ready for a comeback, Tucker and Ashley wish they had Phylli’s help in getting rid of Diane, while Summer snaps at Billy and then Daniel as she spirals.
Friday’s Y&R day ahead recap: Sally couldn’t stop thinking of Adam’s letter and told Nick she needs space, Jack was irate hearing Ashley’s news and Audra offered Kyle a job.

Michael stands around Chancellor Park, looking at his watch. Phyllis turns up in disguise. “Hi, stranger.”
Michael can’t believe the gall of her to meet him in public. Christine and the cops love spending time in this part.
She should stay hidden until she’s ready to come forth.
She removes her black sunglasses and says all this hiding has made her know where she belongs.
She heard Kyle and Summer broke up.
She blames Diane’s resurrection and it’s time for her to make her comeback.
Michael wants every single disgusting detail from the moment she married Stark until now.
He needs a timeline. Anything to strengthen his case.
He asks why she didn’t come to him when this started. She calls it complicated and didn’t feel she had anyone to turn to.
Michael insists she can always turn to him. She laughs as she tells her BFF she needs to change into a better Phyllis.
She needs his help and says, “I love you.”
He says, “Right back at you, beautiful.” He tells her he’s meeting her children and she wants to go.
He tells her to stop it. It’s sheer luck she’s kept out of custody. She points at the sky and thinks someone up there likes her.
She calls him a good friend. “The best,” he says, and can tell she’s nervous about coming home, not just about the charges.
She has to go on an apology tour. “Ugh,” she says. He says she should be grateful to those who forgive her.
She promises she’ll do that to those she loves. She pats her wig down as he tells her his patience is waning.
She needs a few more minutes to relax and says she’ll call him when she’s ready to get rid of her disguise. He asks her not to wait too long.
At the Abbott house, Tucker tries to take a photo of Ashley but she refuses to smile since she’s busy at work.
He convinces her to smile and she beings to laugh as he takes photos of her.
They start making out as Diane walks in.
“Oh for the love of God. Get a room,” she says. Tucker gets amorous and Diane is fed up.
She tells Ashley she doesn’t buy that Ashley doesn’t hate Tucker still.
Ashley says, “You’re right. I hate you,” to Tucker and makes out with him, leaving Diane exasperated.
Later, Tucker tries to take more photos but Ashley shoves him. She wishes Diane would get lost. Tucker says she has the perfect life now and is here for keeps unless something changes.
He thinks Ashley’s too polished and refined to get the dirt on Diane. Ashley thinks Phyllis could do it.
Tucker tries to come up with ideas to get rid of Diane since he knows that if Phyllis returns, she’ll be so busy defending herself that she may not have time to get rid of Diane.
He considers a new plan.
They can sit naked in the hot tub and play music Diane hates the most.
Ashley chuckles. Instead, she professes they try to poach workers from Jabot. He dashes off, saying he’s late for something.
Daniel runs into Jack at GCAC and they discuss Phyllis staying away and how much worse she’s making it on herself.
Jack hopes he’s looking after his sister. Daniel’s doing his best.
Jack thinks Daniel’s a good man and he admits he’s had first-rate role models.
Daniel stares at Lily and loses his train of thought. Jack notices Lily smiling and waving and the lovey-dovey expression on Daniel’s face. Lily comes over and tells the men they need to order champagne.
Omegasphere has caught fire in South America.
The men are congratulatory but Daniel can’t seem to wrap his brain around how fast it happened. Jack leaves them to celebrate.
Lily’s glad he and Jack are still close. They take a seat and he shows her a birthday gift he got her. The game with her as Queen Lilianna.

Comings and goings: Vail Bloom returns
Summer finds Billy ending a call with the press at Jabot. She suggests he change his number and wants to bounce ideas off of him.
Billy’s got a lot going on with Ashley’s departure from the company and can’t.
