Days of our Lives recap for Friday, December 30, 2022.
In today’s Days episode, Kristen makes a stunning discovery that Rachel is gone, and Gabi’s wedding is a catastrophe.
In the last Days recap, it’s Gabi and Li’s wedding day and Gabi remembered everything Rolf told her about Li making him brainwash Stefan, and meanwhile, Chloe and Stefan have a romantic New Year’s Eve in Miami.
In Miami, Chloe and Stefan almost have sex until she stops it with three or four apologies. He says it’s fine. They’ve been through a lot.
He wants to ensure they can be friends. She wants that. He wonders if he came on too strong. She tells him no.
They have dessert and he wants her to go dancing with him. They drink some champagne before they head out..
Back in Salem, Gabi turns on Li, remembering that Rolf accused him of having Stefan brainwashed. Li denies it.
She says Rolf admitted Li tried to kill Stefan in his sleep. “You tried to murder the man that I love.”
Li again denies it. He didn’t try to murder Stefan and if he did why didn’t she remember before now?
She keeps flashing back to holding a scalpel against Rolf’s neck. She remembers telling him to get the serum to bring Stefan back to normal and him injecting her. She tells them she remembers everything. Wendy stands by, looking green. The guests are dead quiet.
He wants to leave to work it out but Rafe says neither Li nor Kristen are not going anywhere. Jada jumps into action, whipping cuffs out of nowhere. She shoves Li to Rafe and cuffs Kristen.
“You want me to read you your rights or do you still have them memorized from all the other Salem weddings?”
Rafe cuffs Li and Brady toddles off after them. “I wouldn’t miss this for the world,” he says. Gabi looks lost.
Wendy finally approaches her. She asks her not to tell her that she’s wrong about Li. Wendy believes her. Gabi needs to find Stefan.
She phones him but he and Chloe are looking at things to do and he misses the call. He leaves his phone behind when they exit the room and Gabi leaves him a message to call, that it’s urgent.
Nearby, EJ asks Johnny to keep his part in Li’s scheme to himself still. Johnny agrees. They wanna do what’s best for Gabi. EJ doesn’t want Stefan to know.
Gabi asks Nicole where Chloe went. Nicole reluctantly admits she’s at the Fountainhead hotel. Gabi takes off and Nic tells EJ that Chloe’s going to have one heck of a New Year’s.
At Marlena and John’s townhouse, Rachel and Eric watch Road Runner and eat popcorn.
She tries to toss a few in his mouth. They laugh. Rachel tells Eric that her mommy and daddy are reuniting.
They have to kiss at midnight. Eric isn’t convinced. They play Go Fish.
She kills him at the game and he munches on popcorn as he says, I owe you $342,000.
Rachel asks why he’s here and not at a party.
He asks her to join him on a top-secret adventure. She eats popcorn and listens.
At SPD, Li asks Rafe to see about Gabi who is falling apart. Rafe yells that she is not. Kristen asks to see her lawyer.
He tells them both it’s a preliminary meeting. He wants them to write his history with Rolf and everything both have done to Stefan DiMera.
In the outer room, Brady calls Eric and asks to abort their kidnapping mission because Kristen’s been arrested.
Four hours later…
EJ and Nicole drink champagne and eat chocolate cake at the DiMera mansion. She notices he doesn’t seem upset that Rolf had his brother brainwashed. EJ claims the police are handling it. What can he do? Nic tells him to fire Li. EJ can’t.
His dad’s the chairman of the board. Nic says this is his family’s company and Li tried to murder one of his family. EJ says it’s not that simple.
Nicole doesn’t get it. Doesn’t he want to take him down? Nicole realizes Li can take EJ down with him. He plays innocent but she knows him.
He went to Johnny after the big announcement. He wasn’t talking about the canapes. EJ laughs that she knows him well.
EJ admits he knew about the brainwashing after the fact and chose to keep quiet.
He didn’t know about the attempted murder unit tonight. He explains he wanted Stefan’s help to oust Gabi from DiMera. He asks if she thinks he’s a terrible person.
She says they’re a lot alike.

He calls her a decent person. None of her other ex-husbands would agree.
He thinks they don’t deserve her. She asks how long Johnny’s known. EJ asks if she’s clairvoyant. He admits it and they watch the ball drop together and share a kiss.
Back at SPD, Jada’s confused when Rafe refuses to let Kristen and Li call their lawyers.
He says, “Can’t always get what you want.” He wants them to leave there with a false sense of security, thinking that they couldn’t get proof of wrongdoing.
First thing in the morning, he builds his case.
Brady appears and they tell him he can go. The others are being set free.
Brady privately calls Eric to say the plan is back on to kidnap Rachel.
In the interrogation room, Kristen assumes he’ll keep them there all night.
He’ll play hardball since Li wronged his sister.
Li claims he loves Gabi and needs to go to her. He thought his sister was going to stop the wedding.
Kristen jokes that she probably didn’t because of what outing him would do to the Shin family dynasty. It’d cost her cold hard cash.
He calls her cynical and she laughs.
She was protecting her brother who she adores. Does that sound better?
Back at the wedding venue, Wendy and Johnny find her wrap. She’s shivering. They’re glad Gabi made her flight to Miami.
Wendy worries about what’ll happen.
Johnny knows she almost stopped the wedding. She couldn’t do it when she saw how much her brother loves Gabi.
She can’t get past the attempted murder. “Do you think it’s true?” She whispers. Johnny doesn’t know. She’s almost in tears, hoping it’s not true.
Gabi arrives at Stefan’s hotel room. She bangs on the door and goes to find a way in when nobody answers.
Chloe and Stefan appear and he thanks her for the ride share.
He finds his phone and sees that Gabi called.
He doesn’t care and offers to go get another room. She’d like him to stay.
She plants a kiss on his mouth. They wind up having sex and afterward, he says he can see she’s ready to move on from Brady more than ever.
“Brady who?” She asks. They make out.
At the Horton Square, Wendy and Johnny run into Li.
He needs to see Gabi but Wendy says she went to Miami to find Stefan.
Wendy tells him he’s on his own from now on. After he goes, they share a kiss at midnight.
Brady and Kristen arrive at Jarlena’s townhouse.
He asks her about the nasty stuff she did.
She’s not interested in talking about it. She tells him she’s off to see their daughter and asks him to tip Eric generously since he’s been out of work.
He watches her walk away and then watches the ball drop on TV.
She comes back out. “Brady? Rachel’s gone!”
