General Hospital recap for Thursday, May 26, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Chet gets a job in Chicago, Ava and Victor catch up, Terry catches Britt tearing into Nikolas, and Rory offers to cheer Trina up.
We also have Tuesday’s GH recap where Liz checked into Shadybrooke and Carly seethed as Sonny too the witness stand.
Sonny takes the stand in the courtroom. Scott immediately asks him about his relationship with Nina in Nixon Falls. Corinthos unpacks the entire Nixon Falls story. He admits that Nina was responsible for keeping him from his family, but so was he.
Sonny explains that by the time Nina found him he had decided he didn’t want to know who he used to be. She’ll have to pay for her choices, but he’s made peace with what she did.
Sonny says it’s his son’s choice whether she should be part of Wiley’s life… but he absolutely thinks she should be. This doesn’t surprise Michael.
Scott finishes his questioning and Diane begins hers. She reminds him that Nina never told him he had children or grandchildren and harmed his entire family. She keeps grilling and he repeats that he got past all that.
Diane asks if his parent got past that and brings up how Avery was born. Sonny is reluctant to discuss this, so Diane puts it on the record that Nina abducted Avery’s mother and induced labor before kidnapping the baby with a suspected serial killer.
The lawyer accuses him of defending the woman who abducted his daughter. Sonny says she was having a breakdown. He believes she has healed and grown and paid for her mistakes.
Diane tells him that he is less of a victim of Nina than the rest of his family. Given the facts of the case, why should anyone trust his judgment about Nina?
Scott calls Michael up to the stand. Since this case is all about ethics, he asks him to tell the court what happened with Claudia.
At General Hospital, Amy flashes back to learning that her brother is dating Terry. When Chet arrives, she hugs him. He tells her about someone submitting his information to a recruiter. It was a job he wanted but didn’t think he was qualified for.
She suggests that they focus on the now. He confirms he got the job and starts in a few days. It’s in Chicago. He’d hate to leave Port Charles and is pretty glum. He explains he’s seeing someone.
Amy claims this is the first she’s heard about that. He admits he’s dating her boss. She tells him not to give up on his dream job for the sake of someone he’s only had a few dates with.
He tells her how things have clicked with Terry and she makes him feel at home. He decides to tell her he’s leaving. Once he walks off, she gets a call and thanks someone for hiring him.
Nikolas quizzes Britt about Liz. She can’t give out patient information. He reminds her he’s a generous donor to the hospital. After she makes a snipe about his son, she complains about how he’s screwed up Spencer.
Terry gets between them when Britt begins ranting. He asks Terry for information and she tells him Liz will be able to catch him up soon. Britt tells him not to come back unless he’s injured or dying.
After the prince leaves, Terry takes Britt to her office and asks what that was about. Britt tells her that Spencer was speaking to her with “the tone” about her romantic failures and it got to her.
What makes it worse, he wasn’t wrong about her. She does want a partner. There’s a Society Singles event after work and she didn’t want to go alone.
Terry agrees to go along, but she’s seeing someone. She explains that there are some personnel issues involved that have to be sorted out.
Chet later shows up in Terry’s office with his news.

At Wyndemere, Esme tries to tempt Spencer to a picnic. He’d love to but they have to spend the afternoon packing. She assumes they are being kicked out but that’s not it. He’s getting them an apartment.
She wonders if that means they will be sharing a bed. He says this is the start of a new chapter for them. Nikolas arrives and informs them that Liz is in the hospital. Spencer immediately takes off to check on Cam.
Esme worries about her boyfriend. Nikolas knows he’s a bad boyfriend but assures her that the Cassadine men eventually wise up. She thanks him and says she will miss their talks when she moves out.
He’s surprised when she informs him that Ava is releasing Spencer’s trust fund to him. The prince heads out. She smirks.
Ava is at the bar in the Metro Court and orders a martini. Victor swans in. She tells him that Luke’s killer has been found. He thought it was tragic accident.
She tells him it was Jennifer Smith. When he asks about the vow renewal ceremony, she tells him that she and the prince are finished. She vents about what a fool he has been and how little trust there is their relationship.
Ava won’t put up with that from any man. Nikolas shows up as his uncle is telling Ava what a fool the prince is.
Joss catches Cam before his shift at Kelly’s. She tells him she’s come up with a way to stop Esme. She notices he’s distraught and gives him a hug.
Sitting down, he tells her what happened with his mom. He’s terrified she won’t get better.
Spencer shows up to check on his friend and offers him any help he needs. Joss glares at him and he takes off.
Joss doesn’t know how Spencer can be a good friend to him and not to Trina. She tells him they need to break up Esme and Spencer. “We can’t do that,” he insists.
He flashes back to Spencer telling him his plans to catch Esme out and tells Joss that breaking them up won’t work.
Rory sneaks up on Trina at the gallery. She thought he was supposed to be covertly watching over her. He’s not on duty and has some news. He tells her he never went to university because of the debt we would have had to accumulate.
He finally found something he wanted to do when the PCPD were recruiting. Rory wanted to right some wrongs and now sees the chance to do that with her.
She tells him how hard it is to be accused of something she hasn’t done and how that might not matter. He offers to distract her by taking her to the planetarium. She’s not in the mood.
When he asks her to the pool, she tells him she doesn’t want to mess up his life. She points out that fraternizing with a suspect is frowned up. He’s willing to put up with that.
She worries about what that could do to his career. He wants to stick around and check out some paintings with her. Spencer arrives and see them together.
