SoapsSpoilers’ General Hospital recap for the Thursday, January 27, 2022 episode. Today, Esme drugs Trina, Victor tells Peter where Louise is, and Austin demands the truth from Maxie. We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where manic Sonny hurt Nina and Valentin became suspicious of Chase’s paternity.
In the yoga studio, Carly tells Nina that she should be glad if she treats her like she doesn’t exist. Nina says it won’t be that easy. She needs to hear her out. Carly doesn’t want to listen. She’s already heard that Nina is prepared to take Sonny if he comes to her and she doesn’t need to know more. Dismissing that as irrelevant, Nina reminds Carly that she is Sonny’s wife and what’s best for him. Carly declares that whatever is next for she and Sonny, it won’t involve Nina.
Sasha interrupts and starts talking about how busy things are at work. She insists she’s fine but Nina wonders if she is taking time to grieve. Carly asks for a moment alone with Sasha. The model tells her she has accepted Liam’s passing and is just trying to live her life.
Denial can disguise itself as acceptance, Carly warns. If she doesn’t take the time to deal with her grief, it can destroy her. Sasha is adamant that reliving her loss will not help her.
Before Carly can leave the yoga studio, Nina tells her again that Sonny needs her. Carly refuses to argue about her marriage with the other woman and walks out.
At General Hospital, the nurse tells Sonny that his doctor is on the way. He’s restless and starts pacing the room, fidgeting with his clothes until he walks out and heads to the elevators. Monica finds him there and senses something is seriously off. She assumes he’s upset about Jason.
They talk about grief and she tells him that it is easy for someone grieving to ‘self-medicate’. He assures her that’s not what’s happening.
After Monica walks off, Brando steps off the elevator and tells Sonny he needs help. He’s anxious and not sleeping. Sonny tells him there is nothing worse than a parent losing a child. Brando doesn’t want to dump this on him given what he’s dealing with.
Sonny tells him not to worry. The mechanic tells him he doesn’t know what he would say to a shrink about any of this. He needs to move forward, not be hung up on a child he never knew.
Sonny tells him that facing his feeling will make him stronger. Brando explains that Sasha hasn’t been facing things either. He’s embarrassed that he hasn’t bounced back like she has. Sonny is proud of him for being brave enough to seek help.
He explains that family and friends help him stay in control. When that isn’t enough, he gets professional help. All Brando knows is that he misses his boy. He thanks Sonny for listening and hopes he’s okay too. They go off to check-in.
In Peter’s room, Victor reminds him of their deal. He’s found Louise. She’s been living with the Quartermaines the entire time. Peter finds that hard to believe. Victor explains everything that has been happening and the matching patient ID numbers on the sonograms.
He’s checked every hospital in twenty miles and got confirmation.
As this sinks in, Peter starts to fume. He thanks Victor, who reminds him this information comes with a price. “My daughter is alive and now she’s going to be mine,” Peter says, trembling. Victor thinks this was all Maxie and Brook Lynn and Austin had nothing to do with it.
Peter had no idea Maxie was capable of such deviousness. He really thought she loved him. She’s lost to him now after all the suffering she has caused him. Maxie must pay for her betrayal. August demands that he help him escape if he wants the information of Drew.
It will stay locked up with him until he is reunited with his daughter.
At Kelly’s, Martin and Valentin ponder why Chase would have gone along with Brook Lynn’s lies. The lawyer thinks he’s spinning but the Cassadine is sure something does not fit. Martin doesn’t even see why he cares. “Brook Lynn broke my daughter’s heart.
That is a debt that will be repaid,” Valentin says. He continues listing all the other suspicious activity. Soon, it crystallizes for him that Brook Lynn isn’t Bailey’s mother at all.
Valentin recalls everything he knows about the night that Brook Lynn supposedly gave birth. They add up to Maxie being the mother and Peter being the father. He hopes he can trust Martin not to go to Peter with this information.
He texts Yuri to dig up some information. The lawyer wonders what he will do with the truth if he finds it.

In the Pautauk woods, Maxie tells Austin that he is remembering things that didn’t happen. He asks her to stop lying. He heard her say that it was all her idea and wonders if this has something to do with her plan with Britt.
She gets upset when she realizes how much Britt has told him. Finally, she agrees to tell him what really happened.
Maxie claims that she was hallucinating and having an imaginary conversation with Britt. She tells him what a monster Peter was and how much friction he caused with her friends and family. He’s sorry for what she’s gone through. He wishes he’d known her before so he could have protected her. When he asks if she confided in Brook Lynn, she snaps. The doctor wonders why.
Austin reminds her that he heard a second voice. She insists that he’s mixing things up. When he tells her they are really onto something, she throws her arms around him and kisses him. “That was really nice,” he says.
Felicia jogs over and asks what they were talking about. Austin says he thought he heard another voice but now he’s not so sure. She has a feeling more is going on and wonders what. Maxie changes the topic.
At the cabin, the teens talk about snowboarding while Esme dumps painkillers into Trina’s hot toddy. She serves drinks to everyone and warns she didn’t skimp on the whiskey. Esme suggests they play a drinking game.
They sit in a circle on the floor. As they make the rounds and take their drinks, the couples tell stories about how they go together. When Esme challenges those who have dated their best friends to drink, Trina accidentally sips. That raises some questions.
Trina and Cam explain how they decided to just be friends. Esme wonders why they are all so defensive.
Joss explains that she and Trina had a pact not to let a guy get between them. Trina admits that she’s not sure how she feels about her friend and Cam getting together. “I just missed when it was the three of us!” she says before running off. Everyone looks concerned, other than Esme who smirks to herself.
Trina sits on the floor in the bathroom while Joss begs her to let her help. She blames this on Esme. She returns to the others and tears into Esme, accusing her of leading Spencer by his pants and calling her “a manipulative little bitch.”
Valentin goes to General Hospital to see Monica and Yuri. He asks her about Maxie’s frequent visits and she admits that she was very maternal with Bailey. She worried that she would have a break with reality. The doctor hopes he has found some peace since he learned the child is not his. He’s confident he’s going to find what he needs.
Monica visits Peter’s room so she can look him in the eye before he faces justice for what he did to Drew and Jason. She’s comforted by knowing he will spend the rest of his life in Pentonville.
As Victor heads out, he spots Valentin at the nurses’ station asking for Bailey’s medical records.
