Friday, June 30, 2023, full episode recap of GH: Liz spends time with Violet and Finn, Esme asks Spencer about their past, and Sonny gives Sasha advice.
Thursday’s GH recap: Dex and Spencer’s fist fight caused issues between Trina and Spencer, while Austin kissed Ava.
In his room, Spencer calls Trina and asks her to call him. Esme bursts in and he yelps at her to get out.
She offers him a bag of ice and asks if he was attacked. He bellows he was just in a little fight. Esme lectures him about not thinking of what would happen if he got arrested.
He had no idea she cared so much. She worries he could have a broken rib and he tells her to stop worrying. She’s worried she might have to take him to the hospital.
He says he just wants to take care of his brother and insists he’s not like his father. Spencer explains he got into a fight with Dex and why.
She’s the last person he wants to confide in. Esme thinks that’s a mistake because she also reacts without knowing why and people think the worst of her.
He can see she’s been trying to be a better person and he hasn’t given her a chance. She complains about how everyone always tells her how horrible she was… except him. She asks what they were like as a couple.
Spencer doesn’t like to talk about it but admits they weren’t always horrible. He was a jerk when they met and he started to depend on her.
But none of that was real and she was manipulating him. She was his first love but just using him.
He admits he’s angry at himself for letting her manipulate him. She’s sure the old Esme must have really liked him.
Spencer doubts it but then recalls the snow globe he gave her and how it made her light up. She says the old Esme really liked him.
Esme asks if he would be willing to take a parenting class with her. He agrees.
At his place, Finn apologizes to Liz. She says that’s not necessary. Violet rushes in and says the nurse can’t leave yet.
She gets them to sit on the couch and tells them about her nightmare. Her father promises to be there and she wishes Liz would be too.
Liz brings the little girl some warm milk.
After Violet goes to bed, Finn thanks Liz and tells her how good she is with his daughter. She admits she’s been missing her sons. They smile at each other and she needs to get home to her boys, although they won’t be as happy to see her as Violet was.
“Violet and me,” he says. They say goodnight and hesitate at the door.
Sasha drops by the penthouse and wonders why Sonny wanted to speak to her. He wants to talk about her future.
She doesn’t want to be a burden so she’s ending her guardianship. He says Gladys doesn’t think she’s ready. Sasha admits she’s worried too but thinks she’s doing the right thing.
They sit and go over her doubts. Some days she feels strong and healthy but other days are so-so. He says they all have days like that.
The days that terrify her are the bad days when the darkness comes back for no reason.
The sadness takes over and feels like a weight on her heart.
He says that grief plays tricks with your mind. Even though she’s scared, her voice inside is telling her she’s ready.
He’s impressed that she hasn’t claimed that things are great. He’s sure she can handle more than she thinks so he thinks it’s time for her to be on her own.
She’s glad they had this talk. He’s made her feel good about her decision. The mobster tells her she won’t be on her own and he’ll always be there to back. After giving her a hug, he tells her to enjoy herself.

Portia meets with her daughter in her office at General Hospital. Trina knows what Curtis did and wants to discuss it.
Trina doesn’t know why she’s letting him off the hook. She should be angry. Her mom says this has nothing to do with her.
The doctor doesn’t want her to have baggage when dealing with Curtis and feel like she has to take sides. When Spencer calls, Trina doesn’t pick up. Her mom wonders why.
Trina tells her about Spencer getting into a fight with Dex again. They think he’s back to his old ways. Portia says he’s always like that.
Her daughter thinks he’s changed but her mom has a hard time admitting that. She’ll admit he’s more mature and responsible.
Trina is glad he’s being responsible with Ace, but she can’t stand the thought of Spencer spending time with Esme.
She doesn’t want to imagine Esme is in her life forever. Her mom says that if Spencer is in her life, Esme will be.
Portia urges her not to make her world smaller by concentrating on Spencer.
Zeke calls Jordan and asks if she’s free for dinner. She has no desire to see him. Curtis shows up in her office so she hangs up on Zeke.
Curtis tells his ex he’s not angry. He just doesn’t understand why she told Portia about their kiss. She didn’t tell her.
He wonders who did. Jordan doesn’t want to get into the middle of this but she admits Zeke told his wife.
She explains that she had no idea who Zeke was but vented to him when they met at the Metro Court. He pieced things together when Portia introduced them.
Zeke shows up. The men start bickering and Curtis accuses him of being a tattle-tale. If he can’t keep his mouth shut, they are going to have a problem.
Curtis is angry that he told Trina to steer clear of him. Jordan doesn’t think either of them are trustworthy. Curtis asks how they met in the first place.
They tell him to stay out of this. Curtis warns Zeke to think twice before interfering in his life with his daughter. He walks out.
Jordan tells Zeke to get out.
At Wyndemere, Austin kisses Ava. She pushes him off and then kisses him back. They leap into bed.
After sex, she starts making the bed while he’s still in it and gathering up his clothes. He wonders if she has some post-coital neurosis that makes her clean compulsively. She orders him to leave. They know this is a mistake and can pretend it never happened.
He doesn’t think what happened was a mistake. Plus, the scratches on his back tell him she might think there are worse ways to spend an evening.
The doctor enjoys her company. It’s hard for him to make a connection and thinks they should admit they have one.
She reminds him he lied and kidnapped her daughter. If he pulls a stunt like that again, the next body she dumps will be his.
Ava takes him down to the exit. After she shuts the door on him, she smiles to herself.
