In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Phyllis vents to Summer and Nick, Summer wants Diane out of town, and Jack admits to Diane that he doesn’t know what’s next for them.
In the previous episode, Chelsea was committed to a mental health facility, while Elena returned and reacted negatively to Nate’s news.

Nick meets with Summer at The Glam Club and chats about the glow she got on her honeymoon in the tropics.
He wonders why she looks so miserable.
She says the trip was perfect but problems with Diane were waiting for them when they got back.
When she asks what he’s been up to, she hopes that he’s ended things with Sally so she can stop worrying about him.
He reminds her that he’s the parent and she doesn’t need to worry. Summer knows what Spectra is capable of.
Nick fills her in on Sally and Chloe being fired and admits he’s on a break with her. His daughter is happy to hear that.
Kyle runs into his mother at jabot. She tells him something happened while he was gone and they need to talk.
He knows and says they need to go to the house to discuss it immediately.
When Diane and her son get to the Abbott estate, he prompts her to explain her secret.
She tells him all about being blackmailed by Jeremy Stark and then by Tucker.
She admits that McCall provided her with the ability to open the door back to him and Jack.
Her son is annoyed that she colluded with Tucker and then concealed it. She swears she had no ill intention.
Kyle doesn’t care about her intentions. The point is that she broke his trust and he has no idea if they can get back to the way things were.
He’s wondering if it was a mistake to put so much faith in her.
His mom claims she chose to admit what she was hiding because it was eating her up inside.
He’s not persuaded. Confessing out of fear of exposure doesn’t count.
He has a hard time believing that her coming clean was not a defensive act. Kyle reminds her that she promised she would hide nothing from him.
His mom is sorry she broke that promise but Tucker forced her. It’s only now that she’s felt strong enough to break his hold over her.
Coming clean was spontaneous.
She was so afraid to tell him because she couldn’t stand knowing he would think less of her and that would destroy the relationship they’ve created.
Ever since she came back, all she’s wanted to do is prove that her love for him is endless.
She begs him to tell her that he knows that in his heart.
Never in a million years did he think they could be a real family but they have bonded and it is amazing.
That means as much to him as it does to her.
He needs some time to sit with this. He doesn’t know how he can believe the things she says anymore.

Sitting at Society, Ashley flashes back to Tucker telling her all about his random reunion with Diane in LA.
She accused him of using a mother’s desire to his own advantage.
She recalls Tucker telling her about his pact with Diane and how he helped Jenkins with Allie in exchange for information on her. He assured her it was a “benevolent” agreement.
Tucker pops up and she stops flashing back.
When she admits she’s been thinking about him, she adds he shouldn’t be happy about it.
He’s smug about it and asks what thought about him had her so captivated. She’s decided that it all sounds shady as hell.
She can admit it makes some sense.
It wouldn’t be the first time he allied with an enemy to fulfill a goal so she believes him.
She’s been trying hard to ignore him since he came back but hasn’t been successful.
He could see that as a positive but thinks it would be too soon for such a big turnaround.
Ashley accuses him of being a malcontent. Tucker wonders if she is trying to lure him in.
She wonders if he is questioning the power of his animal magnetism.
Is she trying to manipulate him? She admits she could be using her feminine wiles, but if he has nothing to hide, what does he care?
He accepts the challenge.
Phyllis runs into Jack at Crimson Lights.
She wants him to confirm that she was right all along about Diane and Tucker. She wonders why he’s not more outraged.
He’s not happy about it but he’s hardly pleased that Phyllis is so gleeful about it.
This has been heartbreaking for their children.
She knows about that and already made her opinion clear to them.
The point is, the truth is out and if everyone had listened to her, none of this would have happened.
Phyllis just wants Diane to leave so they can all move forward.
Diane needs to leave town before more secrets come out.
Jack storms off to the patio. She chases after him.
“Diane has you totally sucked in, doesn’t she?” she asks.
He claims his feelings about Diane are neither here nor there. He suggests she stop worrying about Diane and look in the mirror.
Ever since she came back, she’s been obsessed with taking her down.
Phyllis can’t believe she’s being made out to be the baddie in this.
She can’t believe she is being made to feel guilty for trying to help everyone.
“Help? You and I both know there is a hell of a lot more to this than that,” he says.
He’s sure she would be going after Diane even if she’d come back as a saint.
Regardless of what she’s done, if Diane leaves now, her exit will leave a hole in the lives of his son and grandson.
Phyllis knows all that and is sure they can help with the children.
She hopes he starts to see things as clearly as his son seems to.
Summer interrupts. She guesses what they are arguing about. Jack hopes cooler heads will prevail and exits.
Sitting down, Phyllis complains that nothing she’s done can compare to what Diane has done. Summer points out there’s a difference: Kyle.
Her mom thinks that Diane uses him like a card. She asks her daughter if she feels like it’s a good idea for Diane to stick around town.
Sighing, Summer admits she wanted her husband to heal and have a sense of peace… but now more lies and secrets have come out.
She agrees with her mom.
Diane needs to go.
Phyllis goes to The Glam Club and is surprised to find Nick at a bar in the middle of the day.
He wasn’t in an office frame of mind today. Neither is she.
Sitting with him, she asks for his honest opinion: does he think she’s vindictive and innately bad?
Nick takes a pause to mess with her and assumes this has something to do with Diane.
She confirms it. He hopes she and Summer are okay.
“I don’t know,” she admits, but she’s really tired of being treated like a villain.
It’s starting to get to her.
Jack arrives at the Abbot estate and is surprised to find Diane is there.
She explains that she and their son got everything on the table.
Kyle is gone but she stayed to check on Harrison.
He grabs some paperwork and announces he has to get back to the office.
She’d like to tell him about her conversation with Kyle. He’d rather hear about it from their son.
She’s not sure where they stand now. Jack isn’t sure either and walks out.
Harrison comes down the stairs and tells DiDi he doesn’t feel well.
She notices he’s burning up with fever.
Summer brings coffee to Kyle at Jabot.
She admits she walked in on a tense conversation between their parents. Her mom won’t let up on going after Diane.
He thinks this is all a mess. He’s already confronted his mom and she confirmed all Jack said.
Kyle feels betrayed, mad, and hurt. He’s thought about what his mom did. She may have committed some felonies but nothing malicious.
“I get it,” he says. His wife knows he wants to give his mom another chance, but she doesn’t think they can run the risk of trusting her again.

“I hurt Sally. It’s a big mistake to try to fix,” Adam admits to Jack, who can see how much he really loves her.
Adam admits he’s never loved anyone so much.
“If you want to put the fear of god into diane, that’s the way to do it,” Tucker advises Ashley.
“Chance is a fool not to put you first. For the both of you, I would move heaven and earth,” Devon tells Abby before they kiss.
