In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Adam opens up to Chelsea about his work problems, Jack is angry at Kyle for interfering in things that have nothing to do with him, and Summer doesn’t like Victor trying to get Kyle to collude. In the previous Y&R recap, Lily urged Abby to speak to Devon, Tucker pitched his company to Daniel again and tipped him off about where his mother was and Adam told Jack Kyle is conspiring with Victor.

Adam finds Chelsea at Crimson Lights. They wait for Billy to bring the boys back from skating and she asks how work is.
He’s tense and admits his dad’s up to his old treachery again so he has to watch his back at Jabot.
Except for Jack, everyone wants him gone.
Chelsea guesses he’s torturing him for working for the enemy.
She asks if his job is in jeopardy.
He doesn’t think so but he’s not happy at Jabot.
He doesn’t fit in, he doesn’t connect to the work or products or even the people he supervises. Chels calls it frustrating.
Adam admits his father’s methods are inappropriate but his instincts are dead on.
He feels selfish and ungrateful since Jack gave him this opportunity. Chelsea tells him to step back.
It’s the same advice he gave to her. Adam admits he’s been slacking. Billy and Johnny and Connor arrive. The kids poke fun at Billy for falling. He says he’s rusty.
“I thought you were Billy,” they say, laughing at their dad joke.
They ask if Chelsea wants something from the counter. She’s good. “I thought you were Chelsea,” they say.
Everyone groans with a laugh. They mock the parents some more and Adam rolls his eyes, looking like he might feel outcast.
Billy tells Chelsea they’ll get together tonight to eat.
Summer meets Victor at Society. They talk about what a bright spot Harrison is.
They gossip about Diane and her issues with Kyle.
She begs her grandfather to stop colluding with Kyle. It’s causing friction in the family.
Summer says she and Kyle don’t keep secrets from one another.
She thinks she knows Kyle turned Victor down and asks him to stop asking him about it. Victor doesn’t contradict her.
They talk about Adam doing transactional things that never last. Victor knows but he’s still his son.
Diane runs into Nikki at Grand Phoenix. She says hi and Nikki barks, “Save it.”
She knows Diane stole her necklace and framed Jeremy Stark for it.
Diane calls it a bizarre accusation. She asks if Nikki has proof and decides she doesn’t and if she did, she’d have used it.
Nikki doesn’t give anything away. Diane thinks she’s happy Stark’s gone.
Nikki thinks she seems overly confident and it’s an act. Jack’s name is brought up. Diane says if Jack had stolen the necklace it would have been to save her.
Nikki asks if she’s moved into the Abbott manse yet. Diane smirks. Nikki thinks it’s only a matter of time before she worms her way in.
Diane confesses they’re dating. Nikki warns that Phyllis plays the long game and will throw her pain in her face as soon as she gets a chance.
Diane’s not worried. She tells the blonde to leave them alone and stomps off.
Jack takes Kyle into his office and confronts him about Victor and him undermining Adam’s work.
He hopes it’s a rumor.
Kyle says it’s all true and the man has been calling it in while drinking at Society.
Jack’s looked into it and admits Kyle’s right.
He has been slipping lately. Kyle says he’s been MIA. Jack says this is for him and Adam to work through.
Nobody else, and certainly not Victor. “Frankly, neither do you!”
Jack’s glad that he’s not involved with Victor’s machinations but he’ll talk to Victor about this later.
He asks how things are between Diane and him. Kyle’s trying to be open to it.
He wants their happiness but wants his dad to be careful. He admits he’s cautiously optimistic about them and Jack says he’s happy.
He goes and Kyle thinks about what Diane told him about being there for him. Summer appears with a hug.
He tells her how difficult his day was, that his parents are moving too fast. He brings up Adam’s issues and she’s glad he didn’t work with her grandpa.
She told him to stop pressuring him to go along with his plan. She assumes Kyle told him to stay out of it. He looks guilty and Adam appears.
He gathers Summer knows what her husband is up to. She’s confused and says Kyle has no part of whatever he’s on about. She doesn’t like the accusations.
Kyle tells Adam to admit he doesn’t even want to be there. Adam takes off. Once he’s gone, Summer glares at Kyle.
Jack’s at home thinking of Diane when Chance turns up on official police business. He hands over Jack’s briefcase full of cash and says Stark told the cops he loaned it to him. Jack agrees he did.
Chance finds that interesting since he and Diane came to see Stark while he was at his suite to talk about Diane owing him money.
Jack says Stark did claim Diane owed him. But he doesn’t know more than that.
He thought Stark would have put the cash in the bank. Chance doesn’t have more questions but admits he finds it all so convenient.
He goes and Diane appears. Jack tells her he got his money back from Stark. Diane’s glad.
She felt guilty about him handing that over to Stark. Jack says it was a small price to pay.
She tells Jackie Boy about her run in with Nikki. She worries she said too much to the blonde who was channeling Phyllis.
Diane asks if he’s okay with people finding out about them. He is fine with it. They hug.
At Society, Nikki groans to Victor about Diane glomming on to Jack.
Victor shrugs. They deserve each other!
Billy picks Chelsea up for their dinner date. She’s nervous.
He takes her hand and is glad she’s comfortable enough to go out to dinner with him.
