(Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for Sept 25, 2023 episode airs in the USA on Sept 26. Live by 4:15 PM EST daily.)
Nate watches in the hallway of Newman as Victor dictates an announcement declaring that he is taking back control of the company.
Nate enters and says that he looks like he’s all ready to be back in his seat.
Victor chuckles at him.
He has some questions about Adam for him.
Victor explains his son has requested the chance to work his way up at the company.
Nate doubts that’s sincere. He’s not a team player.
Why would he suddenly become one?
Victor would love to believe that his son could change.
He’s let him down…but so have the other children.
Nick abandoned the company again. He sighs.
Nate tells him about when he felt like an outsider at Chancellor-Winters and how that prompted him to leave.
He’s confused when Victor requests that he help and encourage Adam as he finds his path.
Hastings doubts that Adam would be receptive to that.
His boss can see that but he thinks his son is trying to turn things around.
Then again, he could be playing them for fools.
Nate realizes he just wants him to keep an eye on Adam just in case he’s scheming.
Jack meets with Adam in the dining room at the GCAC.
Adam congratulates him on the wedding.
That means a lot to Jack.
They mull over Adam’s situation before the topic turns to Tucker and the dirt he has on him.
He makes it clear he’s interested enough to pay for it.
Appreciating the directness, Adam explains that neither Jack nor Billy have as much as he wants now.
They chat about when he left Jabot and Adam admits he’s prone to self-sabotage.
He doesn’t need money.
The Abbott suggests he give him the information for free.
He’ll get the pleasure of watching Tucker fail.
Adam may be trying to change, but he’s not benevolent enough to just give things away.
The only thing he’s trying to let go of is anger.
Jack is impressed that he’s told his father that he wants to change.
What is the first step?
The Newman explains he’s planning to start on the ground floor and prove himself.
That impresses Jack.
He gets a text from Traci and has to run.
Before he goes, he reminds Adam of the threat that Tucker poses to his family.
Adam agrees to give him the information with the caveat that he will return a favor when he needs it.
This sounds like a deal with the devil to Jack but he’s willing to risk it.
Adam will send what he needs to his in-box.
At the penthouse, Lily and Devon have a video call with Jill.
They still don’t know who the mystery investor is.
This doesn’t feel right to Jill. It’s annoying. It’s disconcerting them all.
They try to figure out why Victor made this move.
“This is not good,” says Jill.
Victor probably did all of this just to piss her off.
The siblings wonder if Tucker could be the mystery buyer.
Jill thinks that would be going too far.
She decides it’s time to speak to Victor herself.
