This is the Canadian Y&R day ahead recap from the Thursday, May 13, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Friday, May 14. In the previous episode, Adam’s standalone episode had Adam playing the big chess game that is life. In this episode, Kyle and Summer receive gifts, Adam is ready to move on from the women in his life, and Lola is ready to leave Genoa City.
Victor finds Adam at home looking at Chelsea’s wheelchair. He offers to get rid of it but Adam will take care of it. Victor asks him to promise him something in regard to the two women in his life. Adam wants Chelsea to get well and feels responsible for her breakdown. He wishes she didn’t find out about that kiss but thinks they need to go their separate ways. He also thinks Sharon should reconcile with Rey. Adam plans on focusing on Cyaxares. There’s no room for women in his life, especially Sharon. They agree he has a bright future ahead. Adam’s grateful to his dad. He intends to turn Cyaxares into a bigger powerhouse and use it to crush ChancComm and Billy Abbott. Victor clinks glasses with his son over that since it’s “music to his ears.”
Sharon and Mariah arrive at Sharon’s. Mariah feels like she’s been on a rollercoaster. What he did for Faith was amazing but she wonders if he’ll use it to his advantage. Sharon refuses to go there today. Thanks to his bravery, Faith can start her life over again. She urges her mother to reconcile with Rey and thinks Adam will try to win her back. Sharon doesn’t think Adam is a threat to Rey or her marriage. Adam made that clear the morning of the surgery. She needs to convince Rey of that. Mariah suggests she lure Rey on a romantic getaway. She’ll stay with Faith. Sharon says that “Might be an option.,” But she needs to get Faith.
Nick runs into Rey at Crimson Lights. Rey’s trying to avoid Sharon and asks if they can talk elsewhere. Nick thinks Rey should let go of his anger for Adam and try to work things out with his wife. Rey crosses his arms over his chest and looks down at Nick. He’s open to listening. Nick doesn’t think what Chelsea said about Adam and Sharon having an affair is necessarily true. Unless Chelsea convinced herself it happened. They swear up and down that they didn’t do it. Nick thinks Sharon loves Rey. If she loses Rey, it’ll put her in a vulnerable place. Rey insists he doesn’t want any of this. Later, Nick’s gone and Rey tells Lola that Faith’s prognosis looks good. Lola’s happy. Now he and Sharon can work on their marriage. Rey thinks Sharon’s hands will be full while Faith recovers. Lola tells her brother that she’s moving to Miami, Florida creating menus for celebrity chefs. Lola asks him to promise to trust love and believe in what his heart is saying. He has no promises for her but hears her. He doesn’t want her to worry about him.
Phyllis picks Jack up at Jabot for their kids’ engagement party. He has ideas to tell her on the way. She jokes that he can tell her but they’ll use her ideas. They head out and Sally watches from the shadows. Later, she jumps on a videochat with her aunt, Sally Spectra (Patrika Darbo) and complains about Jack and Phyllis and what they’re up to. Sally tells her niece to let it go but Sally can’t and won’t. “What could the two of them be up to?”

At the club in their suite, Summer and Kyle look at what’s being done to their new home. He can’t wait to carry his bride through the threshold. “This time it’s for keeps,” he says, though Summer has doubts. She wants to get married now. Kyle has a plan on how to pass the time until fall. He kisses her passionately.
At Society, Abby is excited about Faith. She can’t wait to have a party for her. They talk about Abby’s baby and how happy her and Chance will be. Phyllis hopes Chance shows up sooner than later. Abby goes to check on the hors d’oeuvres while Jack and Phyllis discuss how he walked in on Sally singing his praises to Tara Locke. But his eyes have been opened. He saw the mean side of Sally and he has no place for that in his life. Phyllis is certain that Sally set it up for him to walk in on the conversation. Jack says it doesn’t matter. Phyllis talks about needing to protect him since he’s protected her from herself for so long.
Mariah stops by the hospital with Sharon, then leaves right away for a meeting. Faiths ready to leave the hospital. NIck appears. “Look at my girl getting better every day.” He sees the cards and asks if he needs to “get Dad concerned” about Moses. Sharon laughs and thinks he already is but Sharon calls Moses “a nice young man.” Nick leaves and says hi to his mother before talking to Moses about playing games with Faith.
Kyle kisses Summer outside the elevator at the club. Kyle goes to a meeting and Phyllis tells Summer she feels nervous. She asks her kid to tell her honestly if this is what she wants. She worries Tara Locke will get in the way. Summer’s not worried. Phyllis gives her a gift Jack once gave to her. A necklace. Summer’s touched. Jack’s family. Sally walks in and watches with a sneer on her face, then walks out.
Back at Jabot, Kyle tells Jack that Mariah’s his best person. Jack congratulates him and Mariah. He’s happy. Kyle asks his father to officiate. Mariah goes and Jack gives him John Abbott’s pocket watch. It’s inscribed, “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.” Kyle’s moved. Sally interrupts and Jack goes. Sally fishes and learns tonight’s Kyle’s engagement party. He asks her to keep away from Society and takes off for a meeting. Sally grins.
At home, Faith lays on the sofa and Nick and Sharon rally around her asking what she needs. She needs nothing. Nikki pokes her head in. Meanwhile, Rey calls Sharon to see if she’ll meet to talk. Nikki offers to stay with Faith and meet Victor at the engagement party later. Sharon toddles off.
Abby, Phyllis, Jack and Mariah gather at Society. Abby goes off to talk all things baby. Nick turns up looking for the happy couple.
At the club, Kyle helps Summer put on her new necklace. They discuss what their parents gave them and talk about all the support they have. They smooch.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon doesn’t want to drag this out. Rey tells her there’s something important he needs to tell her.
Jack tells Summer and Kyle that Ashley’s running late, as are a few. They toast to the Newman/Abbott union and suddenly, Tara Locke and Harrison stroll in. Kyle seems freaked out.
