General Hospital recap for Thursday, February 24, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Carly and Ava discuss Avery, Sonny kisses Nina, and Brook Lynn says goodbye to Bailey.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Anna watched Peter die and Sasha turned to drugs.
In her office, Carly looks at the uncontested divorce papers and sighs as she thinks of Sonny. Ava interrupts, expecting bad news. “I’m about to make your day,” Carly informs her. Skeptical, Ava sits down.
Carly tells her about the divorce. Ava admits she knew they had issues. Carly assumes Nina has told her all about it and asks if she’s been coaching her all along.
Although Carly is not blaming her, she can’t help wonder how much she’s been involved with Nina. However, the real reason she called her over is Avery.
Sonny will be moving her to his penthouse and they need to find a way to stop her from suffering from the loss of her sister. “Avery loves you. There’s no way to get around it. She is going to suffer,” Ava says.
Carly wonders how they can make Avery suffer less. She offers to lobby on her behalf with Sonny. In exchange for that, she just wants Ava’s assurance she can still see Avery.
Ava wonders why she should barter with her for influence over Sonny when Nina now has more of it.
For years, Carly has plotted against her and made her life terrible. Now she wants her to help doing the same thing to Nina. Carly points out that she’s outlasted all of Sonny’s affairs so Ava needs to ask if she wants to test “the flavor of the month” against her.
Standing, Ava agrees to see to it that she remain part of Avery’s life.
Sonny wakes up in the penthouse with a hangover. Nina is sitting across the room. “We really have to stop meeting like this,” she says, giving him some painkillers. She reminds him of what happened last night.
Sometimes he overdoes it and things get hazy. She just wanted to make sure he was okay. Taking her hand when she rises to leave, he tells her she doesn’t have to go.
Nina needs to get to work. He wants to thank her for bringing him home by making her breakfast. She hopes he’s serving up honesty with that. After they eat, he apologizes for the eggs but she says they were perfection.
She admires the decor. He has a lot of memories of Stone there. This used to be a refuge but now it’s home. Sonny shows her the divorce papers and announces it’s over.
Nina plays the drunken message he left on her phone. “I shouldn’t have done that,” he says. It isn’t that he called her that bothers her, it’s that he’s drinking so much for someone on medication.
She reminds him he stopped taking it all together recently. As she gets frazzled, he takes her hand, pulls her into a hug, and then kisses her.
Curtis and Marshall are working out at the gym when Drew arrives. They welcome him back and compliment him on his heroics. Marshall makes a remark about how he’s managed to survive crossing Sonny.
Drew says what he saw at the club was a one-off. Usually, Sonny is a generous guy. Marshall says guys like Sonny are generous because they have a lot to make up for.
After Marshall wanders off, Drew remarks that they seem to be making progress. They chat about whether he’s learned any more about his father’s past. Curtis let it go.
He’s worried that digging could cause trouble. He tells Drew that he’s moving in with Portia and worries that whatever Marshall is hiding could end up affecting her.
Drew reminds him of his offer to look into his father’s past.
They plan how they can get the information they need. If he offers him a job, he’ll have to pass security clearance and that could answer all the questions they have. Drew admits that Peter may be gone, but he may still have one or two things to deal with.
When Marshall returns, Drew tells him to get his number for Curtis. He may have a proposition for him.
Robert wheels Mac around General Hospital. Stella spots Felicia and Anna and gets everyone to clap for them. Mac gets out of his chair and hugs his wife. Robert prompts his brother to sit back down. Felicia brings him to his room.
Robert tells Anna that Mac is probably good for another hundred years. When he tells her he nominated her to get the keys to the city, she asks him to un-nominate her. They move somewhere quiet.
She resents him making a spectacle of her life. The truth is she never did right by Peter and now he’s dead. She let him die and it’s not something she’s proud of.
Anna assumes he wants to tell her she did everyone a service by making sure Peter was gone. Robert comments that Peter is dead but he isn’t gone. He’s casting a shadow of doubt and regret on her.
She asks if he thinks she bears any responsibility for the way Peter turned out.
He doesn’t. Next time she has love to give, it better be to someone who deserves it. “Not Valentin Cassadine,” he adds. They laugh.

Soaps Opinion: Bad boys of soaps are pretty sad
Stella chats with Portia at the nurses’ station. She wonders if she has enough room in her house for Curtis and his over-sized pride. Portia says he will be living with her until they find a place of their own.
They are both excited about it. Stella is happy to hear it and hopes she will keep an eye on him. There could be trouble.
Portia assumes that “trouble” means Marshall. Stella is worried that Curtis will ignore all the signs telling him not to get too close to his father. It sounds to the doctor like she thinks Marshall wants to hurt his son.
Stella claims she doesn’t know anything for certain. Whatever secret he’s dragging around could cause damage. The doctor admits she’s worried.
In his room, Mac tells Felicia how terrified he was when she ran off. She tells him not to land himself in surgery again. He’s anxious to see Maxie and his granddaughter again. When he worries about Brook Lynn making things difficult, he thinks of calling a unit over.
She dumps his phone in a flower bowl. He wonders if she’s feeling effects from what’s happened and gives her a kiss.
At the beach house, Brook Lynn and Chase sadly look at Bailey’s toys. Ned asks if there’s anything he can do but his daughter says she has everything under control. She worries he will fall apart if he has to say goodbye to Bailey.
The doorbell rings. Unready, Brook Lynn slouches over to answer it.
Maxie is welcomed in. She just landed and came over and could sleep for a week after all she’s gone though. But there were no other options. Peter won’t be threatening anyone ever again. Her mom and Anna made sure of it.
Ned asks if there’s anything she needs. Maxie says it’s her turn to do something for them: take her daughter home. While Chase and Brook Lynn get her, Ned asks Maxie if this is how she imagined this moment.
She never imagined it all. Unlike all the ways she imagined Peter dying. But everything was blank when she imagined bringing Louise home.
The more time went on, the less confident she felt that her daughter would want to come home with her. She doesn’t know if she would have the strength to leave her with Brook Lynn, the only mother she’s known.
Brook Lynn and Chase appear with the child.
The men clear out and Brook Lynn promises to teach Maxie everything about her daughter. She places Louise in Maxie’s arms. Holding her, Maxie declares that she will be calling her Bailey Louise from now on.
Ned and Chase wait outside and wonder what’s going on. The Quartermaine asks what’s next for him now that there’s no reason for him to be living with Brook Lynn anymore.
Chase flashes back to kissing her.
The men join the women inside. Maxie thanks all of them for what they did and how much they gave up. Brook Lynn thanks her for trusting them. Maxie asks her friend to be “Mama Brook Lynn” from now on.
Brook Lynn tears up and Maxie exits with the baby. Ned holds his daughter as she cries.
