Thursday April 11, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Summer urges Kyle to walk or prove he should be Co-CEO, Jack calls Sharon in for help, and Ash and Mrs Abbott fight for control.
Wednesday’s recap: After Tucker informed the Abbotts of her threats, Ashley became more unhinged and lashed out as they tried to get her help.

At the Abbott estate, Ashley demands that her family let her leave. Jack insists this is where she needs to be right now.
As he calls a doctor, Ash begs Ashley to wake up before they run out of time.
“Stop!” blurts Ashley, startling her family.
She asks Traci if she’s going to let them get away with this. Traci says she’s breaking her heart.
Diane tells her they are only trying to help her and Ashley yells at her to shut up.
Ashley declares that this is all abuse. Traci didn’t want it to go this way.
Jack finally gets through to Sharon. She wants to help and he tells her they need her to come over for a family emergency.
Appalled Ashley glares at her brother.
“Sharon’s expertise? In what? Pouring coffee and serving muffins?” she asks.
Her brother claims they need an outsider’s perspective. She claims she’s just trying to live her life and it’s throwing them into a panic.
Billy claims they are just trying to help and she angrily dismisses them, accusing them of locking her into her house.
As the voices in her head call out to her, she tells her family that they are vile and cruel and doesn’t know what she did to make them treat her this way.
Traci says that if she stops fighting them, they can get to the bottom of this.
Her sister says that they called in the barista to tell them what they want to hear. Billy assures her they can get her another opinion tomorrow.
Ashely declares they are not her family and she will never forgive them for this betrayal.
Ash keeps yelling at Ashley to wake up because she’s freaking out and acting weird. If she doesn’t do something soon, they will realize something is wrong and ship her off to one of those scary places.
Ashley sits at the desk as Ash screams at her.
Diane assures Jack that his sister is not herself right now and doesn’t mean what she’s saying.
He tells her not to worry about him and suggests that it might be best for her to go. She says they are in this together.
Diane can handle her rage but doesn’t see anything productive coming while she’s in such a dark place.
Is it really wise to bring Sharon into this given that they have never gotten along. Is she even qualified?
Jack trusts her and thinks she could give them some insight.
When Ashley begs her sister to get her out of there, she nearly collapses. Billy has to hold her up.
She pushes them away and says they are sucking the air out of the room.
When she heads to the stairs, they stop her. She declares she just wants peace and quiet and to lay down in her bed.
Ash starts kicking at Ashley until she starts opening her eyes.
Shaking her head furiously, Ashley collapses on the couch.
Her family crowd around her and she asks what’s going on. Why are they standing around like something is wrong with her?
She can’t remember how she got there.
Billy asks what she does remember. Diane thinks they need to get her to the hospital.
Billy thinks they need to give their sister a little break. She just had another blackout.
Sharon arrives and Jack tells her that they would be very grateful for any guidance she can give.
Traci tells her sister that she gathered the family together to get her help.
Her sister says she wasn’t avoiding professional help but can’t remember. She wonders who called Sharon and if this is because they think she’s crazy.
They think she’s been through a lot and she could use someone more objective.
Ashley is too exhausted and needs to lay down. Billy agrees with this.
In her mind, Ash has Mrs Abbott cuffed to the bed. “You have no idea what you’ve done,” warns Mrs Abbott.
Jack suggests that his sister get some rest and Sharon suggests one of them go with her.
Traci leads her sister upstairs.
Billy thinks that Sharon needs to hear from them before she speaks to Ashley. He thinks he knows what’s wrong.
In Ashley’s room, she stares as Ash taunts Mrs Abbott for being a sore loser.
Mrs Abbott thinks the most dangerous thing is for Ashley to be around these people questioning her when she’s the only one who can protect her and make things right.
Traci brings her sister a quilt. She’s glad she finally gets a chance to tuck her in like she did for her when they were little.
She recalls the dreams they used to have and how Ashley wanted to be a go go dancer and marine biologist.
“I’m so scared,” she admits to Traci, whimpering.
Mrs Abbott tells Ash that she has ruined everything. Just wait until she gets wrapped up right in a straightjacket in Fairview.
Back downstairs, the Abbotts sit with Sharon and she takes notes as they fill her in.
Traci joins them and tells Sharon about the blackouts and how much they have been terrifying Ashley.
It’s like they are dealing with two Ashleys. “Maybe it’s more than that,” suggests Billy.
He thinks it’s clear that they have seen a few personas and she’s taking about herself in the third person.
He didn’t want to project his own experience onto her.
Billy admits that he went through a dark period after Delia’s death and was blacking out, losing time, and doing bad things, hallucinating and getting into fights.
He got some serious therapy and was treated for Disassociated Identity Disorder. He’s lucky that he got help.
Jack is proud of him getting to the other side of that.
Billy is sure his sister is stronger than him and can get through this.
Sharon says it could be DID or something else.
Obviously, Ashley needs to see some professionals and she will get them a list.
Traci is sure the Ashley she tucked into bed wants help and is ready. She’s never seen her so fragile and terrified.

Summer finds Kyle drinking alone in the jazz lounge. He’s surprised she’s up past her bed time.
She couldn’t sleep and guesses he’s not having a good night. He admits it’s not the best.
His ex wonders if her joining him would make it better or worse.
She assumes he’s having nanny worries too. They haven’t found anyone Harrison doesn’t hate other than Claire.
He’s not surprised that they clicked due to her child-like excitement about everything.
She notes how much he seemed to be paying attention to Claire and guesses he’s been filled in about her backstory.
He gives her a lot of credit for taking responsibility for herself.
Summer is amazed that he’s already on her side. She’s won over everyone else in teh family but she remains skeptical.
She thinks who gets forgiven and for what says a lot. This conversation is boring her.
He adds that he’s not pushing her as a nanny candidate. Summer says it will never be Claire.
They change the topic.
She asks what has him drinking alone. He’d rather talk about the weather.
Pushing, she asks what really has him upset.
He explains that he had a late meeting and decided to get a drink. She admits that’s not interesting and doubts it’s true.
She knows he doesn’t brood unless something is really gnawing at him.
He admits that he’s having a hard time working as a subordinate to his mom.
She doesn’t get that since he pushed for her to take the job. He says she wasn’t ready and Jack refuses to see it.
Summer can understand that after working with her mom.
His mom keeps screwing up and he keeps having to step in and save the day.
He hates feeling so much resentment. She had a feeling this would happen when she heard Jack promoted her.
They know she had almost no qualifications and got it just because of Jack.
She suggests he either walk away or step up and prove to everyone that he deserves to be Co-CEO.
He asks if she’s telling him he should turn on his mother.
She admits she’ll never trust Diane but she has softened on her. Diane should have turned down the job.
Accepting it when it should have gone to her son was doomed to fail.
Can Jabot afford to have her in this position of power?
Kyle agrees there is no way around it and he needs to walk away or take what should have been his.
