In the Wednesday, August 31, 2022, full episode recap of CBS’ Bold and the Beautiful, Bill and Liam vent about the possible custody battle, Brooke and Taylor try to explain things to Ridge, and Steffy throws her support behind her brother.
We also have Tuesday’s B&B recap where Brooke lost it and accused Taylor of being ringleader of a plot before they attacked each other with paint.
At Eric’s, exasperated Brooke and Taylor are covered in paint. Brooke blames her for this. Taylor finds this hilarious.
Brooke decides she’s missed a spot and squirts her with more paint. Taylor returns fire.
As the paint is flying, Ridge arrives. “Really?” he asks, shaking his head.
Brooke blames all of this on Taylor’s habit of using her arms when she speaks. As they ramble through an explanation, Ridge asks how they would explain this to a little boy.
The women apologize. This shouldn’t have happened. The fight wasn’t really about Douglas. It was about him… as always.
They explain how they were arguing about Douglas and Taylor says Brooke accused her of using their grandson to go after him.
Taylor knows it’s hard for Brooke to understand things that aren’t about her but that’s what this is. Ridge keeps shaking his head.
At Forrester Creations, Hope accuses Steffy of living in the past. She doesn’t want Douglas to become a victim of the endless feud between their families.
As they argue about Hope being Douglas’ son too, Thomas walks in. He guesses what they are arguing about. Hope and his sister reiterate their positions anyway.
Thomas appreciates his sister’s support but wants to speak to Hope alone. As she goes, Steffy tells Hope this doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
Once they’re alone, Hope admits she’s starting to worry about his intentions. He just thinks Douglas needs to be with his father.
She reminds him that she is Douglas’ mother and that was his idea in the first place. There is no reason for him to disrupt his life.
Thomas agrees that she is an incredible mother. She insists that she would never interfere in their relationship so long as he is in a healthy place.
He asks her to give him a chance and see how happy the child is at Eric’s.

B&B opinion: Does Thomas deserve custody?
In the cabin, Bill tells Liam that Thomas raising Douglas on his own should not be a thought in anyone’s head ever.
“You can’t take that little boy from the only home he’s know and throw him into crazy town!” he says.
Given how unstable Thomas has been, Liam agrees with this and so does Hope. He thinks that this would devastate her. It would rip her heart out.
Bill agrees that the kid belongs in the home he knows. Some small part of him understands Thomas wanting to be his kid.
He knows how much he missed out on, but he didn’t know Liam and Wyatt existed.
Liam suggests that Thomas is just out to get attention from Hope the way he has in the past. Bill wonders if he’s ready for a full-blown custody battle.
Sitting down, Liam says no one wants a court battle. He’s sure they will make every effort to resolve it among themselves.
Bill doesn’t see a lot of wiggle room. Liam points out no one has brought up court. His dad suggests Hope could use Thomas’ soft spot for her.
Besides, all the wacky things he’s done in the past would be useful in court.
