In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, the Abbotts decorate their tree, Ashley asks Tucker what he really wants, and Summer and Phyllis rehash why she was fired. In the previous episode, Summer fired Phyllis, Chelsea tried apologizing to Victoria, and Michael told Phyllis “I told ya so!”

Summer is thrilled when Kyle shows up at the Abbott estate.
He thinks the Christmas tree looks great. She left his special ornaments so they can finish decorating together.
As he tells her the stories associated with the ornaments, Traci and Jack stroll in.
Kyle updates them on the situation at the cabin.
Traci knows that Christmas will be extra hard this year without DiDi. It feels like their traditions are more important than ever.
Summer and Traci go off to get the eggnog and Kyle tells his dad they need more than a Christmas miracle to end the threat to Diane.
When the ladies return, the four of them go through the ornament box. Jack is determined to make this a magical Christmas for Allie and Harrison.
Traci goes off to find an ornament.
Once she’s gone, Kyle fills his father in on Diane settling in at the cabin. They are sure missing the holiday with Harrison is crushing her.
Summer still thinks they should go to the police about Stark but Jack thinks that would be a mistake.
After Traci returns with a box, she announces she’s going to have drinks with a friend. On the way out, she tells Kyle that she’s sure everything will work out.
Summer gives her husband and hug and tells him to be careful.
Jack and Kyle take off.
Ashley joins Tucker at Crimson Lights to hang out and drink hot chocolate.
She’s still surprised he took her out for a magical picnic.
Once they sit, Ashley asks him to stop being so coy and tell her what he’s after.
He just wants to help her build a business of her own. She was on the verge of great things in Paris and was disappointed she folded and returned to Jabot.
She wonders if this is a convoluted way to go after Jabot.
He wishes she would expand her idea of what happiness could be and what a bright future she could have on her own.
She’s the only Abbott with the drive to be a maverick like her father.
“Then why do I need you?” she asks. He says she doesn’t.
Ashley needs to get home but thanks him for a lovely day.
Summer isn’t thrilled when she finds her mom in the office.
Phyllis is cleaning out her desk. They rehash her getting fired and why.
Her daughter reminds her about the morality clause in her contract. She hopes they can go back to being a family again once she gets past this Diane thing.
Phyllis accuses her of firing her as an act of solidarity with Jenkins and she’s not going to get over that easily.
She tells her daughter that things get messy when you are a mom. She is confident that Diane has been peddling a clean-up version of his life.
Phyllis can understand why Kyle wants to believe her lies, but she can’t understand why no one else seems to care that she’s a liar.
Summer points out that she has pitted her against her own husband. She betrayed her and her firing is all her own fault.
Jack and Kyle go to Stark’s suite at the Phoenix and push their way in as soon as he opens the door.
Jack holds his son back as he vents about his mom getting involved with Stark.
It’s clear to Jack that Stark wants to settle his score with Diane and is able to allude the police. He points out that they have nothing to do with her past dealings and now she is gone so there is no reason for him to be there.
Stark thinks that’s a little too convenient.
Jack says that with her gone, the closest thing he will get to payback is if they make an arrangement for a payoff.
Jeremy isn’t making any promises.
Billy joins Chelsea in her apartment for a movie. He’s surprised that she selected “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
She says she’s lived through it’s darker scenes and can handle it.
He eats popcorn and watches her watching them movie.
When the movie is over, they sing and she tells him she feels like the world is starting to be in color again.
Just like the movie, she’s realizing how important life is and tells him she’s okay.
She thinks Christmas will be a lot more meaningful this year and already got a gift for Johnny.
Chelsea hopes the boys can spend some time together over the holidays and adds that her conversation with Victoria seemed to go well.
Adam shows up with gifts for her and Connor.
After spotting Billy, he apologizes for interrupting.
The Abbott excuses himself and exits.
He asks what she’s planning for the holidays.
She tells him she needs to try to live a normal life again and that means going to the big Newman holiday events.

At Society, Lily and Devon green-light Daniel’s project. He’s thrilled and can’t believe they made their decision so fast.
They discuss the next step and assure him he doesn’t need to rush anything.
Daniel assures them he will put together a team and worries Devon is regretting this already.
They reassure him and know this is all a huge undertaking.
Romalatti gets back to hyping his game and suggests that they make a big announcement about it in March.
Devon thinks that might be unrealistic and repeats they don’t need t rush anything.
After some more back and forth, they agree to support him and he agrees to keep them informed of his progress.
They chat about Christmas and how exciting it will be for Dom.
Devon gives Daniel a hug and takes off. Daniel thanks Lily and promises not to let her down.
When Phyllis walks into Crimson Lights, Tucker gives her some random Zen advice.
She inches away from him.
Daniel shows up and notices she’s smiling so much it looks painful.
His mom leads him to the patio and informs him that she and her daughter have parted ways.
“Then you can come and work with me,” he suggests.
She’s amazed when he tells her that Chancellor-Winters accepted his pitch. There are some coders he can hire, but he also needs someone he can trust to look after the day to day.
That sounds great to her and it makes sense to him.
Lily joins Billy in a booth and he tells her Chelsea is getting stronger everyday.
She senses there is more so he vents about Adam.
It seems to her that he thinks he’s the only one who knows what’s best for Chelsea.
That almost sounds hostile to him.
Lily doesn’t know what’s going on in his head these days. This is bigger than Chelsea.
If he cares about their relationship, they should get counseling.
This is not about him, this is about them and she’s not confident they can handle it on their own.
He agrees to set something up after the holidays and she thanks him.
Ashley heads to the Abbott estate and notices that Kyle, Jack, and Summer have become abruptly quiet.
Her brother says they are just trimming the tree.
Ashley heads off for a bath.
Once she’s gone, they fill Summer in on what happened with Stark.
Kyle is thinking of going to see his mom but they think that’s risky. He can’t stand the thought of her alone on Christmas Eve.
Back in his hotel room, Stark tells someone over the phone he has stuff he needs to take care of.

Victor tells Nikki that Adam turned his back on the family, so if he wants to get back into the family fold, he will have to be the one to make the first move.
Tessa and Mariah inform Sharon that they are meeting with another woman about adoption in the new year. Sharon thinks that’s amazing.
Daniel is shocked when his father shows up on his doorstep.
