In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Lily makes Devon a business offer, Billy tries his first podcast, and Jack makes a decision in what to do about those cryptic texts from Keemo. In the previous episode, Jack learned his son Keemo had died.

At home, Billy begins his first podcast as he drinks coffee. He clears his throat and gets feedback so he pulls off headphones. He welcomes listeners to what’s left of Billy Abbott. He tells them he’ll be talking about musings that run around in his brain when he’s up late at night.
He talks about being restless and waking up at 2:48 every single morning. He realizes it’s not recording and calls himself a “dumbass.” He presses record and starts over. He wonders what it is about his mind that he’s thinking so much when his life is good.
He sighs and drinks more coffee. He talks about having big, existential thoughts and then drops his pens. He seems upset and then taps his microphone. “Hello friend. Hellooooo friend.” He says, “You’re losing it,” then starts jumping jacks.
Later, he talks about letting go of the constant need for revenge. He says he was caught in a vortex until he realized it was a waste of time and energy. “Much like this podcast is a waste of time and energy.
Not digging deep enough, Billy,” he says. He’s not sure this podcast is worth it.
Downstairs, Lily jumps on a video chat with Jill, who is thrilled with Lily’s proposal. Lily has exceeded her expectations. She thinks the podcast will be a game changer for Chancellor Industries. Lily’s grateful and vows not to let her down. Billy appears.
He admits he’s got nothing to say and calls himself a one hit wonder. Lily disagrees. She tells him to wait until after midnight. It may take time. She has an idea to run by him that could change everything for Chancellor.
At Devon’s, he and Amanda kiss and discuss her meeting with Billy and Lily to go over their legal needs. Devon says Billy asked him to come over, too. He reads a text from Abby that Dominic is doing better today.
He ate his breakfast and hasn’t had any reactions. She says the doctor stopped by to check on him and there are no issues. Devon tells her he’ll swing by later. Amanda’s glad he’s doing well.
She knows it’s been hard on him putting on a brave front. Devon wants his son to come stay a few days when Dr. Elliston gives the okay. He asks what Amanda thinks about him staying over more often. She tells him she has always know how committed he’d be to that little boy. She wants this for him.
She’s happy to be a part of it. He kisses her and answers the door to Imani. He assumes she’s coming to the meeting but Imani’s clueless. She thought they were going to strategize. Devon says he doesn’t know what the meeting is about.
Imani thinks she should go along but Amanda doesn’t think it’s necessary. Imani says she can bring another set of eyes and ears to the discussion. Amanda agrees to it and they take off.
At home, Jack thinks about Keemo. Traci goes to him and he tells her he can’t wrap his head around being unable to ever make peace now that he’s dead. He says he’s been going over correspondence with him that he’s saved for years.
Jack’s in obvious pain as he tells his sister that his son wanted to change his name and erase all communication with him. Phyllis arrives to check on Jack. She asks what she can do.
“I don’t know. Can you bring my son back?” She gapes. He apologizes and she brushes him off. He doesn’t need to apologize. She’s there for him. Jack’s not sure how to grieve. The women tell him that there is no way to grieve.
You just let it happen. Phyllis asks him to let go of the shame.
He’s not sure he can. He reads the last email from Keemo who tells him he’ll never forgive him for hiding his mother’s illness from him. “There’s nothing I want from you, you are nothing to me.” Traci knows what it’s like to lose a child.
It’s devastating. Jack stops her. He can’t equate the two. She raised Colleen. Traci calls this a tremendous loss. Phyllis asks who would want him to learn about Keemo like this. They need to find out who sent those texts.
Maybe there’s a mystery surrounding his death. Jack says he died of heart attack. Still, Phyllis has questions. Traci’s frustrated at the clues that they gave as if it was a treasure hunt. She calls it cruel. She worries if he flies to L.A. that it won’t be for what he thinks.
He asks the texter, “Who are you and why are you sending me this information?” They wait around and finally get a response. “Get to Los Angeles. The answers are there,” the person replies. Traci worries that it’s someone trying to scam him. She asks him to let it go but Phyllis disagrees. She’d be on the first flight to L.A. Jack decides he’ll go.
At Lily’s, she has just told Billy about some plan. He seems surprised by it and she accuses him of not being interested. He denies that and Amanda, Devon and Imani turn up. Devon jokes that he’ll take a bourbon, before they dive in.
Devon gives Lily an update about Dominic. Lily says they want to discuss something bigger than the podcast. “A lot bigger.” She talks about his risk at acquiring Mergeron that wound up paying off. She knows his company is smaller than Chancellor.
She feels they can both open up to each other. She spells it out. She wants to join companies together, to merge. “Chancellor/Winters.” Devon seems overwhelmed. She shares that Jill loves the idea and regrets not thinking of it herself.
Imani asks how she envisions it and how they’d define their roles. Lily thinks they’d figure it out later. Imani disagrees and Amanda steps in and tells her sister, “Eyes and ears only, remember?” Devon says he has total autonomy at his company.
She knows but asks him to think about what they can built together. Devon apologizes. He thinks the timing is bad. She asks him to think about it and take his time. Devon admires that she’s thinking outside the box like this.
He loves the idea of working with her and asks to work on the podcast first and see how that goes. After everyone has left, Lily seems disappointed. She stares at her dad’s photo and smiles. Meanwhile, Billy goes back upstairs and starts a podcast on how great Lily is with ideas to change the world. It’s why he loves her.
At home, Amanda’s not happy about Imani. He asks what she thinks of the offer. She thinks it’s up to him. He values her opinion and asks her thoughts. She appreciates the talk about timing but calls it a complicated deal that would change a lot.
She thinks she can come up with a scenario to ensure he and Lily share responsibilities while maintaining control of their own companies. She admits the whole idea of the merger sounds wonderful.

Mariah asks everyone to gather around at Crimson Lights because she and Tessa have an announcement. Sharon excitedly says, “They have an announcement.”
Outside a house in L.A., Phyllis says, “This is the address that was mentioned in all those mysterious texts.” Jack’s in awe as he says, “This is Keemo’s house.”
Victor warns Ashland, “I’m done playing games with you and it ends now. The charade is over.”
There was no new Y&R episode on Friday, February 25th for Canadians. Instead, we were shown this Jack standalone episode from 2019. The reason for the pre-emptive repeat was that the presidential address regarding the attack on Ukraine happened on Thursday before Canada could pull that Y&R episode. This means that Monday’s episode will be the recap you read above, and Canadians will be watching Tuesday’s episode. We’ll have our regular Y&R day ahead recap for you at the usual time!
