Monday, August 21, Y&R day ahead recap: Nick and Adam get nowhere in confronting their dad, Sally learns Chloe’s got a new job offer and Victoria forgives Nate.
Friday’s Y&R day ahead: Lily Notices a Moment Between Daniel and Heather, and It’s Decided That Chelsea and Connor Will Leave Genoa City

Nikki arrives home after a meeting with a kiss for Victor.
He tells her about his visit with their new COO.
Nate explained his actions and tried to prevent Newman from suffering and embarrassment.
She says he lied to Victoria but Victor thinks it was also to protect her.
He blames Adam. He needs to keep his son in place but doesn’t expect him not to make more trouble.
Nikki knows Sharon and Nicholas will push back.
Nikki sniffs like she’s smelled some rotting fish when Victor says he enlisted Nate.
At Adam’s condo, Nick snaps at his brother for blackmailing Audra. He says it’s over and he’s got issues with his son. Nick’s sorry to hear that but insists it’s not over.
Adam asks if Nick knows what Dad did to Sally.
That he pulled the football away from her in a move like Lucy on Charlie Brown.
Nick never wanted her to take any of his job offers.
They know she’ll get something else but Adam calls it cold and calculated.
Like a chess move, the brothers agree. Adam thinks it’s about them and the talk of the merger.
He had to take back control and wonders why Nick’s not pissed off that he used Sally.
Victoria’s happy to see Kyle at Newman. They’re all happy that he accepted this job.
She’s just checking in and then asks how things are going “with Audra, your boss.”
Kyle’s smile falters. They talk about work and Victoria grins, thinking he’s acting like this is an interview.
He gets all PR on her, telling her this place is somewhere new, free from his family drama.
Victoria says they’ll get autonomy over at Newman Media.
She grills him about Audra which makes Kyle say this feels like a test.
Her questions are about Audra. Not him.
Victoria says she’s still new to the role. He seems protective of her.
They discuss the blackmail and Victoria says that Audra was the target. Kyle asks surprised.
When she tells him about the statutory rape, Kyle’s facial expression makes it obvious he didn’t know about that part. Victoria wrongly assumes he knew nothing and he lets her.
He thinks Victoria’s questions are making sense. Kyle wonders how Adam has a job still and Victoria says investments were made. Her dad’s not thrilled.
She asks what he thinks about merging with SNA.
He thinks it’s a disaster with Adam at the helm. She agrees.
They’re happy to know each has an ally in the other.
At GCAC lounge, Audra tells Nate that it’s over.
Victor shut down Adam’s threat and things worked out.
“For you, for now,” Nate explains.
He has to defend his actions to Nikki and Victor now.
Audra reminds him he’s hooking up with Victoria, and which means he’s under their eye.
Besides, she thinks he acted savvy, something Victoria should understand.
Audra thinks she’s just dumping her baggage on him.
“Thank you for the insight,” he says through gritted teeth. It’s a matter of trust.
He asks if she’s ever trusted anyone or been trusted.
She doesn’t make a habit out of it. Nate tells her to look elsewhere for any more favours.
In Chancellor Park, Chloe tells Esther that Bella wants a puppy.
She doesn’t since she’ll have to take care of it.
Esther senses there is another issue and she complains about walking away from Sally after she accepted a job offer from Victor.
They agree it’s too good to be true.
Esther doesn’t get why her daughter would walk away. “Because it’s Victor,” Chloe says, succinctly.
Her mom tries to get her to see things Sally’s way.
Sally just happens to walk up and tells them that Sally never was planning a design section at Newman Media.
Chloe nods, unsurprised. It sucks for her. They’re back at square one. Esther gives platitudes.
“Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” Neither woman wants to hear a platitude.
Chloe goes to take a call from Chelsea and Sally blames herself. Esther blames Victor.
Sally feels bad for Chloe but Esther says her friendship means more to Chloe.
Chloe returns and tells them that Chelsea offered her a liaison job at Marchetti helping her while she works remotely.
She feels bad for Sally who shrugs it off.
Adam and Nick arrive at the ranch to confront Victor about what he did to Sally.
They ask why he did it. Victor talks about how he tried so hard to get them to work together and their focus is on protecting Sally Spectra.
They disagree. She doesn’t need protection. He asks then why are they there?
“You went too far,” he says. “She just lost her baby.”
Victor points his finger. He doesn’t want to hear it. The focus is on the launch.
Kyle goes to Audra at GCAC lounge and tells her about Victoria fishing for information on her.
He explains the talk and that Victoria outed Audra with the underage cover-up.
Audra asks if it changes how he sees her. She should have told him.
He says it doesn’t and it worked in their favour. Victoria noted his surprise.
They head up to her room for sex.
Nate gifts Victoria a cliched red rose in her office and apologizes for creating tension between them.
She sniffs the rose and smiles. He asks if they can get past this.
She closes the door and he vows it’ll never happen again but she’s heard it all before.
He doesn’t trust her completely which means she isn’t sure she can trust him.
He calls it about the games, the brinkmanship. He thinks going away for the weekend will help.
“Guess it’s worth a try,” she says with a hug.
Back at the ranch, Nikki and Victor discuss the boys who have left.
He calls Nick siding with Adam a positive.
He pushes them to get the best out of them.

At Crimson Lights, Adam and Nick tell Sharon about their visit with their father.
Adam thinks he’s making moves with their company if he hasn’t already.
What if he takes over SNA Media entirely?
Sharon reminds him half the company is hers. Adam knows that he doesn’t care.
They have to act to get him off their back. Sharon agrees. Nick hates it. He blames Adam and Adam takes it.
She assumes Vic wants them to fail so he can come in and save the day.
Nick doesn’t think they should handle things like this.
He goes for a walk and Adam opens up about Connor.
He worries that he and Chelsea’s issues are now their son’s.
Back at Newman, Victoria and Nate have locked themselves in and start making out when Victor calls.
They stop kissing and Victor asks if Nate’s looked over the Kirsten-McCall business plan he requested.
Nate has. He has thoughts. They agree to meet.
He disconnects and Victoria can see her father has a plan. He wants to replace Adam with Nate.
It’s smart but she’s not sure she likes it.
Nate assumes she forgives him and she kisses him to show it’s true.
Back at the ranch, Victor calls Nate insurance. Nikki says Adam will see this.
Victor doens’t give a damn. Adam’s reckless. Nikki knows and thinks it’ll be worse.
This is setting more chaos in motion. “My baby,” he says. “You gotta trust I know what I’m doing.”
Nick goes to Sally at Society and tells her he went to confront his dad.
She sighs. She didn’t want him to.
Nick says Adam and Sharon think they need to break from Newman.
