Monday, September 4, Y&R day ahead recap: Billy and Lily share their issues with each other, Mariah learns to sign a little and Heather eavesdrops as Phyllis plays matchmaker for them.
Friday’s Y&R day ahead: Nikki Tells Audra She Won’t Fire Her as Long as She Dumps Kyle and Ashley and Jack Make Peace After Her Ironic Brush with Death

At GCAC lounge, Mariah and Devon take a break to get her mind off of Aria.
Tessa’s in New York doing appearances for Marchetti and wanted to cancel, but work can help take your mind off your troubles.
Devon dismisses it as a dream but she’s worried.
Mariah’s heartbroken for Aria that she can’t hear the horses neighing from the Tack House.
Devon comforts her.
She can lean on him. Besides, hearing aids could help.
There are a lot of options since he was a teenager.
Mariah knows but can’t get it to sink in.
She had a nightmare about Aria being a teenager and shutting down.
He tries to get her to stop yammering about it. She wants the worst-case scenario from him.
He wonders how making her more worried will help. She thinks expecting the worst will help somehow.
He thinks she should hope for the best. They go around about this for a while. She begs and he reluctantly agrees.
The worst thing would be that she tries everything and never hears.
He used to have a TTY device to use his phone, and a flashing doorbell, and sign language.
“Dru, Neil, and Lily, they all learned it for me.” She asks if it was hard and he says no and shows her how to sign Aria’s name.
This perks Mariah up. She’ll show Tessa. They sign ‘mother’.
He jokes that he can sign ‘bad attitude’ for her.
She laughs and he signs ‘brave’. For her. She thanks him. Later, Mariah thanks him for talking her down before they part ways and he invites them to stay at the mansion with him and Abby.
Dominic would love it. She initially refuses but he talks her into it.
She takes off to pack and get the kid.
“I’ll call Abby and tell her to get all her hair things ready,” he jokes.
Lily comes upon Billy at Crimson Lights. She can tell something is going on.
He covers and turns the tables on her and asks how things with her are.
She’s hesitant but he drags it out of her and she admits Heather’s staying in Genoa City for a while and she’s concerned the lawyer has regrets about what went wrong with Daniel.
Billy thinks those are natural feelings.
Lily knows. Billy says those feelings don’t vanish.
She thinks it’s possible that Daniel could be pulled back to Heather. They’re still new and she’s unsure where things are headed.
She’s had enough issues in her love life the past few years. Billy’s sorry.
He hates that he hurt her. Lily apologizes. She’s not blaming him. He thinks she’s amazing and that Daniel would be an idiot not to see that.
He talks about missing Chelsea and Connor and she asks how things are going at Jabot.
He sighs and says it’s in flux. He asks if he can lean on her. She’s all ears — no judgment. He fills her in on the family drama and work drama and how Ashley’s got a piece of the company and is building a competitive one. He admits he has been put im the middle of it.
She asks if he was a double agent. He was loyal to Jack and Jabot. His father’s legacy is still important. He doesn’t trust Diane in business.
Lily asks what harm she could do. He thinks she could do what’s right for her, not the family and his brother won’t see it since he’s blinded by love.
He doesn’t trust Tucker, either and his sister is blinded by hatred for Diane. If she took his position, mayhem would break out.
Billy’s amazed he’s the only sane person. He isn’t planning a coup but thinks he should run Jabot.
Lily remembers how terrible things went last time and rolls her eyes. He’s never had the same passion for the company as Jack.
Is this about his desire for power?
She cautions him not to wrestle Jabot away from his brother. He’s not going to war with Jack.
She’s glad. He’s quiet but she thinks he knows she’s right. He doesn’t know what to do. She asks him to ask himself, ‘WWDD’.
What would Dad do. Their dads were both great in business. Billy thanks her. He knows what to do.

Y&R September comings and goings
In Neil’s lounge at GCAC, Phyllis thanks Daniel for seeing her.
She wasn’t sure he would. He wants what’s best for her and asks if she started her new job.
Phyllis hasn’t heard anything. She heard it was collapsing.
Daniel’s kind of glad, thinking it would not have worked out for them since she has issues with Adam and Sharon.
Heather eavesdrops from the door as Phyllis asks how Lily is and he admits he’s not sure after she had a conversation with Heather.
Having his ex in town is throwing him for a loop, making him have regrets.
Phyllis says not to go there unless seeing her has stirred up old feelings. Heather raises an eyebrow.
Phyllis asks him to make amends with Heather, the way she is with him.
He smirks. Is that what she’s doing?
He thinks she’s pushing him back to Heather since she doesn’t care for Lily.
Phyllis has a special affection for Heather.
Daniel grimaces and Phyllis points out Heather’s there. It’s awkward. She came to get a cocktail and find the new lounge gorgeous.
She says Neil’s still missed in this town. They talk about how Phyllis faked her death right there beside her chair.
“Ambulance, everything,” she says and admits it seems like a long time ago. She invites Heather to sit.
Reluctantly, she does and tells them about Lucy’s jewelry making.
They reminisce about the past in Portugal and laugh.
They talk about how she drives them crazy.
One time she had pink hair and they had to explain to her school what happened.
Phyllis smiles as she watches them. “Wow,” she says. They talk about Heather’s pro bono work.
She’s enjoying it and has to hand them off soon since Lucy will have to go back to school.
Phyllis asks if she misses living in the states. Heather gets homesick. For her and Savannah.
She and Daniel lock eyes and Phyllis looks pointedly at her son. She thinks it’s lovely that his ex finds both places home.
After Phyllis is done her matchmaking, Heather exits and Daniel asks what that was all about. She’s just trying to protect him.
He can protect himself and reminds her she’s supposed to stop jumping over boundaries. Besides, he’s with Lily.
He asks her not to meddle this time and prove she’s changed.
By the door, Lily runs into a pensive Heather and asks if she’s okay.
She claims she’s had a long day and takes off up to her room.
At the Chancellor manse, Mariah gets settled in while Devon goes to make work calls.
