General Hospital recap for Tuesday, June 20, 2023. In today’s GH episode, it’s Liz’s first day as head nurse, Sam blows up when Drew explains he’s off to prison and Marcus gets a new job.
We also have Friday’s GH recap where Ava and Austin plotted to get into Sonny’s office, Nina lied about losing her ring in the sink drain and Zeke told Portia that Jordan kissed Curtis.
Liz looks at Epiphany’s photo on the wall and shares how nervous and excited she is starting her first day as head nurse.
She misses Epiphany. She talks to a nurse about Ned.
Amy, meanwhile, finds Portia and apologizes for waking her up since she was sleeping at the hospital.
She asks how her patient is and Portia seems confused. Amy says, “Why else would you be sleeping here?”
Liz interrupts and sends Amy off to a patient. Liz offers to lend an ear, knowing Portia’s upset.
Portia details what’s going on. She’s not sure what she wants now and admits Curtis wasn’t thinking of their marriage or her when they were apart.
She cries that she has no clarity and is a ball of hurt and resentment.
Liz gets a bunch of texts and has to dash.
Molly and TJ visit Dr. Navarro in her office at GH and tells the doctor the medication has gotten rid of most of the pain, but not all. She wants to harvest her eggs.
If she goes on hormone therapy, she won’t be able to harvest them.
The doctor leaves them alone and TJ wants here on the treatment soon so there’s no pain. Molly’s being proactive.
They can use her eggs and find a surrogate if necessary. TJ agrees, he’s fine with that. They kiss.
Carly tells Drew to call his lawyer and tell him the deal is off.
Drew refuses. It’s a done deal. He leaves and she goes to Sonny’s place to tell him that Drew’s turning himself in.
She updates him in on the story and he thinks it’s an honorable thing to do.
If he doesn’t do this, they could both go to prison for a hell of a lot longer.
At the park, Ava and Nina stretch before a run. Ava sighs after Nina admits she couldn’t tell Sonny the truth about turning Carly and Drew into the SEC.
What about Ned? Ava asks. Nina says he has amnesia and fills her friend in on how Ned thinks he’s Eddie.
Ava’s shocked and then notices she’s not wearing her ring.
Nina says she was ready to come clean and when she decided not to, she had to make a cover story.
She had to drop the ring into the sink. Ava calls her crazy. They agree it’s a mess, but Nina thinks he’ll forget what he heard. Ava doubts that and urges her to come clean. Nina can’t do it.
What about if Willow finds out? She’ll never talk to her again. She’ll lose Sonny and Willow. Ava no longer wants to run, and just wants coffee.
Drew stops by Sam’s place and says hi to Alexis who is on her way out. He asks her to stick around and as Dante walks in, he tells the room that he’s asked his lawyer to offer a plea deal.
Dante walks in and Drew says he’ll have to pay a fine and will go to prison.
They haven’t accepted the deal yet but his lawyer proposed six months in prison.
Sam doesn’t like that and Alexis says if she was his lawyer, she wouldn’t recommend it.
Dante asks about Carly but Sam can see that he’s going to prison so Carly doesn’t have to.
Drew wants to tell Scout with Sam but Sam asks how the hell that’d work.
How is she to understand why he’s leaving her again and that this time it’s his choice? She thinks Carly should be the one who goes to prison. Dante goes to “do the dishes,” leaving the exes to argue.
Drew begs Sam not to make it harder but she won’t make it easier, especially not on Carly. Drew says Carly has custody of Donna and Scout has them. She’s already not used to seeing him daily.
Sam reminds him she didn’t see him for half her life. She refuses to watch their daughter in pain over this. They talk about how far they’ve come and how she went from being shy to enjoying being around him.

Taggert goes to Jordan’s office with an apology. She’s glad he’s sobered up and says he doesn’t need to apologize. He needs a job and asks if there’s room for another detective at PCPD.
This surprises Jordan, who thought he liked working for himself.
He wants to stay in PC. She assumes it’s because of Trina. She asks if Marcus assumes Curtis will replace him in Trina’s life.
He doesn’t want to talk about it so she tells him she doesn’t have the budget for another detective but her job is up for grabs because Laura asked her to be acting deputy mayor for her while she’s in Chechnya.
Marcus is thrilled. “You really think I could be police commissioner?” Sure she does. He’s blown away.
Once Marcus has left, Portia barges in, shooting daggers at Jordan.
Back at Sonny’s place, Carly bitches to Sonny that it pisses her off to know that Drew could be in prison again after everything Victor and Peter did to him.
Ava and Nina appear and it’s awkward. Carly goes and Sonny tells them that Drew’s going to spend time at Spring Ridge so Carly doesn’t have to go to prison.
He has good news and hands over Nina’s ring that the plumber found. Nina walks Ava to the door and Ava thinks it’s good Drew’s going to prison.
She heads back to Sonny who puts her engagement ring on her finger and asks her never to take it off again.
Alexis finds TJ at the hospital. He tells them about harvesting Molly’s eggs.
TJ says they were always so careful not to have babies and now that they want one, this happens.
And it’s not private, it’s about doctors, testing and labs. Alexis knows this isn’t ideal.
Amy gossips to Alexis about Ned thinking he’s Eddie until Liz puts a stop to it and gets her back to work.
She asks if they need to have a talk about confidentiality and Amy says it’ll never happen again.
Later, Dr. Navarro appears and tells Molly and TJ that their test results are in.
Drew says she’ll have the sleepovers at the Quartermaines. She asks if he can stand being apart that long. He can’t but has to. A knock comes to the door and Dante reappears.
It’s Carly who says by now, Sam probably heard.
She says she tried to talk him out of it. Sam appreciates it.
They agree not to tell her until they know what’s going to happen.
Dante’s surprised Drew wants him to be there for that. It means a lot. Drew says he means a lot to Scout and he’s grateful she’ll have him in her life. Drew and Carly leave and Dante thinks they should tell Scout that this is temporary, Drew’s leaving.
They think they’ll put together a care package from Scout for Drew for when he gets out of prison.
In the park, Carly bemoans Drew having to go to prison but Drew knows he’ll be fine.
Carly won’t be, not without him. They hug. He vows they’ll get through it. It’s only six months. They kiss.
