In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Jack and Billy catch up, Kyle almost messes up his attempt to mend things with Summer, and Sally reassures Nick.
In the previous episode, Adam was astonished Sally is pregnant with his child, and thought it changed everything, while Audra was suspicious of Victoria and Nate’s closeness.

When Summer arrives at the Abbott estate, she finds wine and flowers waiting. Kyle surprises her with a rose and asks her to join him for lunch.
He knows he’s in the dog house for good reason and has a lot to make up for. They need to start somewhere.
She has lots of work to do today and reminds him she asked for time. He asks for an hour filled with begging and chicken salad.
His wife reminds him it wasn’t a silly fight. He keeps apologizing. He knows he overstepped with Victor and lied to her.
After they run through the menu, she relents and agrees to stay. Kyle gets a text from her grandfather.
She says her grandfather thinks of him as a minion. As soon as you let him in, he never leaves.
Kyle doesn’t see what’s wrong with them worker together when they have a common goal.
Victor texts again, asking to get on the phone. Summer wonders if he can say “no” to Victor Newman.
He calls Victor and tells him that his wife and father are furious with him over what they did. He doesn’t want to disappoint them again.
Kyle refuses to take part in any plot. Victor informs him he’s sending over paperwork.
When Kyle gets off the line, he tells his wife that Victor is transferring the textile factories he asked for. It all worked out in the end.
She’s proud of him for standing up to her grandfather but it doesn’t make everything right.
He promises not to lie to her again and they kiss.
Nick holds Sally in her suite. He asks how Adam reacted to her news.
She explains he was stunned and talked about them getting back together but she made it clear that won’t happen.
Nick points out that understanding isn’t accepting. She knows it will take some time. They’ll have to see what happens when he gets over the shock.
Sally asks where this puts them. He doesn’t think the baby should affect their relationship.
She asks how he feels but he insists it’s not an issue. She keeps asking how he really feels.
He admits he’s been trying not to feel anything given how difficult her position is. This isn’t a time for him to be worrying about himself.
She tells him he’s amazing but she’s not the only one in this and she needs the truth, not his protection.
“Truth is…I’m devastated,” Nick admits. Thinking about them having a baby had him excited.
He really wanted it but that dream was shattered. The fact that Adam is the father only makes it worse.
He will never be able to trust him and is sure his brother will exploit it to ruin their relationship. Adam has boundary issues and will throw all he can at them.
She guarantees him that Adam won’t get under her skin. She keeps her promises and her ex will not get between them as long as they stay on the same page.
They get to decide how this plays out. Nick offers to follow her cues and watch her back.
They have sex and then she watches him sleep before touching her belly.
At Crimson Lights, Chelsea asks Adam what’s been preoccupying time and tells him he deserves happiness.
He thinks the universe seems to think otherwise.
Adam doesn’t want to burden her. She badgers him to open up.
He asks her to take a walk. She agrees and then wanders over to Billy to say she needs to take walk.
Billy agrees to drink their hot chocolates himself and she exits with her ex.
Adam and Chelsea walk in the park. He tells her he’s the father of Sally’s baby. He doesn’t think this will be enough to drive his brother away.
Nick will keep sticking it to him. She hates seeing him so bitter. He complains about how entitled his brother is and what a taker he is.
Adam kicks himself for agreeing to let him raise Christian.
She says it was the right thing to do at the time. She knows how hard that decision was.
Chelsea tells him to just be excited he’ll be a dad again. Given that Sally decided to tell him the truth, she might want him in the baby’s life.
He’s not sure that’s enough. She tells him it may have to be.
That’s hard for him to accept. The baby was conceived in love.
She tells him he’s a superhero as a father to Connor. That’s not a family he imagined either but it’s still beautiful and full of love.
The family he will have with Sally could be beautiful too. She encourages him to live in the grey area.
He feels like he doesn’t have much choice. They hug.
After she leaves him alone, he walks and tears up as he remembers his last night with Sally and her telling him it’s the end.

Billy drops by Jack’s office at Jabot and makes some snarky remarks about Adam.
Jack is busy and tells him his sarcasm isn’t welcome unless he’s come to offers himself as Adam’s replacement.
Billy thinks he’s joking but his brother says that if he sincerely offered, he would accept it.
Billy reminds him of how badly things went the last time he worked there but his brother thinks he could be an asset.
He’d be grateful to give him another shot so he can figure out where his future is.
Billy thinks hiring him back would be insane, but Jack believes the best in him is yet to be revealed.
Billy and Jack go out for lunch at Society. He asks Jack what’s bothering him so much at the office.
Jack admits he has Jeremy Stark and his vague threats on his mind. He’s sure that something is going on behind his taunts.
It irks him that he’s worrying about Stark instead of enjoying how well things are going with Diane.
Billy congratulates him on the latter. They toast to it.
Jack admits this is the first positive comment he’s received about it. He asks his brother what’s going on with him.
Billy admits he’s been having feelings for someone and he’s not sure he should go down that path. He and Chelsea have been deepening their connection.
They compare this to Jack reuniting with Diane.
Billy tells him that Chelsea went through a pretty dark phase lately and he had to stop her from committing suicide. Jack is sorry to hear all that.
His brother has been trying to be as supportive as possible. It’s been good for both of them. He cares about her and wants to make sure she’s okay.
Jack admires him for being so invested and careful. He urges him to follow his heart.
Billy gets a text from Chelsea. Before he can leave, Jack repeats his job offer.
Shaking his hand, Billy agrees to consider it and exits.
Billy meets with Chelsea at Crimson Lights. She has hot chocolate waiting for him but he’s hit his quota.
She says she had a good talk with Adam and feels good about it. He had a long conversation with his brother and feels good about it too.
He intends to listen to his advice to use care and caution to prevent crashing and burning.
He holds her hand. They smile.
