In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Billy encourages Nate to make amends, Sally keeps Connor company when his mom doesn’t show up, and Chelsea claims she won’t let her son down again. In the previous episode, Tucker threatened Diane after she confessed, Nikki’s frustration mounted, and Lily worried Billy would get himself into trouble.

Billy and Lily step onto the Crimson Lights patio. They are delaying breaking the news to Jill that he is leaving the company. No one needs that distraction right now.
They spot Adam and Connor arriving inside and wonder how the kid is handling his parentage issues.
Sitting down, she says Johnny and Connor have a lot to process. Billy wishes he could do more for them. He’s impressed she’s putting their feeling first given everything else she’s dealing with.
Billy suggests that he be the go-between with his mom to simplify things for her. She assures him he’s not leaving her in the lurch. She gets a text and has to go back to the office.
Adam tells Connor that his zombie costume is genius. The kid is antsy and wants to go. His father reminds him they are there so his mom can see his costume.
Connor says she’s late for everything and apologizes for things normal people don’t. She has no time for him because all she thinks about is Johnny.
Sally watches them together before interrupting to tell Connor how great his costume is. They discuss trick or treating strategies. He assumes Chelsea won’t show up. She doesn’t follow through on her promises or care about anything.
Adam suggests they go check on her. He’s sure she’s fine. Connor reminds him she’s unemployed so what could she be doing to forget about Halloween.
Sally asks what the ranch is giving out. Adam claims they are giving out toothbrushes and leaves for the drugstore.
Sally sits with Connor and they discuss candy. He tells her he’s cool with waiting alone but she promised his dad she would hang out with him. She tells him that she is still friends with his dad.
He tells her about his issues with his friends and she admires his costume again.
Whipping out her notepad, she starts telling him about all her costumes and her plans to go out as Irma Vep this year.
They talk about scary movies and giggle about the ventriloquist dummy in the corner.
Chelsea lays in bed and stares in her hotel suite. Adam calls but she doesn’t pick up.
Eventually, Adam knocks on the door. He speaks through it and she realizes that she is late to meet her son. When she opens the door, Adam asks if she’s okay.
She claims she’s under the weather and fell asleep. Chelsea realizes that her son will feel like she’s forgotten about him. Adam knows how sorry she is. She claims she won’t let this happen again.
When they get to Crimson Lights, they find Connor and Sally giggling about evil clowns. Chelsea looks devastated.
She interrupts them, forcing a smile and tells her son he has a great costume. Connor is cold but she ushers him out to take pictures.

Nick wanders into his sister’s office at Newman and she tells him to close the door. She’s made her decision to replace Sally, hopefully with Nate. She’ll be meeting him this afternoon to make an offer.
He’s surprised she’s doing this so abruptly. She points out they’ve been discussing this for weeks. His getting involved with Spectra doesn’t help.
He points out how often executives in the company date each other and doesn’t see the problem. Nick continues standing up for Sally, but his sister doubts he would be saying these things if it wasn’t for their personal relationship.
He refuses to discuss his personal life and can’t understand his sister’s thought processes. He can’t see how hiring Nate after he betrayed his own family makes any sense.
Victoria tells him allegiances change on a case-by-case basis in the corporate world. So far, Nate has displayed the kind of loyalty she appreciates. Nick thinks Sally did the same when she suppressed the Locke story.
He suggests that her choice is just a reaction based on her personal feelings rather than a rational business decision.
Her opinion of Sally is that she’s adequate. Nate would be a better fit and could surprise them all. Besides, there are other candidates. At any rate, Sally and Chloe are out.
Nick offers to break the news. As soon as he leaves, she sends a text.
Nick corners Sally at Crimson Lights and tells her they need to talk.
At Chancellor-Winters, Devon sees Nate is calling but won’t pick up. Devon leaves a message saying it’s good they got things out in the open. It’s time to heal. They are still family and can’t quit on each other.
Billy shows up at Nate’s penthouse. He congratulates him for being an even bigger screw-up than he is. Billy would like to see him make things right with his family.
Nate wonders why. After getting over the shock of what happened, Billy reflected on his battles with his family at Jabot. The difference is, Nate loved being at Chancellor-Winters and was good at it.
He and Devon have gotten past some serious issues and Billy is sure he can get past this too. Nate admits he was blinded by power and regrets what he did. But Devon still won’t admit he played a part in their problems.
Devon isn’t even returning his calls. Billy admits that Lily was disappointed and hurt, but he urges him to do all he can to earn her trust back.
When Nate sees Devon is calling, Billy urges him to apologize and walks out.
Devon tells Nate they can meet and talk.
Soon, Devon arrives. Nate says they both said a lot of things at the club they shouldn’t have and he’s sorry for that. What he did was reprehensible and the fact that he didn’t follow through with it is immaterial.
Nate just hopes he can find it in his heart to forgive him and they can move forward together. They can only do that if they are completely honest.
Sitting down, Devon admits he’s been thinking a lot about his suggestion that his attachment to Neil is squeezing the life out of the company. That may have been out of anger, but there is some truth to it.
Devon will miss his dad for the rest of his life. He admits that affects all his choices and claims he did his best to give Nate a fair shot. Nate admits he let his emotions cloud his perspective.
His cousin still doesn’t see how he could screw over his family no matter how angry he was. He reminds him of how often he preached about the family legacy.
Nate admits he lost track of what was important of him. He wanted to prove what a great leader he could be. Devon wants to know who he was talking to, but Nate insists they are no threat.
When Devon demands a name, Nate refuses. Devon says if he is sorry, he will give him a name. No dice.
“I will definitely remember this,” says Devon. Sorry doesn’t cut it. He walks out.
Billy shows up at Lily’s office and she wonders why. He explains he just had a good conversation with Nate to try and end the family drama.
He recaps their conversation, and she doesn’t know why he had that conversation before running it by her first. She is sure he just did this because he feels guilty for walking away.
His help is not helping. This is not his problem to solve and she will handle things as she sees fit.
Nate shows up at Victoria’s office. He was surprised see reached out. Cutting to the chase, she asks how he would feel about taking over as CEO of Newman Media.
