In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Sally attempts to impress Jill, Lily worries about Billy’s Chelsea obsession, and Adam visits Chelsea at the mental institute. In the previous episode, Tucker told Ashley about Diane and Jeremy, and Devon and Abby didn’t regret having sex.

Billy joins Sharon on the patio of Crimson Lights. They discuss how Chelsea’s therapist thinks she’s progressing. So far, it sounds positive.
Chelsea seems ready to open up to Adam and Connor. Billy has some reservations about that.
She tells him the more honest they can be with Connor, the better.
Things are awkward when Sally bumps into Adam at Society.
They talk about her being at loose ends. He’s sure something will turn up for her and she doesn’t need anyone’s help.
He repeats that letting her go was a dreadful mistake. Nothing would make her happier than seeing she gets the job she deserves.
She notes he seemed to be deep in thought when she arrived. He’s been thinking about Chelsea and hoping she’s alright.
Adam thinks Billy and Sharon know and are keeping things from him. Billy sends him a text asking to meet.
On his way out, Adam thanks Sally.
At the mental institute, Chelsea tells her doctor that she’s been thinking about how she got there and what to do next.
At Crimson Lights, Allie tells Noah how perfect they are for each other. Audra watches from the doorway as they flirt and kiss.
He has to leave for work. On his way out, he walks straight past Audra. She follows him out.
Audra follows Noah into the Glam Club and accuses him of trying to punish her.
He asks why she is constantly showing up. He walked away from their relationship because it was toxic.
She accuses him of being mean so he suggests they keep their distance.
Audra suggests he’s not very euphoric in his new relationship, just there. Annoyed, he demands to know what she wants.
She’s tired of him pushing her away. He accuses her of thriving on chaos and says he can’t live that way.
She reminds him of all the passion they shared but he insists that was a long time ago.
As things get heated between them, she says, “We have to have mattered… because of the baby.”
He’s confused. She explains at the end of their relationship, they were fighting a lot. She was sick all the time and realized she was pregnant.
He wonders why she didn’t tell him so she explains she didn’t want him to think she was using emotional blackmail. Eventually, she miscarried and he was gone.
“I lost everything. I lost the baby and I lost you,” she says.
Sitting down, she explains it was the hardest time of her life and she did it alone. She just wants to know she didn’t go through all that for someone who never gave a damn.
He hugs her and tells her how sorry he is. As she sobs, Allie arrives and spots them.

Billy arrives on the patio and asks Sharon and Billy about Chelsea. They explain she is getting care in a treatment facility,
Adam is annoyed he is just learning of this now. It’s been hard to explain her absence to their son.
He wants answers about what happened. They are extremely vague.
Sharon insists Billy is the one person Chelsea really trusts right now and they are all trying to work together.
Adam goes to the institute to see Chelsea. She can hardly look at him at first and then throws her arms around him.
Sitting down, she doesn’t know what to say so they talk about Connor.
She’s always known he will look after their son.
He asks why she’s there. It’s hard for her to explain.
Chelsea tries speaking in metaphors about drowning on a raft and dying a little every day.
She starts rambling about missing Rey and how mourning him escalated to everything collapsing. She feels like she doesn’t belong to anyone and is lost. She wanted that feeling to go away.
Sobbing, she tells him she knows what he’s thinking.
He just thanks god Billy was there to help her on the roof. Adam tells her that she’s all that matters.
He wishes he’d told her that more. He’s so glad she’s getting the help she needs.
She was afraid he would be angry with her but he’s not. Adam assures her that she’s a good mother.
She’s all talked out. The therapy is endless.
He offers to just sit there and assures her he will be there for her and Connor every step of the way.
Chelsea tells him he has a lot of goodness in him and she just needs him to look after their boy.
At the Chancellor-Winters office, Jill and Lily discuss the IPO.
The topic of Bill comes up. His mom knows he’s avoiding her.
Lily explains he’s been helping Chelsea through a traumatic episode. Jill wonders how worried they should be about that.
After Lily downplays that, Jill gets back to business and wonders what the best way forward is given the nightmare they are in. Any hint about how unstable the company leadership is could be damaging.
Billy arrives, doling out apologies. His mom instantly accuses him of abandoning Lily and the company.
Once Lily leaves them alone, Jill demands to know what the hell is wrong with her son.
They rehash why she made him COO, bringing Lily into his life and giving him solidity. He’s grateful for having Lily in his life.
Billy through himself into the company at first because he knew it was part of his legacy from his mom, but he doesn’t feel fired up anymore.
It’s not easy to admit he’s letting people down, but he’s no longer happy there.
She loves him but wishes he’d figure out what he was doing with his life. The last part of it goes at lightning speed.
She wants to look back on her career knowing she did her best and wants him to be able to feel that too. He keeps making impulsive decisions based on restlessness.
Billy concedes he has patterns.
She’s afraid he’s never learned that bright, shiny objects fade. He needs to learn to stay engaged.
She reminds him that John always praised “sticktoitiveness.” He knows but he thinks what’s best for the company is also what’s best for him.
His mom says it will break her heart if he looks back on his life and realizes he’s wasted most of it.
When Lily returns, Jill exits. Billy explains that went about as well as it could have.
She’s concerned about Chelsea. He vaguely says she’s going through a rough patch and now Adam is involved and he hopes he can give her the support she needs.
He worries about that because Adam has a history of making her life worse.
Lily thinks he should steer clear of them and their relationship but he doesn’t want to wash his hands of her while she’s in a vulnerable state.
She suspects that this is more about rubbing his connection with Chelsea in Adam’s face that actually helping her. He claims he was just the right guy at the right time.
Billy can understand the dark and lonely place that Chelsea is in.
He has to assure Lily that he hasn’t felt that way since they got together. He knows what Chelsea is going through and feels responsible to help her to the other side of it.
Lily gets it.
When Jill gets to Society, Sally spots her and loudly fakes have a phone conversation all about her extraordinary work skills.
Jill smiles and wanders over. She assumes that was just a performance for her benefit.
Sally admits it. Jill already knows her by reputation and prompts her to explain how she lasted so long at Newman Media.

“I’m just going to keep pushing until you tell me,” Mariah warns. Abby explains Chance didn’t come home last night.
“Sound like there’s a ‘but’ coming up,” Billy says to Adam, who asks him how much he sees himself being involved with Chelsea going forward.
“Did you help put Stark in jail?” Kyle asks Diane.
