Tues Jan 9, 2024: Today on General Hospital, Alexis and Gregory discuss their kiss, Marshall asks Stella is there was a spark between them, and Carly and Sonny remember Bobbie.
Monday’s GH recap: Liz and Carly bonded, Lucy confessed her jealousy of Bobbie, and Sonny got bail.
Carly throws her arms around Sonny when he arrives at Kelly’s. They sit down and he offers to do anything he can.
She explains that Drew and Lucas are taking care of most of the arrangements. She hasn’t told Donna and Avery yet.
They recall how the kids dealt with losing Mike. Sonny assures her the girls will be okay. He’s more worried about her.
She hurts and can’t breathe. She wants to be in Kelly’s because it makes her feel close to her.
Sonny says her mom was a force of nature. She wasn’t his biggest fan but she was fair.
Carly knows she liked him even if she didn’t like her to be involved with someone so dangerous. He’s sure her mom doubted she could have a happy life with him.
She and her mom went back and forth about him but Bobbie accepted him. Sonny cared about her and never wanted to let her down.
“Every time we got divorced, she never said, ‘I told you so,'” she says.
He’s sure she was relieved when she got together with Drew. When the topic of Nina comes up, neither of them want to discuss her.
Carly reminds him that she wants him to be happy.
As they sit at the bar, he tells her how much of Bobbie he sees in her. She thinks that’s crazy given her mom didn’t raise her.
He tells her how much he owes them. Seeing how beautiful their relationship was, showed him how it was possible to be there for his dad.
She hopes Mike is welcoming her mom right now.
“You know how much my dad loved the ladies,” he jokes. He wishes he could have thanked her mom when he had the chance, but will in his prayers.
As he gets up to go, he notices his beaten up hand. She thanks him for showing up and making her feel less alone tonight.
He tells her Bobbie would be proud of what she’s done to Kelly’s.
She locks up after him and says, “I love you mom.”
Ava arrives at the PCPD at Dante’s request. He explains that they have the person who confessed to breaking into Wyndemere.
In the interrogation room, Laura tries to calm down pacing Esme. She reminds her that telling the truth will make her feel better.
“Not if Ava demands my head,” Esme says.
Ava walks in and her eyes narrow at her. The mayor tells her they are hoping they can come to some sort of agreement to avoid going to a judge.
Sitting, Ava is willing to listen but Esme’s tale better be convincing.
Esme explains that she was just trying to unlock some memories. She’s sorry for invading her space.
Dante asks why she didn’t just asks Ava for access to the house. Esme doubted that Ava would allow it.
She tells them she just wants to be a good mother and reliable person.
Leaning in, Ava asks if she remembered. “I still don’t know who I am,” claims Esme.
She begs Ava not to separate her from her son and Laura asks if they can make some kind of arrangement.
Ava asks the cop what the average sentencing for a B&E is. He points out it would be pretty minimal.
The Jerome wants to press charges anyway, sure Esme could do a year standing on her head. She doesn’t care about her feelings and reminds her of all she did. She never paid for any of that and a slap on the wrists is a start.
She storms out, leaving them in shock.
Laura chases after her and Ava thinks that Esme still belongs in the “hoosegow.”
Laura says she has a baby and Ava points out the baby has a big family that can look after him. A leopard doesn’t change their spots and neither does Esme.
Dante brings weeping Esme out in cuffs. “You said that they’d let me go!” she cries to Laura.
Gregory bursts into Alexis’ office and asks if he’s bothering her. They flash back to their kiss after skydiving.
She’s really glad he’s there. He gulps.
Giddy, she shows him the photos of them jumping out of the plane and he says she looks fantastic.
Alexis suggests they learn to jump solo. Once was enough for him and he has more things on his list.
He appreciates her jumping with him and then brings up the kiss. She moves across the room and he admits he can’t stop thinking about it.
Neither of them expected it to happen, although he admits he’s thought about it before.
She’s flattered and never would have guessed. What’s next?
“An apology,” he says. He assumes she just kissed him out of sympathy. Would she have kissed him back if she hadn’t known he was running out of time?
She can’t answer hypotheticals. He hopes he can forgive her for putting her in this position.
Alexis tells him he has nothing to apologize for. The jump was exhilarating and the kiss wasn’t bad either.
She knows she has a tendency to overreact but he likes that about her. It means a lot to him that they are friends and he needs her to be that.
She assures him they will always be friends.

At the hospital, Dr Martel tells Portia and Curtis that he’s really glad that the patient agreed to this surgery. He’s a perfect candidate and all is prepped.
Martel says they have performed this procedure on 25 patients and three were successful. He can’t make better assurances.
The doctor tells them to revisit the liability waiver and they’ve already signed all the paperwork. He leaves them to talk this over one last time.
When they are left alone, Curtis senses his wife has doubts and asks what she’s thinking. She admits that as a doctor she has no problem with the procedure, but as his wife she’s scared.
He says they won’t have this procedure if she doesn’t want it. But he was thinking that even if the operation didn’t go his way, the experiment could help the next person.
When he says they can go home, the doctor arrives and Curtis starts to tell him that they are backing out. Taking her husband’s hands, Portia says they are ready to go ahead.
In the waiting area, Curtis’ family worry. Stella worries that the procedure might not work and Marshall says they need to stay positive.
Marshall growls that this is not the time for doubt and if she can’t be all in, she shouldn’t be there.
He stomps off. TJ trails after him and Marshall feels bad.
He tells his grandson that he’s been a hypocrite and Stella was just saying out loud what he’s trying not to say.
All he can think about is when Curtis’ heart stopped the last time he was on the operating table. He’d rather have his son in a wheelchair than not at all.
They sit on the steps and TJ tries to assure him that this procedure is far less risky. The doctor is sure that Curtis has a good chance.
They hug. He asks his grandfather is everything is okay with Stella. Marshall flashes back to embracing her and claims they are both just suffering from nerves.
Back down the hall, Trina listens to Stella saying they just need to be supportive. She guesses something is up.
Trina admits she did something terrible. She tells her about her plans to go to Paris… with Spencer.
Stella is sure that it will be hard for her to choose between running off to Europe or staying here to help her father through his recovery.
She tells Trina to go to Paris. They will all be fine. If she doesn’t, she will regret it.
Trina worries about being selfish but Stella tells her to go. Curtis is a grown man surrounded by family and she should have a great time in Paris.
Hat in hand, Marshall apologizes to Stella for being out of line. She accepts that. People react that way in tense moments.
When he asks if something sparked between them at Christmas, she claims she doesn’t know what he means.
As Marshall is wheeled out, the family gather around to say they will be praying for him. He asks them to look out for his wife.
Portia loves him and gives him a kiss.
Curtis gets on the operating table.
