In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Diane comes up with a plan, Sally thinks she’s pregnant and Nick and Adam get into an argument over Sally.
In the previous episode, Daniel revealed he ruined his relationship with Heather, Victor tried in his own way, to get Adam back into the fold, and Chelsea and Billy worked on a project for her and Adam’s son.

At Victoria’s office, Nick talks about how hard Christian was working to keep up with the older cousins.
Vicky recalls. They talk about the ice skating and snowball fights that made him fall asleep mid-sentence when he went to bed.
Victoria laughs, glad he had fun. Talk turns to how well Connor and Johnny get along. He asks how she’s doing with that but doesn’t get an answer because Victor walks in.
He reminds her that she asked him to talk to McFadden. He seems upset. Nick asks what’s wrong.
Vic says nothing, really. He says he ran into Adam who blamed everything wrong in his life on him and the family. Victoria shrugs.
Nothing new there. Vic says he’s his son and won’t give up on him.
Nick gets in on it and says Adam’s always saying he is going to do the right thing. His transformations don’t last.
Even though he saved Faith’s life. Victor can’t listen to that since he’s his brother’s romantic rival.
“When the hell you gonna stop cavorting around with Sally Spectra?” Nick barks about it not being about her.
He thinks there’s an inherent problem with him getting involved with a woman of her ilk. Did he not read the dossier on her? Nick says Sally told him herself. He’s going to keep seeing Sally.
He also understands why Adam doesn’t take Victor’s suggestions because he manipulates his brother at every turn.
Nick goes and the father and son talk about Victoria thinking about trying to get control of Chancellor Winters.
She says she’s thought of it. He thinks she should let it go.
When she asks if he’d do that in her place, he grins like the Cheshire cat. He won’t make decisions for her.
Sally sips tea at Crimson Lights and thinks about chatting with Nick at the park. Adam approaches and she allows him to sit since she’s feeling generous.
They talk about his Christmas and Connor’s gifts. He spent the day with family, biting his tongue the whole time but says being with Connor was worth it.
“Kids,” she says. She says her holiday was good and quiet. He asks what’s going on with her.
She questions him and he says that she never drinks tea. She says caffeine has been making her jittery. He asks how her new company is going.
She’s still crafting a business plan with Chloe for corporate places like Chancellor-Winters.
He’s sure they’ll jump at the chance to hire her. He wishes her luck.
Chloe pokes her head in and snidely says she doesn’t need it.
She has her. Adam goes and Chloe inevitably blasts her for talking to him. She eats a massive cinnamon bun.
Sally refuses to taste it and feels sick at the odor. Chloe munches away as they talk about knocking CW off their feet.
They talk about doing mock-ups of rooms from textiles to furnishings. Sally drinks her tea and looks queasy. Chloe notices and asks what’s going on.
Sally loves her ideas. Chloe then thinks Adam’s got her upset. Sally excuses herself to go throw up. She returns and gets peppermint candies from the counter.
Chloe thinks she looks scary. Is she hung over? Chloe worries and Sally says she’s fine but Chloe pushes. Is she?
“No! OMIGOD. Don’t be ridiculous. Can we get down to work?” She pops the candy in her mouth and asks to get back to work.
They talk about chain supply considerations and go over numbers.
Jack, Diane and Kyle gather at the Abbott house. Summer’s visiting Phyllis and Jack asks why Diane returned to Genoa City.
She doesn’t know how she could have stayed in hiding because they need to get the upper hand with Stark. They need Jeremy to come to her, she says.
Jack’s not into this but Diane is confident he’ll walk into their trap.
Jack comments that his guard is up but she asks him to trust that she can handle this.
He will but they need to do this together.

Stark touches his money in his suite at Grand Phoenix before looking outside.
Diane calls and he asks if she changed her name again.
Or maybe she has a bag stashed for a secret escape plan.
She knows he’d find her anywhere. He asks why she called.
She says seeing him brought back memories and she ran out of fear.
She asks to meet in public.
When they disconnect, she refuses to let Kyle or Jack follow.
Summer visits Phyllis at Society. They say Merry Christmas and hug. Summer says she’s sorry they didn’t see each other.
They were trying to make Harrison’s perfect.
Phyllis loved spending the day with Daniel and says there were a few significant surprises.
She says Danny returned.
Summer’s happy and hopes she can see him. She says Daniel also offered her a job.
Summer’s wowed. It’s awkward and she says she’ll be leading the team of tech specialists. Summer’s thrilled.
Phyllis calls it a dream come true. She tentatively said yes. She wanted to go over it with Summer.
Summer says, in case she reconsidered firing her. Summer says it’s for the best. Phylis doesn’t get it because Diane’s gone.
Summer thinks this other job is a better fit. Phyllis starts to cry.
She has lost her, hasn’t she? Summer disagrees.
Phyllis blames herself but doesn’t get why she and Kyle are still blaming her for Diane.
She says Summer turned her back on her and has broken her heart. She runs away.
Nick sits with Adam at the bar at Society, surprising his brother. He asks if he wants to get something off his chest.
Nick says no. It’s office stuff. “That sucks,” Adam says. He likes his job but says sometimes he feels he’ll never fit in there.
When Nick’s quiet, Adam wonders why he’s not cracking jokes. Nick says it’s too easy. He thought his bro did an excellent job at Newman Media. Adam assumes there’s a dig coming. “No,” Nick says he meant it.
Adam’s confused. What happened? “Office stuff?”
Nick brings up how their dad manipulates them. Adam jokes that he has no idea what Nick’s talking about.
Nick understands why he got fed up and left. Adam guesses Victor wants him to cut Sally loose. He agrees though that Nick doesn’t belong with Sally.
“You’ll never love her the way that I do.” Nick’s sorry for how things turned out but it’s Sally’s choice. Nick likes her a lot and nothing will change that.
Adam wishes he could believe him but he assumes Nick will break her heart. Nick asks if he means it’s about his jealous streak.
Adam snarks that he’s reducing this to a contest. Nick reminds his brother that he accused him of being with her to get back at him.
Sally told him and he’s wrong. Adam doesn’t think there’s any desire there. He likes his doctor or neighbor but a woman like Sally?
Did he tell her they shouldn’t rush things? Adam knows she’ll never be the one. Nick waits for Adam to bring up his history with Sharon.
Adam laughs, guzzles his beer and says he didn’t have to. He goes.
Summer arrives at the Abbott house to Kyle. They hug. She says her mom hates her.
Kyle denies that’ll ever happen. Summer doesn’t blame her. She fills her husband in.
Kyle tries to make her feel better.
Diane arrives at Society. Stark forgot what a pleasure it is watching her walk in the room.
She hopes he’ll feel the same when she tells him what she has to say.
he wants to create a truce. Something to settle her debt.
Jack eavesdrops as Stark looks her up and down. “Something I would find desirable?”
Sally returns to her room and glances at her period tracker, looking back to November, to see if she’s pregnant.
She seems distraught.
Nick turns up to remind her they were supposed to have drinks.
She can’t and says she’s under the weather.
Probably something she ate.
Adam walks Chancellor Park and reminisces about his father calling him his own worst enemy and saying he has nothing.
