SoapsSpoilers’ General Hospital recap for the Monday, January 24, 2022 episode. Today, Carly won’t let Sonny take her home, Curtis and Marshall see eye to eye, and Jennifer explains why she’s in Port Charles, but has an ulterior motive. We also have Friday’s GH recap where Jennifer Smith and Helena Cassadine crashed Luke’s memorial.
At the club, Curtis tells Portia he’s been thinking about almost thinking he’d lose Marshall. Later, the man turns up. She asks if she should be home resting but he wanted to thank her for helping him through his episode last night.
Curtis watches as she calls the man forward and reminds him Curtis asked for space. Curtis intervenes. He asked Marshall to stop by.
Curtis says he realized that demanding answers from his dad could mean he’s putting them both in jeopardy. He’s willing to let his questions go for now. They shake hands and Portia tells the men to enjoy their night together. She goes home. The men start drinking shots.
At Metro Court, Ned and Olivia tell Leo that they’re going to have a wedding ceremony at the house. They’re renewing their vows. He doesn’t get it.
They tell him that Julian will always be his biological father but that Ned wants to be his father as well, which will make him part of his family.
He likes that idea and changing his name to Quartermaine so Ned kisses them both and goes to make the call.
At the bar, Britt asks Austin to tell her what’s up between him and Maxie. She talks about Maxie giving birth and the whole business with her brother and his crazy nurse.
Austin seems surprised. Ned interrupts to apologize to Austin. He invites him to the renewal. “I’ve got other plans,” Austin says. while Olivia cries as she tells Leo she sees him and will never let her fears get in between them. They hug.
At the house, Brook Lynn refuses Chase’s help with Bailey, still smarting about his harsh words against her. Maxie turns up. “I want my baby.”
She tells them she thinks someone’s following her. Brook Lynn worries that she’ll be found. Maxie clarifies she doesn’t want to take her baby but to see her. Brook Lynn says she just went down for a nap.
Maxie doesn’t care. “Don’t tell me what my daughter needs,” she tells the brunette. She goes to Bailey’s room and winds up waking the baby and making her cry.
She’s unable to soothe the baby and seems hurt when Brook Lynn rushes in and quickly is able to calm the baby down.
Maxie runs downstairs and cries to Chase that her baby doesn’t even know her own name and that Brook Lynn’s able to calm her down. “She doesn’t even know who I am.”
Chase comforts her. She shows him that she carries around a photo of the sonogram. Brook Lynn returns and Maxie wonders if she will be forced to tell the truth now since Austin is asking questions.
Brook Lynn says no and apologizes for what happened with Bailey. Maxie thinks it’s fine.
It’s good to know her daughter is in good hands. “You guys make a great team,” she says before she goes. Chase agrees. Brook Lynn snipes. She gets the sense she’s a burden to him.
At Charlie’s, Valentin has a drink with Victor and tells him Dr. Holt came to see him. They talk of how Anna’s been looking at Victor “rather crossly.”
He tells Valentin that there’s something brewing and they’ll need each other soon. He won’t say why. He takes out money to pay the tab and comes across a paper. Victor questions him.
He takes out the sonogram photo and says even though Bailey isn’t his, he can’t help but carry it around. Victor looks at the patient number on the back and offers to keep it for him.
On the Haunted Star, Jennifer Smith shows up. Spencer learns she was married to Luke “for about five minutes,” and is Frank’s daughter. Laura says.
She asks Jennifer what she wants. They explain that Frank ordered Luke to marry Jennifer and then Laura and Luke ran off together. Jennifer chooses to remember the good times. She asks why nobody told her about the memorial.
Laura says she wasn’t invited and tells her to get lost. Jennifer ignores her and pours a drink. Laura grabs it. The last she saw of the other woman, she kidnapped her kid.
Jennifer admits she had an ulterior motive for returning to Port Charles. Jennifer apologizes for all the terrible things she did and the pain she caused Laura’s family over the years.
Laura struggles to hear her. “Where is this coming from?” Jennifer treated her horribly because of her sense of entitlement, she says.
Outside, Sonny finds Carly and holds her hand. He just wants her to know that right now, the only thing that’s important is that she come home. Carly says it’s not that simple.
She can get over the anger, hurt and betrayal but deep down, she knows he can’t fall out of love with Nina.
She doesn’t expect him to turn off his feelings at the drop of a hat but thinks he needs time and she can’t be around him while he nurses a broken heart for someone else.
He reminds her she kept her feelings for Jason from him. She clarifies it was for two days and he was protecting her and Nina. Sonny argues that he still loves Carly. They need to recommit.
He starts yelling that he’ll tell her he loves her every day. “Are you okay?” She asks. He plans on showing her how much he loves her. He takes off.

She sees Sonny and greets him. He remembers her and working for her dad. Laura asks Spencer to go outside for a bit. Jennifer talks about how proud her dad would be and if he wanted, his empire could grow more.
Sonny reminds her that her dad is dead. He doesn’t want to discuss it. He offers his private jet for her to go home now.
He needs to concentrate on Carly and his family. Laura offers her that drink she wanted and Sonny yells, “Come on!” at his phone. Laura asks if he’s okay. He says he’s fine and goes.
Jennifer asks how she reached catharsis after everything that happened to her and Laura says not to look for it. Jennifer goes and Spencer returns. Laura hugs him and is sorry for being so hard on him.
Carly arrives at her Metro Court room and finds Joss. They hug and Joss asks to talk about what’s going on. Carly refuses but her daughter convinces her to open up.
She admits how sad and confused she is. She doesn’t understand ‘this’ Sonny and knows he’s really protecting Nina, not her. She bitches to her kid about her marital issues as they snuggle on the sofa.
Sonny arrives at the club and tells Curtis, “I want your club.”
Jennifer gets into the back of a car and makes a call. She says she got them what they wanted. Sonny’s in no rush to expand to the west coast so that should give them plenty of time to grow. She asks if they’re finished there.
Maxie arrives to Charlie’s as Valentin leaves. She bumps right into Victor and drops her purse. The sonogram spills out and Victor sees it and looks at her, eyes narrowed in surprise.
