Tuesday, July 11, 2023, Y&R day ahead episode recap: Summer makes Daniel swear not to screw things up, Billy and Chloe encourage Chelsea to take the job offer at Marchetti, and Adam agrees to consider Sharon’s merger offer.
Monday’s Y&R day ahead recap: Adam fired everyone at McCall, Jack’s siblings refused to throw Ashley out at Jabot, and Kyle told Summer about Audra’s offer.

In Sally’s suite, Nick admits that part of him cares about his brother but he doesn’t trust him. He’s let the family down too many times.
She knows people always want to help him become the person he’s supposed to be. He respects his father never giving up hope.
Given how Victoria is behaving, he thinks he needs to consider the offer. Sally agrees with Victor and thinks he should take the job offer.
Spectra was skeptical at first but now thinks this could be good. She read Adam’s letter and it touched her. She offers it to Nick but he doesn’t need to read it.
Sally explains it was a cry for help. She can’t bring herself to meet with him but she’s got a different perspective on what he’s going through.
He’s glad she can finally see that he suffered a loss. Sally says Adam needs someone and that could be him.
Nick assumes his brother was being manipulative but she just thinks he was raw. She feels bad for brushing him off.
He thinks his brother brings the worst on himself. Spectra doesn’t want Adam to sink into his dark place. She’s not ready to reach out to him but he needs someone.
Nick agrees to step in momentarily so she won’t have to. She tells him he doesn’t need to do it for her and encourages him to consider how much his brother needs him.
He doubts his brother is needy. She reminds him he needs a place to land and repeats that he shouldn’t do this for her sake.
At Crimson Lights, Adam is startled when Sharon tells him they should merge McCall with Kirsten Inc. He wonders why she thinks their partnering up is a good idea.
She wants a new focus in her life. At first, she thought of just selling it but now thinks the “madman” leaving her the company was a sign. Sharon wants to make something good out of the bad.
This could be a new sense of purpose and passion. There must be something she could do to give something back to the world and make a positive difference.
Any business can be run successfully with the right team. Adam doesn’t think she needs him for this but she thinks teaming up could be lucrative for everyone.
This doesn’t fit his vision for the company and he suggests she speak to Nick. She insists this is a good business idea and they could balance each other out.
He knows her better than that and is sure she is trying to save him and manage him. Them working together would make him combative and destroy their friendship. He’s not sure he wants to do that with one of his only functional relationships.
She doesn’t think their being business partners could threaten their friendship and he repeats that he doesn’t want to be saved. Adam doesn’t say no and concedes there could be value in Kirsten’s company so he will consider it.
That’s all she was asking for. He leaves and she smiles to herself.

Comings and goings: Vail Bloom returns
Devon is packing up his Neil memorabilia at the penthouse. He leaves a few photos for Lily as well as a few of their dad’s old records.
Abby comes down the stairs and he tells her there are so many good memories there. It’s also where they figured out they love each other. Now it’s Lily’s chance to make memories there.
Abby tells him how special he is. She admires him doing this move for Dominic. She’s happy they will be able to come back and visit Lily in the place where they share so many memories.
They join hands and walk out.
At the jazz club, Lily tells Daniel about the personal touches she plans to make to the penthouse. He offers to help with the re-decorating. As they kiss, Summer mopes in.
She sits with her brother at the bar and they discuss how infuriating their mom is. She still wants their mom to come home but part of her is angry at her.
They worry about their mom being unleashed and trying to solve her problems. Summer doesn’t think they can do any healing until this nightmare is over.
He wonders if that healing with include Kyle. She says he’s not talking to her and now he’s working for that shark Audra at Newman Media. She’s afraid that Kyle is making rash decisions.
Daniel is sure that he will get over this in time. Summer thinks he might get more receptive in the future but for the moment they are in a holding pattern.
They discuss the problems they’ve faced in their marriages. She’s still struggling and worried about Harrison having his life turned upside-down.
She makes him promise not to let any of this screw-up what he’s got with Lily.
He swears he will do all it takes to hold onto the people he loves.
Abby and Devon meet Lily at Society. They left her champagne in the fridge of the penthouse.
She thanks them and looks forward to moving on from where she lives with Billy. They wonder how much time Daniel will be spending in the penthouse.
They hand her the keys and she looks forward to all the memories they will make at the mansion.
After she hurries out, Abby says she put him on the spot about Daniel.
He thinks he just gave her a little nudge.
Outside, Lily sends Daniel a text, asking to meet at her new place.
Adam wanders into Society and sees Devon and Abby toasting. They tell him why and he commends Chance on being civil enough to move out.
They encourage him to talk to Lily if he’s looking for somewhere to live and they chat about business. Devon thinks he’s being pretty ambitious with McCall if he’s going after Newman Media.
Adam is sure they would be happy to see Newman taken down. It would be karmic justice for Nate and Audra after what they did to Chancellor Winters.
Devon and Abby are eager to get to their new home. On the way out, he tells Adam that they are not looking for a war with their family.
After they exit, Adam gets a call and tells someone Newman Media won’t know what hit them.
Lily is surprised when she gets to the penthouse and Daniel is already there with the champagne. He tells her she’s getting the new beginning she deserves.
She loves his optimism. He opens the champagne while she puts on one of Neil’s records.
They dance and kiss and drink before heading upstairs.
In Chancellor Park, Chloe tells Chelsea how great her new job at Marchetti will be and thinks of all the deals they can make. Billy joins them and urges Chelsea to take the job for Chloe’s sake as well as her own.
They ponder and her friends encourage her. Chelsea decides she needs to pass it by Connor first. He’s shut down again since he lost his baby sister.
Connor shows up after soccer practice. After Billy takes off to find ice cream, Connor tells his mom he doesn’t want to talk about the baby.
She tells him about the job offer at Marchetti and how it means they will have less time together. She asks if he’s okay with that.
Connor says she sounds excited so she should go for it. They can have pizza later.
He takes off and Billy returns. She says her son seems okay with the job so she will contact Summer. He’s glad to see her happy and kisses her.
Summer arrives after getting a text from Chelsea, who informs her she’s very interested in her job offer.
Summer is thrilled that something is finally going right.
Nick meets with Sharon at Crimson Lights. He tells her he’s considering his father’s offer to work with Adam. She fills him in on her merger idea.
She thinks they could be a powerhouse of positivity.
“It should be win win win…unless you two kill each other,” she says.
