At Crimson Lights, Lauren hands Nikki some chamomile tea.
The Newman asks how Seth seemed to her since she’s worried that he looks like he was drinking.
“It’s all my fault,” she says. Lauren tells her she’s not responsible.
It’s not her job to stop him from drinking.
Nikki says every day is a battle. Lauren adds it’s one day or minute at a time.
Nikki would hate herself if she drove him off the wagon.
Smiling Jack strolls in and interrupts.
Nikki immediately excuses herself and Lauren offers to drive her home, saying she wants to talk to Victor.
Nikki claims he must be in bed and runs off with Lauren urging her to drive safely.
Once she’s gone, Jack asks if Nikki is okay.
He’d like to help if he can.
Since her husband is out of town, Lauren needs someone to talk to and she knows Jack can understand this since he’s been down this road.
He guesses Nikki is drinking again and they decide to go to his house to discuss it.
Victoria is sipping tea at the Newman ranch and flashing back to when she and Cole saw Claire after her confrontation with Jordan.
Claire thanked them for making the meeting possible and they promised to be there for her.
Victor comes in and gives his daughter a hug, saying she looks exhausted.
Her jet just landed and went through some weather.
She thanks him for arranging the trip.
He asks if it was productive and she explains that Claire did what she set out.
Claire isn’t the only one with a lot to sort through now.
Victoria is scared and tired and doesn’t know how to stop her daughter from feeling hurt.
Her father says a parent never stops worrying.
She fills him in on Claire going back to Memorial and not telling her anything about the meeting with Jordan.
Victoria just hopes she opens up when she’s ready.
Her father sighs in worry and she assures him she can handle all this. When she looks at Claire, there is familiarity but also so much she doesn’t know. She needs her daughter to know she is worthy and lovable.
Victor knows how she feels given what happened with Adam.
He’s always tried to reconnect with him but there have been many blow-ups.
Claire is a victim and she won’t recover overnight.
He urges her to be realistic and pay attention to whether seeing Jordan could have re-awakened Claire’s loyalty to her.
His daughter tells him they don’t need to worry about that.
They talk about the treatment she’s receiving. Victoria is feeling lost.
Her father asks how it feels to have Cole back, he seems reliable.
She says he’s calm and reassuring. Her father points out they’ve put their lives on hold and that will have some ripple effects.
She guesses he’s missing her at work and they discuss how things are going.
He says that work is good for dealing with stress.
Victoria is determined to be part of every moment of her daughter’s journey.
Nikki bursts in, surprised to see Victoria there.
“Baby, you seem agitated?” he asks. His wife takes off her jacket and explains she ran into Seth and is worried he’s drinking again.
She’s afraid she drove him to it. They assure her she’s not that powerful.
Nikki knows their situations are different, but that doesn’t stop her from being his trigger.
Her daughter suggests she just needs some rest but Nikki is really worried about her sponsor. He didn’t respond when she tried calling him.
Nikki and her husband sit at the chess table and play.
He fills her in on the latest at work before they discuss Victoria’s situation with Claire.
She’s glad to hear that things went the way that Claire and Victoria wanted.
Victor trusts their daughter’s instincts and is sure she will work it out.
Nikki is relieved when she gets a text from Seth, asking if she’s okay.
Victor tells her not to answer “that character.” If he broke his sobriety, he shouldn’t be her sponsor.

Jack and Lauren arrive at the Abbott estate and she confirms Nikki is drinking again.
He could be sorrier about that.
She tells him none of this was Nikki’s fault. It was all because of some sordid woman.
Now Nikki thinks her sponsor is drinking and it’s her fault.
Jack explains it’s called “stinking thinking” and she can’t see she’s not responsible.
Lauren’s at a loss about what to do. Victor knows and is involved as much as he can be but Nikki is mortified.
Lauren thinks that Nikki needs real support by someone who was an addict.
If Seth is drinking, he’s the last person she should be dealing with.
The Abbott guesses she’s asking him to step in.
There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for Nikki but he doesn’t think she wants him involved.
He doesn’t know how he can offer to help without revealing that Lauren has exposed her. He’ll try.
When Christine walks into the jazz lounge, she spots Danny and Phyllis kissing passionately.
She walks out before Danny backs his ex off.
He says that he can’t follow her down this road.
Phyllis tells him they need to explore the heat between them but he insists he’s not interested.
She thinks his kiss says otherwise.
Danny claims this is all one-sided and he doesn’t want things to go further. They have bad history and she hasn’t changed.
She is adamant that she has changed.
As much as he wants to believe that, she keeps pulling stunts that make him doubt that.
When he tells her she was way out of line posting that video of him online, she laughs and points out he’s a celebrity and people post videos of him all the time.
She’s sure this about Christine.
Danny tells her that they can be “some version of friends” for the sake of their son, but anything else would be wrong.
He storms out and she drinks.
In the GCAC Christine re-watches the video that Phyllis posted and then texts Nina, asking if they can meet and talk.
Danny comes in, spots her, forces a smile and strides over.
When he tries to kiss her, she ducks it.
He guesses she saw the video.
“Even better, I saw the two of you live and in person downstairs,” she says.
Breathing deep, he explains that Phyllis tries to set him up.
The lawyer crosses her arms.
He says his ex slipped into her old patterns and is trying to needle her.
He was foolish to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Judging by the kiss, it didn’t look to Christine like he was set-up at all.
Danny admits that he’s been naïve and didn’t want to hurt Phyllis. “Because she’s so delicate and fragile,” snipes Christine.
None of this is explaining the kiss to her and she has no interest in competing for his attention.
That’s not a road she wants to go down.
Nina texts back and arranges to meet Christine. Danny asks if they can go someplace and talk.
“You need to figure out what the hell you want and you need to do that without me,” she says.
When she stands to go, he stops her and declares that he wants her.
She thinks he’s having too much fun being in the middle.
Danny tells Cricket that this is no fun but she tells him it’s fine if he chooses Phyllis, no matter how crazy that is.
The kiss that she saw tells him he’s not sure.
She storms out. Phyllis is standing by the revolving door, staring at him.
She strides over and asks “What’s bugging the bug.”
He tells her she went too far and they are done. She reminds him they share a family but he tells her they have no relationship after tonight.
She just maybe blew up any possible future he could have with Christine.
Phyllis doesn’t think he would be so angry if he wasn’t feeling conflicted.
“Enough! Just leave me alone!” he cries, running out.
Nina joins Christine at Society, noticing she’s a ball of tension.
They order wine and Christine is grateful she’s around and up late.
She might have to start screaming. Nina guesses this must be about Danny.
The lawyer explains they spent the holidays together and those were good, but…
Judging by the look in her eye, Nina guesses Phyllis is in the mix again.
Christine will be damned if she’ll get in the middle of all this.
She recaps everything that happened with the video and then she caught them “attached at the lip.”
Nina reminds her they are talking about Phyllis and she could have staged all this.
They know how conniving she is.
Christine has considered that, but adds, “You didn’t see the way he kissed her back.”
Nina says that adds a wrinkle.
Her friend refuses to get hurt again and is determined to end things.
