Mon Jan 22, 2024: Today on General Hospital, Laura consults with Dante about legal avenues regarding Ace, Esme visits Heather, and Nina reels from Drew’s decision.
Friday’s GH recap: Drew fires Nina and gives Carly her job, Joss rails on Adam’s father, and Laura calls PCPD on Ace’s kidnapping
Nina’s stunned as Drew introduces the new Editor-in-chief of Crimson.
Carly thanks him for the amazing opportunity.
He can’t wait for her fresh new perspective.
Nina claps. “Well played.”
When Carly asks, Nina admits she overheard the tip from Olivia.
Drew tells Nina to go. She asks if they’re finally even and reminds them what she did was perfectly legal. Carly says Drew’s the boss and what he’s doing is legal.
Nina assumes Carly’s enjoying kicking her when she’s down and asks when she’ll put her out of her misery.
Drew is short with her and tells her to get out or he’ll throw her out.
Nina jokes to Carly, asking if watching her face when firing her was everything she hoped for.
“Now you have to actually run a magazine. Good luck.” She smirks as she goes.
Carly is worried Crimson will tank now.
Drew says the magazine’s in a good place but Carly tells him to find someone else to take over and soon. She liked sticking it to Nina but that’s as far as this goes.
Drew doesn’t listen to her and goes on about her staying.
They can make this their own. Carly asks about Bobbie’s and the life she’s building there. He doesn’t want to take that from her. She decides to do double duty and becomes excited. They make out.
In the bathroom, Nina runs into Olivia, who hasn’t seen her since she let Ned take the blame for calling the SEC.
Nina tells her to go ahead and let her have it but Olivia doesn’t want to.
She can see she’s already suffering. What happened?
Nina tells her she was fired and Carly replaced her. Olvia’s shocked, knowing how much Crimson means to her. She and Ned kept quiet because it would have hurt Sonny.
Nina swipes tears away as Olivia jokes. “No need to thank me or anything.”
She suggests Nina might want to move on gracefully for everyone’s sake.
Nina thinks she’s probably right. Once Olivia goes, Nina says if Carly and Drew want a war, they’ve got one.
From her office, Lucy calls Scotty for an update about Tracy.
He says he told Tracy the truth about Lucy, which makes her jump up.
She’s coming to him. He tells her she’ll cramp his style and disconnects as Martin appears at Lucy’s door, apologetic for not supporting her during the funeral.
He wants to make it up at Metro Court Spa. She loves it but wants a raincheck.
She’s headed there for pancakes. They remember the first morning they spent together and flirt. He ends up taking her to Metro Court.
At Metro Court, Tracy meets Scotty and when he wants to take her elsewhere, she says, “Never let them take you to a second location.”
Scotty says he’s getting justice and says Lucy has it in for her. He doesn’t give details.
She hides being on to him and thinks he’s risking Lucy’s wrath just by telling her this.
BLQ, Chase and Gregory watch them from another table and ask him to officiate their wedding.
He declines, even when they try convincing him, reminding them he won’t be at his best.
It’s not just about mobility. It can affect his speech and in fact, already has.
They eventually convince him to make their wedding day perfect by doing this for them and he asks them to get a back up, just in case.
At General Hospital, Laura and Spencer disagree about his decision.
Laura says he’s going to stay with her and tell PCPD everything he knows about Ace’s kidnapping.
Dante arrives and Spencer tells him Ace is with his father.
Dante wants details and is shocked to learn what went down but it’s no considered kidnapping since there was no custody agreement.
Spencer tells the cop that Esme remembers who she is which means he can arrest her.
Dante can’t do that for a ‘gut feeling’.
This pisses Spencer off but Dante says maybe he should arrest him for aiding and abetting a fugitive. His dad’s a wanted man.
Spencer throws his own father’s crimes in Dante’s face and Laura gasps and chastizes Spencer. Dante won’t arrest Spencer. It won’t help Ace.
Spencer wasn’t trying to knock his old man but reminds him the lengths the family goes to for one another.
Dante has to get Esme’s statement and tells Nikolas to call police next time he sees his dad. Once he’s gone, Spencer apologizes to Laura.
She’s more concerned that Esme remembers who she is. They can’t underestimate her. There’s no telling what she could do now.
At the prison, Esme tells Heather she was right about everything.
Heather says, “Tell your mother about everything.”
Once Esme details Spencer letting Nikolas kidnap Ace, Heather slams a hand on the table in anger. She’s not happy that Esme went to see Cyrus, either. Esme knows.
He didn’t even offer help, which is why she’s there. Heather tells her daughter to run.
Once it’s out that she has her memory back, she’s screwed.
Esme won’t leave without her son but Heather says she’ll be sent to prison if she doesn’t make a break for it.
Esme doesn’t want to abandon her child the way Heather abandoned her. Heather denies doing it and says running is temporary.
She calls Nikolas a “feckless dilettante with an overactive libido.” But he won’t hurt Ace.
She’s glad to be in Esme’s life and says it’s worth every second in this hellhole.
Esme still can’t think of being without Ace, worrying about his needs being met.
Heather says to play the long game. Esme wonders if she’s supposed to sit around while Spencer and Trina ride off into the sunset.
She wants all of them to pay. Ava, Nikolas, Spencer, Trina.
Heather loves it and says to leave it all to Mommy. Esme’s skeptical that she can do it from behind bars and says she’s out of time.
Heather worries and tells her whatever she’s thinking of doing, not to do it!
Back at Metro Court, Martin wants to get mimosas but Lucy has to stay sharp.
She stares at Tracy and Scott as Martin tries to talk about their relationship.
Nearby, Scott puts a hand on Tracy’s and says he wants to be her friend.
When Martin catches Lucy watching, he recalls Tracy letting him think Lucy’s into Scotty.
He jumps up, losing his appetite, and demands to know what’s going on with Scott while Scott orders champagne for his new ‘friend’.