Summer pushes it. She needs a new Creative Director for Marchetti. Billy’s not sure Chelsea’s ready for that and asks if there’s someone in Italy.
She doesn’t believe so. He shrugs and she accuses him of not wanting to help her because she’s no longer family anymore and he’s siding with Kyle.
That’s not what Billy’s trying to do. He thinks her confidence is screwed up right now but those back in Italy are reveling in her saving their jobs. She wonders what good it is if she can’t save her marriage.
Billy thinks she can save Marchetti. He knows she screwed up but she’ll fix it. He says to trust him.
He’s screwed up and turned things around.
Jack appears and talks to Summer about hiring Diane but Summer wants to handle it on her own.
She takes off and Billy thinks things are about to explode. Jack tells his brother to try spending time at the house.
Each time he sees Ashley, he sees red. He doesn’t get how she can walk away from their company. “What has she become?” He says.
Billy is tired of having to talk to the press and board. She didn’t even leave a sticky note to tell them her plans. He worries she’ll take her patents and run but Jack believes they’re safe. Legal’s looking into it.
They don’t know anything about this company and since she’s quiet, he knows she’s furious.
Billy calls Tucker the poster boy for being unhinged. Things could get ugly and they need a secret weapon.
Maybe they can push the teenage fragrance line and use bigger celebrities. Basically, whatever Ash does, they do better.
Summer busts in on Daniel and Lily’s tender moment to rail at him for not answering her texts. He’s been busy.
She asks if he saw Michael’s texts. Lily kisses Daniel and says she’ll leave them alone.
Summer apologizes and once she’s gone, they ponder what the text is about. It’s likely their mom wants to return to Genoa City. Daniel can see she’s spinning out.
She says her company is in trouble and she wishes she could talk to Kyle about it.
Things feel wrong when they’re apart. She knows she did something bad and she’s sorry but now they’re like strangers and he hates her.
She doubts he’ll give her another chance. Daniel shrugs. She let their mother put her in this position. He has boundaries.
Summer explains that their mom would have done the same for them. Summer accuses him of never being there for her.
She risked it all for Mom and is close to losing everything she’s wanted in life. She’s paying the price for her death. “You wonder why I’m spinning out?”
Michael appears and tells the kids that their mom is ready for her comeback.
He tells them she feels bad. Not about Stark since that was self defends but about Summer’s marriage implosion.
She wants to find Carson, the EMT.
It’s a lot to ask for in finding him but Summer will do what she can to assist her mother.
In a small alcove nearby, Tucker sips a drink and eavesdrops.
Diane finds Phyllis alone in the park and yells at her for everything she’s done.
She snipes about how she screwed her kids over and Jack and Phylis says she’ll make amends to them all and thinks Jack will open his eyes to Diane.
She sure wasn’t able to.
Diane thinks if she disappeared right now, people would think she pulled a Phyllis and ran away like the coward she is.
Phyllis shudders. It was just a fantasy.
She writes a letter to those she loves and apologizes for what she’s done.
She says she’s made mistakes but is turning it around and making changes.
She knows she’s defeated and knows she won’t get her life back. She needs to face that Diane won.
She thinks for a few moments and says, “What? Diane won? Oh hell no. I’m out of hiding. Ready or not, here I come, guys. And this time, I’m going to finish what I started.” She walks off, looking confident.
Diane goes to Jabot to talk to Jack and Billy about Ashley and Tucker’s new company.
They should ensure everyone at the company signs non-competes “so they don’t join Ashley’s ship of fools.”
Billy thinks this will hurt them but also make them stronger.
He goes and Jack ponders why the heck their happiness is a threat to everyone they know.
She shrugs it off and says she’s survived prison pizza. She’s so positive that Jack begs her to marry him. Now!
She smiles and says it doesn’t matter where or when they marry. She just wants to be his wife.
They kiss and he says he wants to run away with her. She reminds him they’ve work. He charms her and they smooch.
