In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Billy and Lily have it out over Chelsea and work, Chloe learns that her BFF almost unalived herself, and Chance wants out of his marriage.
In the previous episode, Talia refused to help Nikki and Phyllis Devon told Lily he cheated on Amanda with Abby, and Diane warned Jack about how dangerous Stark could be.

At home, Chelsea folds clothing as she has a panic attack, thinking of things people have said to her in the past.
Billy turns up, knocking and then letting himself in.
He comforts her. She has trouble catching her breath.
She tries to pretend she’s okay but Billy sees she’s not.
He didn’t see her for dessert at Thanksgiving.
She didn’t feel like going anywhere. She opens up.
She has had dark thoughts and asks why they won’t go away.
He thinks she’s in self-preservation mode. He suggests she push through the fear and not let it rule her.
She thinks that’s easier said than done. He calls letting go “baby steps.” She and Johnny had a great conversation the other day.
That was all him. Chelsea says it was great. Was Victoria upset? Billy says she’ll have to take her baby steps too.
He admits he told Victoria some of what happened. He says he’ll be there for her no matter what.
Lily interrupts with a text and he ignores it and says he’s meeting her for coffee.
He says she has a lot of people going to bat for her. Chloe’s one of them.
Victor finds Chance downstairs at Crimson Lights. It’s awkward.
Chance cringes as he asks how his father-in-law is doing.
“What did you do to my daughter?” Victor bites.
Chance isn’t comfortable talking about his private life. Victor suggests he talk to Devon next.
Chance maintains a cop face.
Victor asks, “What’s going on?”
Chance loves Abby but thinks the most loving thing he can do is to let her go. Victor knows he’s leaving something out.
He tells Chance never to forget that family is everything. Family is worth fighting for.
Nick arrives at Newman Media to see Nate. Nate wants to do lunch but Nick’s not having it.
He wasn’t a fan of what he pulled at Chancellor-Winters though if it were up to him, Sally would still be CEO.
Nate says Sally was a visionary and didn’t deserve to be let go.
That was Victoria’s call. Not his. Nick barks that he was willing to sacrifice his family’s legacy to help his sister and himself.
Nate wants to prove he’s still the same good man but Nick thinks the power that he had to have felt can be addictive and dangerous.
Getting into the big chair isn’t as satisfying as he may think. “You always want more.”
Nate thanks him for the warning but he never wanted power. Just knowledge.
He wants to find purpose and do some good. Nick doesn’t believe him and talks about power consuming him.
Nate says that’s not happening. When Victoria arrives, Nick takes off.
Vicky tells Nate that everyone has loved meeting him. She sings his praises and says she’s taking him to LA for meetings next week.
Chloe bursts into Sally’s suite at Grand Phoenix with ideas on how to jumpstart their fashion line.
Sally interrupts to tell her friend that she didn’t take Nick’s money.
Chloe can’t believe she didn’t consult her.
Sally says it wasn’t the right move and she admits she doesn’t want to start a fashion line.
Chloe laughs in surprise. Sally loves working with her but doesn’t want to get in the way of her career goals.
“Are you breaking up with me?” Sally says it’s up to her. Is she on board? Chloe can’t believe she’s saying so but yes.
She asks how Nick took rejection. “He understands,” she says. Chloe jokes. “Of course he did.”
She thinks her friend must be glad that she chose the brother “capable of human emotion.”
Sally defends Adam. He’s human but he cares about his ego and needs to win more than her. Chloe’s glad she knows.

Abby drops off Dominic with Devon at the penthouse.
They agree it feels awkward seeing one another and Abby asks how to handle it.
Devon wants to talk about them. They put the baby down and he asks what she did for Thanksgiving. Abby didn’t feel like seeing anyone yesterday. She and Dom spent it alone.
Devon says she could have come over there but she didn’t want to answer questions that would have come up.
She says Chance sends messages through Nanny Louise. Mostly, they’re related to Dom. Devon thinks he’ll come around.
Even if they don’t, they’ll do well co-parenting together. She’s grateful for his support.
He says they can make sure that what they did doesn’t ruin their friendship or how they raise their son. Abby knows her marriage is over. She thinks Chance might be right.
Devon admits Amanda returned to tell him she was going to spend more time in Virginia. They were growing apart. “Distance does that.”
He says part of him doesn’t regret what happened because in the moment, it made all the sense in the world. They lean in, ready to kiss when Devon cries.
Chloe visits Chelsea above the coffee shop. She asks why she moved there. Chelsea calls it “a by-product of events.” She tells her BFF she was in the hospital for mental health issues.
Chloe holds her hand as Chelsea says she’s been spiraling down a dark, deep hole.
Chloe knew she was struggling but didn’t know it was this serious. She feels bad for not being there but Chelsea says she hid this from everyone.
Chelsea doesn’t get how she got over losing Delia. Chloe says comparing pain doesn’t make sense. It’s different for everyone.
Chelsea admits she was on the edge. Literally. It could have gone wrong if not for Billy, who saved her life. She admits she was going to end it. Chloe’s glad she didn’t and they embrace.
Billy meets Lily for coffee at Glam Club. He was with Chelsea. Lily says now that she’s okay, she needs him. He’s all hers. She says they’ve been so busy lately.
She chatted with Devon about growing apart when Billy doesn’t seem to be paying attention.
He looks at his phone. Lily doesn’t like it. She hopes that Chloe being in the mix doesn’t interfere with his new life’s mission. “What’s that?”
She thinks he’s distracting himself with Chelsea to avoid trying to find himself.
Chelsea has others to support her but he doesn’t think she can function without her. He can’t believe she’s going there.
Lily says he’s not letting him take responsibility for anything. She’s worried about him and Chelsea.
Billy knows where she’s coming from. Lily wonders how she’ll rebuild relationships if she’s navigating around him.
Billy’s just trying to support her. Lily thinks he’s using Chelsea’s traumatic experience to run from supporting her.
“It’s you chasing the next high and the next high, is you being Billy the savior.”
Billy doesn’t want either of them to say anything they regret.
He doesn’t think she’s being honest about how she feels about him leaving the company and wonders why she’s bringing Chelsea into this.
Billy’s just trying to help her.
Lily doesn’t like being treated like the villain. Billy says, “If I don’t need saving anymore then what’s in it for you?”
Abby runs into Chance at Crimson Lights.
He tells her he ran into her dad and it was uncomfortable but he didn’t out her.
He tells her that he thinks they shouldn’t drag things out.
He wants a divorce.
Abby looks stricken.
