Phyllis brings a plant to Daniel who isn’t home.
Danny answers the door and lets her in. He’s working from home he says and she asks if she can whisk him away for lunch. She talks to him about his new music. He’s excited to get back into the recording studio.
She was happy to help with “that bridge thing.”
She says he told her she inspired him. “It’s like I’m your muse. Unless Christine’s your muse,” she says, flirting.
Daniel decides to take her up on lunch.
Chance finds Christine at Society. He’s out of the sling and doing well.
She’s glad to hear. He lets her know he’s officially leaving the force. Christine’s shocked.
He’s given it a lot of thought, he says.
She should wish him well but she worries he’s walking away from something important to him.
As they talk, Summer stalks from the door, unseen.
She shows herself and learns Christne’s having a hard time seeing Chance as a businessman.
Summer thinks he’ll be amazing, that business is somehow in his DNA.
Christine leaves them alone and on the way out, runs into Danny and Phyllis who are laughing heartily together.
It’s uncomfortable.
They explain Phyllis wanted to lunch with Daniel but he wasn’t home.
Phyllis tells her that she inspired one of his songs.
She begged him to go out with her and he was gracious to say yes.
“That’s Danny,” Christine says and asks to take Danny aside.
They head outside where Christine asks if Danny’s with Phyllis now.
“Cricket,” Danny says.
She realizes she sounds like a jealous teenager.
Back inside, Phyllis finds her daughter with Chance and asks if they’re having lunch.
They explain they ran into each other.
Back outside, Danny tells Cricket that hanging with Phyllis is just old friends reconnecting but what they had was a special dinner he wants to do again.
He kisses her and they embrace with Summer and Phyllis watching.
Chloe finds Nick at Crimson Lights, getting tea. She notices he’s distant and thinks she knows why.
“Sally,” she says. He doesn’t want to do this.
Their relationship is strictly professional and he’s good with that. She’s not. Adam’s pulling her back into “his evil vortex,” she complains.
It’s not his problem but Chloe wants him to try to get her back.
Nick says Adam blew their relationship up like usual. He’s a disaster. Chloe can’t argue with that.
Nick says everyone stays clear of him because of it but Sally runs toward it.
That’s all he needs to know.
Chloe talks about how his brother messes with Sally’s mind. How can Nick give up if he loves her? Nick says Salaly wants Adam but Chloe seems to think Sally needs Nick.
She can’t stand watching “that snake” turn her friend into “roadkill again.”
Nick says it’ll work out. He tries to get away from her but she stops him, calling him sweet, dreamy, strong and sane.
Sally’s great and they could be great together. She begs him to fight for her.
Adam and Sally sit together at the Athletic Club.
He calls this awkward and doesn’t want to mess it up.
She’s not sure how to do a non-date. He says he’ll have a salad and she’ll have a steak.
Rare, and an iced tea.
They’re served and he pulls out hot sauce, remembering she used to douse her burger and fries with it. “Is this safe to bring our past into our lunch?” Sally asks.
Talk turns to work which excites her. He’s glad she’s working with Chloe, though she despises him. They talk about his dad. Adam says it’s all good at least for now.
Sally’s surprised. How did he become teacher’s pet?
He says he was honest. She thinks it was a novel approach that could have backfired for him. He calls it worth the risk. His feelings shifted when he thought his dad was ill.
He’s not ready to “let the old man go.” If they’re destined to battle, he needs him to be in peak form.
At the no-tell motel, Aunt Jordan looks at Eve’s photo and tells her it won’t be long now. She’s after the Nemans and they won’t see it coming.
She gets a notification on her phone and says it’s about time.
They put out an APB on her. “Not a very flattering photo,” she notes.
She calls the tip line she reads about in the news and disguises her voice as she tells them she’s seen the woman in the paper and is afraid she’s going to do something to hurt the Newmans.
She claims she saw the woman at the South Side Motel, 4836 North Laurel Drive room 158.
She’s happy to bring this evil woman to justice. She disconnects and thinks it won’t be long now. She packs up and leaves behind the photo album, the vials and the knife for the cops to find.
At Society, Victor and Michael discuss Claire’s case.
He tells the lawyer that Victoria and Nikki are fragile, especially after what they’ve gone through.
Jordan’s a danger and he has plans to protect them.
He’s concerned for his wife and isn’t sure what consequence it’ll have that Jordan pushed her off the wagon.
He says Claire helped almost kill them and is surprised when Michael defends her.
Victor realizes he’s taken on her case. “You crazy or what? She’s putting you on, she’s pulling your leg. She’s nuts.” Michael reminds the older gent that she also saved their lives.
Claire deserves help. Victor worries she’ll come back to haunt them if she’s out but Michael thinks she’ll have a life. Vicor wants her behind bars. “Even if she’s your granddaughter?”
Michael asks. Victor thinks he’s being dense. Michael takes off anyway.
At the ranch, Nikki puts the lid on the vodka bottle and hides her flask under her arm.
Victoria says, “I can’t believe this is happening.” She tells her mom Michael is taking Claire’s case. She recaps the reason. Nikki has her reservations about Claire.
She’s not happy Victoria’s posting bail.
She asks Victoria to get her water and while her daughter’s back is turned, Nikki puts the flask in her purse. Victoria returns with water and says Claire can get treatment immediately.
She’s scared and confused. Nikki says this could be a part of a bigger scheme.
Victoria says they’re getting a DNA test now, based on what Cole found at the Lakehouse. She tears up, thinking she may not have lost her baby.
Victor arrives and tells them that the cops had a tip, that she’s in the motel on the outskirts of Genoa City. He’s checking into it. He wants her safety.
