General Hospital recap for Friday, February 11, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Phyllis tries giving Sonny advice, Carly calls a divorce lawyer, Liz gets another ominous sign, and Ava urges Nina to grab Sonny now.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Laura threatened Victor and Maxie sacrificed herself for Louise.
At General Hospital, Terry tells Liz that she has a date for Valentine’s. Liz is excited for her but the doctor has to rush off to deal with a patient instead of telling her all about it. The nurse sighs and slumps over.
Finn shows up and says she shouldn’t be tired. He was the one who couldn’t sleep because he was stuck on the couch. She tells him there’s no sign of Peter so he won’t have to stay over again.
Liz notices that he doesn’t look happy to hear that. She’s really out of it. He can understand why. Maxie is missing and it’s her anniversary with Franco.
Nurse Amy and Chet appear to worry about Maxie and then he tells them about his volunteer work with the charity clothing drive. After Liz takes off to see a patient, Amy quizzes the doctor about how things are going with her.
Finn is surprised she knows about that. Amy says everyone in the hospital knows about them. She complains about how her brother won’t let her set him up with anyone. Finn wishes him luck and escapes.
Liz meets Terry in the change room and admires her outfit. She’s meeting her date at Charlie’s. They still don’t know what each other look like.
As Terry looks through the stuff the nurse brought for the clothing drive, she discovers that Liz’s wedding dress has been shredded. The doctor suggests it was moths but Liz thinks it seems more like an omen.
Terry offers to reschedule the date so they can drink. Liz claims the dress must have been torn by the dry cleaner and sends her friend off.
Finn startles Liz as she shoves the dress away. He offers to call her tomorrow and wishes her happy Valentine’s. Before he can leave, she tells him she knows they didn’t make plans because today isn’t easy… but a mellow dinner with her family would be exactly what she needs. That sounds perfect to him.
Taggert (played by Asante Jones) joins Portia at the Metro Court. She explains that her mom radar has been going off about Trina. When their daughter arrives, she accuses them of acting weird but she’s hungry and sits down. Her father toasts to her. “If this Spencer Cassadine can’t see you for the star that you are, it’s his loss,” he says.
Trina isn’t happy this is about Spencer. She assumes her own parents think she’s pathetic. Her parents are worried that something happened in the cabin given how moody she’s been since she got back. Trina explains Esme pulled a mean girl stunt but she’s over it. Portia says Esme is just jealous and scared of her.
When Trina goes to the powder room, Taggert tells Portia that she’s different in a good way, lighter than she used to. She thinks that’s because she’s been seeing Curtis. Her ex says she deserved some joy after what he put her through. She urges him to start dating and then gets a text. The doctor has a patient emergency and has to go. On the way, she calls Curtis to cancel their date.
When Trina returns, she feels bad her mom had to leave but is glad it ended the parental pep talk. Her father tells her he will always have her back. They eat dessert.
Sam arrives and finds Carly tearing up a heart napkin at the bar. They chat about the hostage-taking for a second and then Carly tells her about walking in on Sonny in bed with Nina. Seeing them together gave her the clarity she needed. There’s no future for her and Sonny. Her assistant is calling a divorce attorney right now. This seems awfully fast to Sam.
Sam tells her that she’s not in a place where she should be making decisions. She urges her to take time to process this. Carly’s assistant pops up to say her attorney has a spot available tomorrow. She agrees to take it and Sam warns her that Sonny will be hurt enough if he hears about this that it will really be the end.
Carly says Sonny won’t know if she’s meeting with a lawyer. She is done with this situation and needs to reclaim her life. Sam urges her to listen to the lawyer and think it over.

Sonny wanders into Charlie’s and sees how it has been decked out for Anti-Valentine’s Day. Phyllis tells him how important and awkward the holiday was for Lenny.
She thought it also made business sense to push the boat out with decorations. Lonely hearts need somewhere to go.
He assures her that he’s been taking his meds and then downs a scotch before admitting that he and Carly are as far apart as they’ve ever been.
They are done and nothing will change it. Sonny sits at a table and has another drink before explaining that Carly showed up to his grand gesture late. He’s pretty vague about the rest of what happened.
Phyllis tells him that he hasn’t done everything for his marriage. She cares for him and Nina but she should have been more forthright and tell them the hard truth.
Phyllis points out that he has still been keeping things from his wife and rationalizing it. He keeps repeating the same mistakes and destroying trust. Sonny doesn’t see how he can repair anything if Carly refuses to hear him.
Sonny says he’s sure there’s no way to salvage things. He doesn’t know what he could have done without all the tough love Phyllis gives him.
A text comes telling him that Carly is meeting with a divorce lawyer. It popped up on their shared calendar. Phyllis urges him not to write Carly off yet. She may reconsider when she cools off.
“She’s callin’ the shots! I ain’t havin’ it!” he insists.
Terry sits at the bar. Chet sits down beside her, wearing the teal shirt her date said he would be wearing.
Nina drops by Wyndemere to see Ava, who soon guesses something is up since she doesn’t even know what day it is. Nina forgot there were people who still celebrate this holiday.
The trail for Peter and Maxie has gone cold but at least Louise was found.
After Nina unloads everything that’s happened with Peter, Ava admires her for being so cunning. Plus, lying to manipulate Peter may go some way to vindicate what she did with Sonny.
Ava guesses something bigger has happened. She gasps when Nina explains Carly walked in on her in bed with Sonny. Ava is giddy and wants details.
“It’s pretty excruciating,” Nina says. Her friend assumes this must mean she can have a future with Sonny.
Nina doesn’t want to see Sonny hurting. The only reason they slept together was that he thought his marriage was over. “You think that it was revenge sex?” Ava asks. Nina insists that wasn’t the case.
They just couldn’t deny their feelings anymore.
Ava says she wanted this and now she’s got it.. so what’s she going to do with it? Nina doesn’t want to be tacky. “You slept with a married man!” Ava reminds her.
Nina wants to give him space. Her friend reminds her that Sonny and Carly have survived a lot and will end up together again if she doesn’t move in fast.
Ava is sure Sonny is somewhere licking his wounds or drowning his sorrows and she could be the one to help him heal. Nina is determined not to seek out Sonny while he’s vulnerable and will accept however things pan out.
Nina arrives at Charlie’s and finds Sonny sitting alone.
